Thanks to the leadership of match director Ranger Six, 51 Cowboy Action Shooters registered to compete in 20 categories. Saturday evening our guests enjoyed a Social followed by a Texas Style Bar-B-Que dinner featuring Brisket, Pork Roast and Turkey with all the fixin s, hosted by Armstrong Rosie and helpers Rebi Belfast McKnight, Winnie Chester, and Linda Miller. After dinner, the evening festivities continued with the N.E.W. Regulators tradition of awarding prizes to all guests by William Bowie and Ranger Six, after which William Bowie put on his auctioneer s hat and commenced in the role of auctioneer, another annual tradition which he started, the Saturday Night Auction during which items donated by individuals and local business owners are auctioned off to the highest bidders. As always, the highlight of the evening came with the last item offered for bid, William Bowie s annual commemorative handmade knife which is something to behold. The N.E.W. Regulators owe a debt of gratitude to William Bowie for all he contributes toward making the annual event a success. For him, It s the Right Thing to Do, and the Cowboy Way. Needless to say, by the close of the Saturday evening festivities, a good day had been enjoyed by all. 1
Sunday morning the posses formed up and commenced shooting the last 6 Stages of the match. After the smoke cleared and while waiting for the presentation of awards, several Cowboys & Cowgirls visited the Picture It Photography booth for Cowboy Action portraits.
