Dear Field Trailers As you know we will be holding our spring trial this year in Hill City, Kansas, utilizing several sections of private ground. We have received an astounding amount of support from the entire community in putting this trial together including the Hill City Chamber of Commerce and many of the local farmers and ranchers. We therefore would ask everyone to be good guests. The rules for running on these grounds are pretty simple. 1. Clean up after ourselves, leaving the grounds as we found them 2. Fill in any dog holes and spread out the horse manure. Please, lets remember our gallery rule that NO ONE RIDE ON ANY WINTER WHEAT OR ANY OTHER PLANTED GROUND FOR ANY REASON! This was a universal request by all the land owners and expected to be honored. Camping Is allowed at the designated camp site only while the trial is taking place. There will be water for the horses and animals, but not for people. Horses Can be kept on the grounds, or for those wishing to they can be kept at the Graham County fairgrounds for $5.00 per night. Those using the facility are expected to clean the stalls daily and leave them as they found them. (From the stop light in Hill City South on Hwy 283 approx ¾ mile on East side of road. Lunch Saturday and Sunday will be provided by the High Plains Club and donations will be appreciated. Training There is no training on these grounds before or after the trial. Accommodations There are accommodations in Hill City as follows: Pheasant In B&B 785-421-2955 Pomeroy Inn B&B 785-421-2098 Western Hills Motel 785-421-2141 Norton has several motels as well and is approx. 20 mi to the north on Hwy 283. Prime Rib Dinner All trial participants are invited to a Northwest Kansas Prime Rib Feed On Saturday Night Mr. Butch Billips (one of the local ranchers whose ground we will be running on) and the High Plains Gordon Setter Club will be serving Prime Rib. Adults $10.00, Children $5.00, with the rest of the fixin s as Pot Luck. Anyone coming is asked to bring a side dish, salad or desert or Bud Long Necks. Please fill out the attached blue form and return with your entries, so we know how many are coming. Please make every effort to utilize the resources of Hill City. You may just do as little as top off your tank, before heading for home. Whatever support you can
give to the community, let them know who you are and why were in their town. As you know, this will go a long way in helping not only us as a group, but the field trial sport as well. Most of these folks have no idea what we do, however they will see us support their community and will in turn help us to secure more and better grounds to run on in the future. Thanks DIRECTIONS TO FIELD TRIAL GROUNDS In Hill City at intersection of Hwy 283 and Hwy 24 (only stop light in town) turn north on 283 for 8 miles to Graham County Road Y ( shale surface).
