STANDARD CONDITIONS OF PLAY 1. Variations: The Women s Committee of Long Reef Golf Club may, from time to time, vary these conditions and shall resolve any dispute or question arising as to the qualification of any entrant and may, in its absolute discretion at any time and without assigning any reason therefore, refuse any entrant deemed ineligible to compete. 2. Disputes: All disputes shall be settled by the Match Committee (Women s Captain, Women s Vice Captain and another rules accredited member of committee.) 3. Play: Play shall be in accordance with the Rules of Golf (referred to as a Rule or Appendix) and the Local Rules of the Club. 4. Membership: Competitors must be playing members of Long Reef and any visitor must be a member of a Club affiliated with Golf New South Wales or an equivalent interstate or overseas association. 5. Suspension: In the event of a player being suspended by Long Reef Golf Club or any other affiliated Club on a golf related matter, the player shall not be eligible to enter or play in any event. 6. Handicap: Competitors must hold a Golf Australia handicap. 7. Starting Time: The Women s Committee reserves the right to establish and/or alter starting times. The Starter shall have authority to alter or re-arrange starting times. Players shall start at the time recorded on the timesheet. The penalty for a breach of Rule 6-3a is disqualification. However, it is a condition of the event that, in the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, if the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting time, the penalty for failing to start on time is loss of the first hole in match play or two strokes at the first hole in stroke play instead of disqualification. Competitors are requested to report to the starter 15 minutes before the appointed time given in the draw. If a competitor has not reported 5 minutes before the time her time may be allocated to a player on the waiting list 8. Pace of Play: Rule 6-7 will be enforced. Each group must maintain its position on the course with respect to the group in front. Any group with a clear hole in front of it will be considered out of position. Penalties will be issued to individuals in such groups who, by their pace, contribute to such delay. 9. Cancellation: Players unable to compete for any reason should cancel at least 30 minutes before their hit off time. P a g e 2 Updated 2 August 2017

10. Fees: Competitors must pay the prescribed competition fee as set down by the Committee. 11. Suspension of Play: The Optional Condition as prescribed in Appendix 1 is in effect. All practice areas are closed during suspension for a dangerous situation (e.g lightning) until the Committee has declared them open. Notes A suspension for dangerous situation will be signalled by one prolonged air-horn. Players must leave the course immediately. All other types of suspension will be signalled by three consecutive air-horn notes, repeated. Players may complete the hole being played before leaving the course. Resumption of play will be signalled by two short air-horn notes, repeated. 12. Ties. Except as provided in Special Conditions of an event, ties will be decided by the Golf Australia method of count back: 1. Holes 10 18 2. Holes 13-18 3. Holes 16-18 In the event of a tie still occurring, the count back will be hole by hole from the 18 th. For 36 hole events the second 18 holes will be used and if still tied the count back as in 18 hole events will be used. 13. Motorised Transport: is permitted 14. Mobile Phones: If a competitor is in possession of a mobile phone during a competition it must be turned off or in mute mode. If the phone rings it is deemed to be in use and this is considered a serious breach of etiquette and will attract a warning or disqualification under Rule 33-7. 15. Prizes: Will be determined by the Committee 16. Dress Regulations: Competitors must conform to Long Reef Golf Club s regulations. 17. Competitions. Thursdays are major competition days. Any player hitting off in an 18 hole or 9 hole competition will be officially handicapped. All women s 18 hole competitions including championships and medal rounds will be played off the women s red tees. NOTE Specific events, such as Club Championships may have additional Conditions. CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP, BRONZE AND C GRADE PREMIERSHIPS MATCH PLAY ALTERNATE YEARS Conditions of Play Open to all 5, 6 or 7 day members. Qualifying rounds shall be played over 36 holes stroke, 18 holes on each of two days (Midweek - Tuesday and Thursday). Match play as set down in programme. Qualifiers In each division there will be 8 to qualify Divisions Club Championship - Open Bronze Premiership - Handicaps 21.6 29.9 GA C Grade Premiership - Handicaps 30.0 45.4 GA Matches to be played as set down in Programme. Finals Club Championship - 36 holes in one day Bronze and C Grade - 18 holes Compulsory break after first 18 holes of Championship for lunch - provided by women members. Reduction of Handicap Once the draw is done a player may not change divisions even if there is a handicap change putting her into a different division. Should Bronze or C Grade players, after starting their Premierships reduce their handicaps, thus bringing them into another division, they will still be eligible to play in their original divisions. A player may not play in a division higher than that to which she is entitled on first qualifying round 36 Hole Net - Players handicap at the start of play for first qualifying round is her handicap over the 36 hole net. Ties In the event of several players tying to qualify, in any division, there will be a play off over holes 1, 2, and 3 with markers provided by the Committee. If still tied after 3 holes, playoff will be by sudden death. This play off will occur on the same day as second qualifying round. Countbacks Position of play, after qualifying, will be decided by count back over second qualifying round. Trophies Club Championship (Trophy) and Runner-up (Voucher) Bronze Premiership winner (Trophy) and Runner-up (Voucher) C Grade Premiership winner (Trophy) and Runner-up (Voucher) Championship winner also receives a Gold Medal Above trophies formally presented after Women s A.G.M. The following presented after final round of play: Trophies (from cabinet) are presented to Club Champion, Bronze Winner and C Grade Winner,and returned for engraving. The winners names are inscribed on the clubhouse Honour Board. The following presented after second qualifying round. 36 hole Gross in each grade 36 Hole net over the field (Handicap to be used is that on first day of play) The following trophies presented on day of play. 18 hole handicap event each qualifying round, all divisions nett and scratch. Club President and Club Captain to be invited to Championship Presentation Each of the 2 qualifying rounds will be 18 hole Stroke Event in 3 divisions Div 1 - Handicaps 0 21.5 GA Div 2 - Handicaps 21.6 29.9 GA Div 3 - Handicaps 30.0 45.4 GA Veteran Women s Premiership (originally donated by Quality at Work Pty Ltd Don/ Bill and Sandra Gillies) Best Scratch Score over two rounds of Championship Stroke Play. Three stroke rounds to be played over two weeks Tuesdays and Thursday two tees. The final round will be seeded. CLUB CAPTAIN S TROPHY General Information Trophy donated by Club on behalf of the Club Captain. This event is the POINTSCORE. Specific Conditions of Play Points to be awarded in each division for first, second and third scores for all 18-hole singles events played on Thursdays. Points to be allocated - 3 for first, 2 for second and 1 for third. If there are equal scores, points will be allocated in the conventional way, eg. If two players are equal first, they will each receive 3 points, next score(s) will be third and receive 1 point. etc. There must be at least 11 players in a competition for points to be allocated. The player with the greatest number of points to be the winner. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the person with the most number of 3 point awards. CLUB PRESIDENT S TROPHY General Information The best two net stroke rounds on designated dates (2017 R1 March 9 R2 July 20) Specific Conditions of Play In the event of ties a countback to apply on second round. COUNTBACK IN EVENT OF TIES In the event of a tie in a competition over 18 holes in Club and Open events, the count back will be over the last 9 holes on the card, irrespective of the order in which the holes were played. If still a tie, over the last 6 3 1, and then backwards one hole at a time. Note exception that there are no countbacks in Medal rounds there will be a play off in the next medal round. Should there still be a tie, medals will be awarded to the winners. For Stroke rounds, handicaps to be deducted as follows: Last 9 - deduct ½ handicap Last 6 - deduct 1/3 handicap Last 3 - deduct 1/6 handicap Last 1 - deduct 1/18 handicap 36 Holes Scratch - Count back over last 18 holes thence 9 6 3 1 36 Holes Net - Over last 18 holes, then 9 6 3 1 with adjustment of handicap deducted. 9 Holes competitions - Count back over last 9 6 3 1. DISQUALIFICATION Card not signed by marker and/or countersigned by competitor (Rule 6 6b) No handicap (sufficient if handicap appears anywhere on card). If the above conditions are not complied with, scorecard is accepted for handicapping and eclectic only. (See Rule 6 for other disqualifications) Long Drive and Nearest the Pin: Players winning these events and whose cards have been disqualified are still eligible to receive the trophies for these events. When the results of competitions have been announced the competition is then closed and no further disqualifications are allowed. Cards not returned at end of 9 hole competitions player disqualified. All Matches Players not at tee for time set down will be disqualified after 5 minutes have elapsed. If the player arrives within 5 minutes of her playing time, in the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification (Rule 33 7), she will lose the 1 st hole in match play or two strokes in stroke play at the first hole (Rule 6 3). CHAMPIONSHIP FOURSOMES (Matchplay alternate years) 36 holes stroke qualifying followed by Matchplay Conditions of Play Open to all 5, 6 or 7 day members. Qualifying rounds shall be played over 36 holes stroke, 18 holes on each of two days (Midweek Tuesday and Thursday). Match play as set down in programme. Qualifiers In each division there will be 8 to qualify, provided that there are more than 8 entries when Late Entries are entered on time sheet, regardless of actual number hitting off. If fewer than 8 pairs enter in any Division, there will be 4 to qualify. If only 4 to qualify, semi-finals will be played over 18 holes for the Championship, 18 holes for Bronze and C Grade Premierships. Seeded Draw for qualifying rounds. Draw for opponents automatic draw. Qualifying rounds over 36 holes stroke played over two days. Net event in conjunction - half combined handicaps. Divisions Championship - Open Bronze Premiership - Handicaps 21.6-29.9 GA C Grade Premiership - Handicaps 30.0 45.4 GA A Championship player playing with a bronze partner can only qualify in the Championship Division a Bronze player playing with a C Grade player can only qualify in the Bronze Division. Reduction in Handicaps Once the draw is completed players may not change divisions even if there is a handicap change putting them into a different division. General Final of Championship over 36 holes. A compulsory lunch break after 18 holes. Lunch provided by the Committee. Final of Bronze & C Grade Premiership over 18 holes. Automatic draw. Trophies Daily: for each qualifying round 18 hole handicap two divisions Winners / Runners Up each division Scratch winner for each division (scratch prizes budgeted) At the conclusion of qualifying rounds 36 hole Gross in each division 36 hole net over the field (handicap to be used is that on the first day of play) The following presented after final round of matchplay: Trophy (from cabinet) is presented to Club Champions, and returned for engraving. Bronze Winner and C Grade Winners acknowledged on the day The winners names are inscribed on the clubhouse Honour Board. Presentation A presentation is held after the finals with drinks and cheese. ECLECTIC COMPETITIONS From 2016 Eclectics have been computerised and final results available at end of period, The eclectics score is the lowest score attained at each hole during the competition. These scores are then totalled for the full 18 holes and subject to deduction of half the player s handicap as it stands on the last day of the competition. The player with the lowest score is the winner. Trophies: Those players who have opted in to Competition Contributions for the year are eligible for divisional eclectic prizes. There are two eclectic competitions 1 st and 2 nd half of the playing year as set down in the programme. GNSW WOMEN S 4BALL CHAMPIONSHIP A Golf NSW event played mid-week and on weekend with one or more teams to represent Long Reef at a regional, state and national level if successful. The competition involves two (2) competitors' playing as partners, each playing their own ball. Entry fee $5.00 per player sent to GNSW. Entries and draw. Play for mid-week and weekend players scheduled in the same week where possible. Players must elect to play either weekday or weekend. The winning team will be the team with the best result returned against Par. In the event of a tie between teams the system of countback as recommended by Golf Australia shall apply. Substitutes: These are permitted in the playoffs and in the final. Any or all of the members of the team which is runner-up may be used for entry into the playoff or for the final. Specific Conditions of Play Handicap limit Plus to 15.6 GA Open to 5/6/7 day women members. Seeded Draw A player may win only one major prize. In the event of a tie in the Gross Score, winner decided by sudden death and players can play together. In the event of a tie in the Net event decided by count back as per Golf Australia. Ball competition done on net scores. Trophies Best Gross and Runner-up Best Net (Depending on numbers there could be a net runner-up) The overall winner will receive a Gold Medal and voucher. MATCHPLAY General Information Matches to be played on day set down in the Programme Book. In special circumstances and at the discretion of the match Committee, the date of the Final may be altered. (In extreme circumstances consideration may be given to the playing of a match on a different day, provided it can be played before the next round.) All players must agree before any changes are made. Late arrivals: If a player arrives at the starting point ready to play within five minutes of the starting time, in the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is loss of the first hole to be played in match play or two strokes in stroke play. General Information MEDALS CLUB Six 18-hole stroke rounds held in conjunction with the GNSW medal rounds. Held from March to September, one each month when possible. (If necessary, two may be held in a month.) Specific Conditions of Play Played in three divisions as per Divisions for Competitions page 27 Entries Seeded draw. Handicaps: In the event of a play off, the handicaps applied to be the players GA handicap at the time of the medal round when the tie occurred. Ties: In the event of a tie, a play-off to be held on next medal round (except in special circumstances) If there is still a tie in the play off, medals to be awarded to both players. In the event of a tie in the last medal round, the play off to be played in the medal Winners Cup and then if still a tie countback procedure as per Golf Australia. MEDALS GNSW General Information Played in conjunction with Club Medals. Entry fee $5.00 Results in GNSW divisions. Trophies Division 1, 2 and 3 Medals are presented after the Women s A.G.M. Specific Conditions of Play Consist of 6 stroke rounds of 18 holes over a period on approximately 6 months. More than one medal per month may be played. Winner in each division is competitor returning the lowest aggregate score of three net scores. There is no minimum number for players in that round in any division. If the competition is played and only one player returns a score for a particular GNSW Medal round, that score must stand and the GNSW Medal round must not be reprogrammed. Cancellation of a round after play has commenced is permissible only if the course has been declared unplayable and the round declared null and void. In such an instance, the round may be reprogrammed. Take special note that entry fee must be paid before the players hit off for that round to count. Also note special conditions for awarding Mixed Medals applies to our Saturday field. Seven day members must elect to play in either of the GNSW Medals (Thursday or Saturday) Club Medals are open to all members eligible to play in that competition BUT the minimum field to award a medal on Saturday is 4 players. Nine Hole Competition Thursday Once electing to play daily nine hole competition players cannot then choose to play 18 holes on that day. NON TROPHY WINNER S TROPHY Eligibility: Weekday Players who have not won any other trophy for weekday events in the Programme Book are eligible to win this trophy. Winning of balls is not counted as a trophy. Players must have competed in at least six Thursday Competitions during the season to be eligible. A player who wins a trophy on the day of play is NOT eligible to win this trophy. WEEKEND PREMIERSHIP STROKE PLAY This event is played on Sunday over 2 rounds and is open to Women 6/7 day members. Winner has the lowest aggregate stroke result over two rounds. 36 hole net in conjunction (Handicap to apply is that of first day of play). In the event of a tie the play off the will be sudden death from the 1 st hole until a result is achieved. To be read in conjunction with the standard conditions of play. Winners name will be engraved on a trophy and is presented at the Major Presentation. Trophies presented at Annual Presentation Day for Men s Club Championship. Women s Captain and President are invited to attend. WEEKEND FOURSOMES Weekend Foursomes are played on one Sunday as set down in Programme. There are no qualifying rounds. The competition must have at least 8 players (4 Pairs). If less than 8 players enter, no competition will be held.
