Junior Basketball Competition Registration Pack Friday Evenings SEASON DATES/TIMES PCYCNB will offer a U12 [mixed], U14 [boys] and U16 [boys] seasons which will run from April 6 th to August 24th 2018 with breaks during school holidays. Games will run Fridays from 5:00pm with time slots subject to demand. While every effort will be made to accommodate time preferences, no guarantees can be made. Next Available Competition Start 6 th of April 2018 Conclude 24 th of August 2018 Please see the draw for exact dates. Draw will be released prior to competition commencement. All competitions will have 2 weeks of finals. HOW TO REGISTER All team registrations are completed online. 1. Team Delegate to register the team online here or by visiting our website and following the links. Delegates will then be given a unique team code to pass onto rest of team. 2. Individual players must register online via a unique team code, and pay the individual registration fee of $40.00. All players must be registered before taking the court. 3. All players must be PCYC members. Annual membership is $10.00 under 17 years and must be completed before taking part in any games. This can also be done online via. website PLEASE NOTE THAT NO FIXTURES WILL BE ALLOCATED UNTIL PCYC HAS RECEIVED YOUR ONLINE REGISTRATION TEAM REGISTRATION Team registration sheets including ALL player details must be completed upon registration. PCYCNB will not roll over registrations from previous season. Only players who appear on the team sheet will be
eligible to play. Team captains are responsible for updating player details, and adding or removing players from team lists during season. A player must play at least 5 games to be eligible for finals. TEAM COMPETITION FEES Individual registration fee: $20.00 per player, per season. PCYC registration fee: $40.00 Game Fee: $50.00 per team, per game Forfeit Fee: $100.00, to be paid following round. Withdrawal Fee: $210.00 All players must be PCYCNB members. Annual membership $20.00. Games fees are to be paid at the reception desk BEFORE each game. Games will not start until both teams have paid, however the clock will start on time. TEAMS AND PLAYERS The PCYCNB recommends registering seven (7) players per team, with a maximum of ten (10) players registered. ALL players are to be individually registered on registration forms. TEAM DELEGATE A team delegate must be nominated on the team nomination form with complete contact details. In the event of a forfeit or any correspondence, the team delegate will be contacted by the PCYC. It will be the responsibility of the delegate to pass all correspondence onto their team. GAME DURATION Games are 2 x 20 minute halves. Running clock (last minute stop clock if game is within 5 points difference) One timeout can be taken per half for each team. The clock runs during timeouts and no timeouts permitted in the last 3 minutes of each half. SIGN ON All players must sign on on the score sheet before the start of a game by placing their shirt number next to their name. Late players must sign on before entering the court. The score sheet is located at the reception desk before each game, games will not commence without all participating players signed on. Borrowed players must sign on and indicate which team they are registered in. Borrowed players must be identified to match officials.

UNIFORMS All players in each team must wear matching shirt/singlet. All players must wear permanent shirt numbers on the front and back of their singlet. Temporary numbers such as tape or stickers are not permitted. Non marking shoes must be worn. Teams not complying with the uniform rules (shirt, taped numbers, etc) will be penalised. 2 points is given to its opposition for each player out of uniform on that particular game (Maximum of 8 points). All players must wear basketball shorts without pockets. No jewelry or objects that could cause abrasions may be worn during matches. FORFEITS 4 players must take the court for the game to start, with at least 3 registered members of the team, plus 1 borrowed player permitted. Teams have 10 minutes from the scheduled start of the game to take the court. A team must inform the PCYCNB of their intent to forfeit as soon as possible. If at least 24 hours notice is given that a team is forfeiting, a $50.00 forfeit fee will apply. Less than 24 hours notice, or failing to inform PCYCNB of your intention to forfeit will result in a forfeit fee of $100.00 and the loss of 3 competition points. Forfeit fees will need to be paid prior to commencement of the teams next scheduled game. Teams forfeiting 3 or more times in a season will not be allowed to register for the next season s competition unless a vacancy still exists after all other expressions of interest are placed. TEAMS BEING FORFEITED TO: The team delegate will be notified by phone in the event that the team s opposition intend to forfeit. A 20-0 win will be scored and all players from the team not forfeiting will be listed as having played. Teams may be contacted in relation to moving timeslots in the case of forfeits. The PCYCNB reserves the right to waive forfeit penalties in extenuating circumstances BORROWING PLAYERS:
A team may only borrow a maximum of 1 registered player under the following circumstances: 1. If a team has 3 originally rostered players on the court, then a maximum of 1 registered player can be borrowed making a total of (4) players on the court. 2. Teams cannot borrow other registered players if there are already 4 players on the court. 3. You may NOT borrow any players from divisions above your own eg. CANNOT borrow Division 1 player for Division 2 game. STARTING GAMES: The game clock will start on time when referees are ready. If one team is not ready [players on court, in uniform and team fees paid], they will be penalized 2 points for every FULL minute they are late. Maximum 20 points. DUTY/ BENCH: In order for the competition to run smoothly, it is expected that each team complete duty when requested and rostered to do so. Duty times will be released when new fixtures are made available, with team delegates being notified. It is up to the team delegate to check duty schedule. Failure to complete scheduled duty will result in a 3-point deduction from the competition ladder and a $30 team fine. This will be strictly adhered to by Management. FINALS: Teams will play 2 weeks of finals for all competitions. A player must have played 5 games their registered team to be eligible to play finals. Players cannot be borrowed for finals; only registered players who appear on the team sheet are eligible to play. Finals will follow a top 4 format, with division split into blocks of 4 where possible. Semifinals will be sudden death fixtures where 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3 with winner playing each other in the final. CONDUCT & PENALTIES: A zero tolerance policy is in effect during all Northern Beaches PCYC Basketball League competitions and events. Any people exhibiting violent, threatening or abusive behavior will be required to leave the venue and may face disciplinary guidelines Abuse of equipment will result in disciplinary action Any infractions regarding people exhibiting violent, threatening or abusive behavior will be assessed by the Disciplinary Committee in conjunction with the match officials and may result in suspensions or bans Players that consistently exhibit conduct towards officials and other players that, while not worthy of a suspension as an individual act, is constant in nature and deemed negative to the playing environment of the competition will be issued a warning. If the individual does not improve their conduct following the warning they can be suspended by the committee for between two and six games Any abuse to officials, verbal or physical will not be tolerated and will face disciplinary actions
Any player that is ejected from the game will receive an automatic 1 week suspension (Pending referee report more weeks or indefinite Centre ban may apply) Any player that receives three technical fouls during the course of the season will be suspend for one game, subsequent technical fouls above the third technical will result in a suspension of one game for each technical foul. These suspensions carry over into finals games. Any player that receives three unsportsmanlike fouls during the course of the season will be suspended for one game, subsequent unsportsmanlike fouls above the third unsportsmanlike foul will result in a suspension of one game for each unsportsmanlike foul. These suspensions carry over into finals games. If a player wishes to appeal a decision by Disciplinary Committee, they must contact Northern Beaches PCYC within seven days to arrange a hearing. Copies of the Northern Beaches PCYC Offences & Penalties Guidelines are available upon request. INJURIES: In the event of an injury, either the injured player, teammates or a spectator/parent must notify PCYCNB court supervisor immediately. If a player suffers an injury, an incident report must be completed prior to leaving the venue. This is the responsibility of the injured party, unless injury is deemed too severe to do so. PCYC NB staff may assist injured players, however none are medical professionals and all should be considered in this light. Treatment options are the responsibility of the injured party. COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE: Teams that wish to lodge a complaint must do so in writing by completing a match report form. Forms are available from reception upon request. Please be aware that this is the correct process for lodging complaints or concerns. Teams and players that confront staff, other players or match officials will face suspension or even expulsion from the competition.
