NEWSLETTER Snows Women s Auxiliary March 2018 Snows Women s Auxiliary Formed November of 2012 We are a service and social organization existing so that the women of Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church can be involved with assisting others while enjoying social activities. SWA March, 2018 Newsletter President s Article Officers Effective July 1, 2017: President: Susann Boley Vice Pres: Shari Ford Rec. Sec: Treasurer: Cindy McLaughlin Corr. Sec: Sgt at Arms: Newsletter Editor: I hope alll of our SWA ladies and their families are having a good Lent. Some excerpts from Pope Francis message for Lent say it better than I can: Lent summons us, and enables us, to come back to the Lord wholeheartedly and in every aspect of life. During Lent, we are asked to devote ourselves to seeking the Lord in prayer and reading Scripture, to service by giving alms, and to sacrifice self-control through fasting. He goes on to say, We are called not just to abstain from sin during Lent, but to true conversion of our hearts and minds as followers of Christ. (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) We at Our Lady of the Snows are very blessed to have a wonderful Lenten opportunity for learning - the 5 week Lenten Series. There are 3 sessions left in this series. Check out the flyer in the parish bulletin and make a commitment to be there. Snows Women's Auxiliary Mission Statement: Promote sociability among members and fellowship among the church s congregation. Promote charitable service to the church with activities each year, such as but not limited to, money for Christmas cheer, scholarships, help to needy families, donation of clothing, food for the poor and needy, and any other such activity approved by the members. Assist in promoting and supporting the members of Snows Women s Auxiliary and the Knights of Columbus, Council Number 4997. At our Officer s meeting, we all agreed that we feel the energy of all of the SWA activities that are percolating right now. We have a lot of ladies involved in some great upcoming activities. It s not too late for you to get involved. Simply contact anyone in charge of the various committees and ask them how you can help. The Committee List is on page 3. It s very satisfying to realize we are helping in a great cause, and making new friends all along the way. With Easter on April 1st, possibly before you will see our April issue of this newsletter, your SWA leadership want to wish you a very blessed and happy Easter season. Love, Susann
