The Secretary's Report Notes were taken by Eddie Tamplin. The general Meeting of the Three Forks Treasure Hunters Club began at 7:30 PM on August 5, 2003 with President Paul Mattes presiding. There were 20 members in attendance. Visitors this month was John Duggan. Paul made a motion to accept the Treasurer s report as printed in the newsletter. We then discussed old business concerning the FMDAC. Paul asked about new business. Mary asked Paul about the hunt in Hulbert Park. He said to let him know when we are ready to go and he will contact the city to set it up. Paul apologized for not being at the meetings and outings but he had family issues. James Byers is ok. He had a spot removed from his lung. Everyone stated that the Club Summer Hunt we had at the Coffey s Blueberry Farm was excellent. We then had a drawing for some things that were left over from that hunt. The Prize Donations Sharing was held at 7:47. Chuck Marcum won the 50/50 worth $32.50. We only had four entries in each division of the Find of the Month Contest. Gilbert Leake won the Golden Eagle with his 1866 GAR Reunion Badge. We took a break at 8:10 and resumed at 8:25. The Silver Raffle went to Francis Tracy and Paul Mattes. The Display to Gilbert Leake Donation to Ty Swinford, and the Attendance to Eddie Tamplin yee hah! The meeting closed at 8:40 PM. Upcoming Events Display Show and Contest At our October 7th meeting we will be having a Display Show and Contest. We haven t done this in years. It is a lot of fun and seeing all of the cases will give you the fever to get out and hunt. We will be having five categories: Coins, Relics, Military Relics, Jewelry, and Most Unusual. You can enter in as many categories as you want. The display cases can contain items that you have found in your lifetime of Metal Detecting. You can use any theme and arrange your case any way you want, as long as you stick to the category. As far as the Most Unusual Case, anything goes. Club members will be voting on the Display Cases and prizes will be awarded in each category and for the best overall Case. So get your creative juices flowing and put your cases together. Club Fall Hunt Our Three Forks Fall Club Hunt will be held in November. The date and details have not been worked out yet. All ideas and suggestions for the upcoming hunt will be appreciated. We will also need a volunteer to run the Main Hunt. Maybe we can talk Randall into putting on his Golden Road Hunt again. Newsletter via Email Your club dues pays for your newsletter. You can get it any way you want. By Email, by paper, or both ways. Let me know how you want it. If you get it by just Email you are saving the club about $12.00 a year.
