A full field of players contested the HUMPTY DOO OPEN last weekend, played in perfect conditions with beautiful weather on a well prepared course. Although a few of the pin placements caused problems for some players, a number of good scores were recorded. Ian Walker & Andrew Wilson both shot a 74 off the stick, and Ian Pegler scored a nett 63 on the first day! Congratulations to the overall winners: Ian Walker & Rebecca Adams. A very popular Seniors division was also included this year, with Lewer Stevens taking out the overall Senior Gross & Ian Pegler the overall Senior Nett. Well done to everyone who entered. It was great to see so many players from other NT clubs, as well as from interstate & even NZ! Many thanks to our valuable sponsor Chris Wilkins & Allied Pickfords, who have continued to support our Opens at Humpty Doo for many years. Thanks also to Denise, who manned the on course drinks cart, providing drinks to thirsty golfers over the whole weekend. Busy checking cards... Writing up the scores... Just a few of the winners... Match Committee members & volunteers did a great job preparing for the weekend, coordinating entries, checking cards & writing up the scoreboard, spotting out on the course & cooking the BBQ. Thanks to everyone who helped to ensure the event ran smoothly, especially Kerry & her staff, and the greenkeepers who managed to get the course in great condition. Detailed scores & results from the Humpty Doo Open can be found on the website under EVENTS. A couple of weeks ago an enthusiastic group of volunteers rolled up to help lay the concrete for the new push buggy storage shed. They were also kept busy erecting the new safety fence in front of the clubhouse. Thanks to Andrew, Tim, Chris, Kevin, Wayne & Ian for once again donating their time & energy to projects around the club. Our club continues to grow & improve as a result of the efforts of volunteers. Thanks also to Erik for renovating the memorial chairs located around the course.
