House schedulers report (Sally-Ann Morris): o Schedules are set up through the end of February for all divisions. I still need to get some away teams to round out the Bantam Schedule but both PW and BT were pretty well filled with the Southern Zone (Huskies and Biddeford). o Working is now on reschedules and trading ice times as needed. o Next project is to work on year-end play-in tournaments. Travel Scheduler s Report (Glenn Jonsson): o Working on managing exceptions: reschedules, non-league games, Valley League team needs. If we do VL teams next year I would propose we incorporate them into earlier, regular season scheduling timeframes. It was a challenge finding them ice after MeAHA and SHL was complete and ice times handed off to House. Coaching Report(Rich Tibbetts): o Coaches meeting went well. Having red gendron was helpful. o A coaching manual is being developed and more meetings are planned Team administrator report(rachel Pargeter): o It has been a challenging year for TA s Tournament report (Amanda Woodford): o Dates and sites work is being done for the December and end of season tournaments Equipment/Referee Report (Tom Clifford): o Referee demand outpaces supply. Webmaster Report (Christopher Prinn): o Dunkin Donuts Sportsperson of the Month page (http://www.cascobayhockey.com/ddsotm) o Calendar Raffle page is up (http://www.cascobayhockey.com/raffle). Will need daily winner postings. o Registration set for Black Bear Clinic on 12/14 at FIC. Registration tested and goes live on wednesday @7pm. Reminder email has been sent to all House Squirts and Mites. o If anything else needs to be added, let me know... o Schedule uploads to NGIN have been working better. finding less duplicates (removing ones I see). o Working with John and Tom Marjerison to get more content, photos and updates on the site for the CBA. Boys travel Report (Fran Norris): o Season is in full swing with several teams competing in Thanksgiving weekend tournaments. HS and MS hockey has begun and this naturally causes challenges for parents as they balance schedules and priorities. It is the expectation of the travel director that travel comes before MS hockey and HS hockey comes before travel. o The practice ice schedule for boys has caused some noise from parents as we move from our usual Tu, Wed, Thu eve to a 5 day per week schedule. This change has also caused some challenges scheduling our goalie skills nights with Ray Jean and power skating with Kristen. I prefer to have these folks in back to back hours at same rink to allow for less travel time to/from rink and higher earning capacity. I may request an alteration to later Dec and then Jan and Feb practice hours. Girls hockey report (Scott Matusovich): o All girls teams are going along without issue. o We have expanded the roster of the U14 house team to include a few bantam and pee wee house girls with the okay from MeAHA. This will help for games as this team s roster is still a little light. o From a moving in the right direction stand point.. o 10 of the 17 u12/13 girls selected for the Maine Festival team are from Casco Bay. 9 from the u12a team and 1 from PW T3. This is up from 8 last year.) o We had 3 girls from our U 14 team selected for the u14 New England festival team (we had none last year). Learn to Play (Matt Goodrich): o Not much to add for LTP. Preparing for end of first BTI session. We will be handing out Casco Bay Back Packs to all the kids at last practice. o Chuck Graceffa has agreed to run BTI during second session. o Initiation will remain one group. Mites Report (Scott Rousseau): o Mites are in mid-season form with no issues to report o Thanks to Tom Clifford for assisting in establishing officials protocol and supervision of Mite Officials. The kids are doing great with our little ones. 4
o Internal Schedule for the entire season is complete. Teams are booked for Midcoast and Auburn Tourney. No teams were interested in Huskies event Dec 31. o Final piece to schedule is End of Season Mite event, which we were targeting for March 7-8. o Scheduling several weekend "friendly's" with both Biddeford Youth Hockey Mites and Gladiators Mites. o Start Tuesday night practices next week. Working with Kristin Andrews this month on all Tuesday sessions working specifically on outside edges, stops & starts, and introduction to backwards skating. o Turning attention to EP Mites now. Have 55 eligible 2006 mites for EP. Need to determine ice availability in Jan-March as well as potential opponents/events to attend to work backwards as to what we offer and how many teams we potentially might field. o Personal Note: I will be gone most of the month of March. In my absence, Eric Turgeon will be covering and primarily, leading any EP activities as well as working with Amanda for anything needed operationally for the Season End Mite event. Squirts Report (Kristin Reynolds): o Kristin Andrews will only be available in December for skills sessions. Peewee/bantam report (Matt Clifford): o Practices & games seem to going well. I need to schedule Kristen Andrews into some of the upcoming peewee & bantam practices over the next few weeks. I am still waiting to hear from the Gladiators about a 4th bantam house team to participate in our holiday tournament. We have 4 peewee teams soothe round robin format works well on that end. I plan on scheduling a goalie clinic in January when Dave Wilson is available. o The coaches meeting was well attended with most of the peewee & bantam house coaches present. o I need info about coaches certification voids so I can reach out to coaches who need to complete certifications by the end of the month. Midget House/Travel Report (Andrew May): o Midget house and travel seasons came to an end in early November. The house season finished up strong and coaches, referees and players report it was a successful season in getting players ready for high school seasons. o U18 and U16 Black teams made it to State Finals but lost in 1 goal games. Travel teams finished strong after a rocky start. New Business o We need to feed the UMaine players after the skate with the Bears clinic. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm 5
