Postell is also No. 6 on beam (9.856 average) and No. 7 on floor (9.887). Sophomore Rachel Tidd, the nation s top ranked bar worker for the last two weeks, is No. 4 in the latest rankings with a 9.894 average. She is ranked fifth in the all-around (39.25). Sophomore Nicolle Ford, whose bruised heel will likely keep her out of the all-around lineup for the second-straight week, is currently ranked No. 11 in the nation in the all-around (39.187 average). Ford is ninth on both bars (9.865) and beam (9.850). Senior Annabeth Eberle is tied for ninth on vault (9.865). As a team, Utah is ranked No. 1 on bars (49.155 average), No. 2 on vault (49.155) and beam (48.915) and No. 6 on floor (49.065). LAST WEEK, Rachel Tidd and Annabeth Eberle placed 1-2-3 in the allaround and led a banged up Ute team to a 195.275-194.450 victory at Minnesota. Despite an injury-adjusted lineup, Utah cruised through its first three events and established a nearly one and a half point lead going into the balance beam. There, the replacements didn t fare as well, with both falling. Tidd righted the Utes with a winning 9.825, and Eberle (9.75) and Postell (9.80) prevented further damage, to help the Utes improve to 5-0. Postell and Nicolle Ford tied for first on the bars. It was All-America allarounder Ford s only event of the night after she bruised her heel in the premeet vault warm-ups. Eberle and Tidd tied for first on the vault. UTE NOTES Utah s lineup is in flux due to a rash of injuries. Out for a second straight week will be Natalie Nicoloff (elbow), while Gabriella Onodi (ankle) is doubtful. Nicolle Ford (heel) is questionable for every event except bars. Day-to-day are Kristen Riffanacht (hamstring) and Rachel Tidd (back) Utah s seasonopening 197.675 is the highest score in the nation this season. However, when the rankings move to regional qualifying score on Feb. 21, that score will www.utahutes.com 2 be dropped from the calculation Freshman is Utah s win leader with 10. Other Ute victors: Ford (6), Annabeth Eberle (6), Tidd (6) and Gritt Hofmann (2) Four Utes have gone without a fall so far this season: Postell (17-17), Tidd (12-12), Nicoloff (3-3) and freshman Jessica Duke (2-2). SERIES SHORTS Utah leads the series with BYU 73-2. Utah is 34-0 all-time in Salt Lake City against the Cougars and 50-2 in regular season competition. The Utes have won the last 15 contests. BYU s last victory came in 1998 in Provo (196.050-195.975). The series began in 1976 and Utah did not suffer its first loss until 1994. BYU REVIEW Ranked No. 13 7-1 with its only loss to No. 9 Oklahoma in Cancun wins came against George Washington, Gustavus Adolphus, New Hampshire, Utah State, Texas Woman s and Southeast Missouri State season-high 196.125 last week top all-arounders are Jaime Mabray (39.65), Kristen Pauga (39.375) and Marie-Helene Claveau (39.375) head coach Brad Cattermole is 218-239-1 in his 18th season. In regular season competition, Marsden is 403-57-2. He has spent his entire career at Utah and has won 10 national championships, double that of any other coach. Four of those titles came in the 90s (1990, 92, 94, 95). Fifteen of his teams have placed in the top-three at the national championships, most recently in 2000 (second). Marsden is a seven-time National Coach of the Year recipient.

Fortunately, none of our injuries are serious. They ve just all come at the same time. Losing seven routines from our starting lineup is difficult to overcome yet I m thoroughly impressed with the job people such as Katie Kivisto and Jessica Duke are doing. It s also been helpful to get a dependable performer like Kristen Riffanacht back in the lineup. BYU appears to be a very competitive, extremely consistent team, and I know they ll be more than ready for our meet this Friday. BYU always seems to compete well here and we re expecting to battle through the last event. Our fans have seen two great college gymnastics meets so far and this one should be just as exciting. 2005 UTE SCORECARD Dominique D Oliveira, Jr. Former South African National team member has moved from No. 1 to No. 2 in Utah s bar lineup scored a season-best 9.875 on bars on Jan. 28 has hit 3-4 routines this year and 19-24 career routines.
