2010 JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS RULES & GENERAL INFORMATION RULES: All TBA Tournament Rules and Regulations will apply. ELIGIBILITY: This tournament is open to all Junior bowlers (must NOT have had their 18th birthday by the 1st January 2010) and who are 2010 TBA Members. 2010 TBA Membership Cards or proof of purchase must be presented at check-in. NO REFUND AFTER ENTRIES CLOSE: Teams or Individuals who do not bowl in their allocated squads will not be entitled to claim a refund. Teams or Individuals who are unable to bowl in their event, can sell their spot to another competitor. Whilst the Tournament Committee will help where possible to reschedule entries, it is not the responsibility of the Tournament Committee to sell or recover money for unused entries. DRESS CODE: Bowler s must wear neat acceptable attire. No jeans, track pants, T shirts, tank tops or hats are to be worn whilst competing. Tournament sponsor attire may be permitted and at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. ENTERING AVERAGES: Each bowler must use their highest 2009 league average over a minimum of 18 games as of 30th November 2009. GRADINGS: Based on averages submitted, entries will be Graded in accordance with the Tournament Gradings Table. BOWLERS WITHOUT AN AVERAGE: Any bowler without an average as described, may apply to TBA for classification prior to submitting an entry. If no such application is received, then an entering average of 189 for Boys and 179 for Girls will apply. Note: Any bowler may enter in OPEN Grade. AVERAGE REVIEW: The Tournament Director reserves the right to review the average and regrade any bowler prior to, or after the commencement of play. Using an incorrect average may result in disqualification. REPLACEMENTS: Any change from the original Entry or line-up must be reported to the Tournament Office prior to the scheduled check-in time. GAMES TO BE PLAYED: In each Grade a three (3) game series will be played in Teams, Doubles and Singles. MULTIPLE PARTICIPATION TEAMS: The same five (5) bowlers may bowl together any number of times and in any different combination. DOUBLES: Bowlers may have unlimited entries with the same or different partner. SINGLES: Bowlers may have unlimited entries in their grade or any grade above their own classification. ALL EVENTS: An All Events Champion will be declared for each average classification for which paid entries are received. Scores from each bowler s BEST appearance in Teams, Doubles and Singles will count towards All Events total. Scores in the Mixed Teams and Mixed Doubles will count towards All Events. Entering average will determine All Events classification unless a higher classification is requested. Eligibility is subject to the payment of the $6.00 All Events Fee.$ This Fee must be paid BEFORE bowling in their first Event. PRIZE FUND: Trophies, medallions, shirts, awards and any other prizes will be purchased from the total prize fund received in each event. The Championships prize fund distributed in cash or cheque, will be the balance remaining after purchases have been made and will be paid in the ratio of one (1) prize for every ten (10) entries, except in All Events where the ratio will be one (1) prize for every twenty (20) entries. PARTICIPATION CERTIFICATES: Certificates will be available from the Tournament room. Persons wanting Participation Certificates should advise Tournament staff upon arrival. Please identify the years of participation for each player in the space provided on the Player Registration form. PLAYER CREDENTIALS: Players requesting copies of Credentials, must provide a stamped self-addressed envelope when submitting their Entries. Alternatively, credentials can be faxed or emailed if a facsimile number or email address has been supplied. (Refer to Registration Form) CHILD PROTECTION: All Managers, Coaches and Junior Guardians must sign the relevant Declaration prior to taking part in the Championships in Victoria. The forms can be downloaded from the TBA web site on the Junior National page. Participation will not be permitted without a signed Declaration. MOBILE PHONES: Competitors mobile phones must be turned off while competing in an event. NOTE - Any matters arising which are not covered by these Tournament Rules will be determined by the TBA Tournament Committee. 2010 NATIONAL BUMPER CHALLENGE Thursday 8th April 2010 - Check-in by 2.30pm This tournament is open to all TBA Bumper Bowlers under 10 years of age. This is a handicap event based on 100% of 150 and handicaps will be allocated against entering averages. Bowlers are not permitted to use ramps or be assisted in the delivery of the ball. COST OF EVENT: $15.00 Entries close: 2.30pm Thursday 8th April 2010. Late entries will be accepted if positions are still available. FORMAT - Bowlers will bowl two (2) games on the same pair of lanes. At the end of the tournament the bowler with the highest pinfall including handicap will be declared the winner. PRIZES Medallions will be awarded to the first three place getters. Participation Certificates will be awarded to the participants. Early Entries will be given priority. The $120.00 cost of final is to be paid once the final 24 teams are announced. TEAM STORM This tournament format uses the baker style 5 person team where player one bowls frames 1 and 6, player 2 bowls frames 2 and 7, etc. All participants must be members of TBA. QUALIFYING ROUND ONE: Each team will bowl 4 games in two squads. A Squad at 4.30pm and B Squad 5.30pm. FINALS ROUND TWO: 8.00pm Top 24 teams from Round One will play 4 games. Pinfall will carry over from Round One. ROUND THREE: WINNERS BRACKET - Top 12 teams from Round Two will bowl a further 2 games to determine the top 6 teams to go through to Round 4 Winners Bracket. Pinfall from Round Two will carry over. Losing teams go through to Round 4 Losers Bracket. LOSERS BRACKET - Teams placed 13th to 24th from Round Two will play a further 2 games to determine the top 6 teams to go through to Round 4 Losers Bracket. Pinfall from Round Two will carry over. Remaining teams in the Losers Bracket are eliminated. ROUND FOUR: WINNERS BRACKET - Top 6 teams from Round Three Winners Bracket will bowl a further 2 games to determine the top 4 teams to go through to the Step Ladder Final. Pinfall from Round Three will carry over. Remaining teams go through to Round 5. LOSERS BRACKET - Losing 6 teams from Round Three Winners Bracket and Top 6 teams from Round Three Losers Bracket bowl a one game sudden death match against random opponents. 6 winning teams will continue to Round Five. Losing teams are eliminated. ROUND FIVE: Eight teams from Round Four (2 from Winners bracket and 6 from Losers Bracket) bowl a one game random draw match. 4 winning teams will continue to Round Six. Losing teams are eliminated. ROUND SIX: Four teams from Round Five bowl a one game playoff. Winning team will continue to Step Ladder Final. Losing teams are eliminated and will receive Round Six Losers prize. STEP LADDER FINAL: Game 1: Winner of Round Six v. Fourth Place Round Three Winners Bracket Game 2: Winner of Game 1 v. Third Place Round Three Winners Bracket Game 3: Winner of Game 2 v. Second Place Round Three Winners Bracket Game 4: Winner of Game 3 v. First Place Round Three Winners Bracket Champions will be the winner of Step Ladder Game 4 with no repechage. Stepladder matches are a one game match. In the event of any ties in the step ladder finals, a single game will be played to break the tie. Any subsequent tie will require a 10th frame playoff until the tie is broken.

2010 JUNIOR CLASSIC CUP ELIGIBILITY - This is a scratch event which is open to all junior members of Tenpin Bowling Australia Limited with an average no greater than Boys 189 and Girls 179. All bowlers (including the Defending Champions) must have completed an All Events entry in the 2010 Australian Junior National Championships. FORMAT - This is a scratch event with separate divisions for Boys and Girls and is conducted in two (2) separate stages. Stage 1- Qualifying - Qualifying will be the highest three (3) game singles or doubles attempt bowled during the Championships until completion of the 1.30pm squad on Sunday 11th April. Any Singles or doubles attempt used for Classic Cup qualifying will incur an additional qualifying fee of $10.00 (Ten dollars) which must be paid prior to the squad in which the bowler is participating. Stage 2 - Final - Top 24 qualifiers in Boys and Girls will bowl 8 games in blocks of 2 games changing lanes after each block. To be eligible to compete in the final, every bowler must have completed an All Events" entry in the 2010 Australian Junior National Championships. QUALIFYING - Qualifying will be the highest 3 game Mixed Doubles attempt plus entering handicap bowled during the Championships until completion of the 1.30pm squad on Monday 12th April. Any 3 game Mixed Doubles attempt used for qualifying will incur an additional fee of $10.00 (Ten Dollars, $5 per person) which must be paid prior to the squad in which the bowlers are participating. Please note that confirmation of entering average and handicap may be requested. Your qualifying attempt(s) for this event will go towards your All Events score. Handicap calculation will be determined from the sum of the male and female bowler s entering handicap divided by two. FINAL - The top 24 qualifiers will go into the final according to their qualifying score. In the event of a tie for the final qualifying position a single game will be played to break the tie. Male will lead off. Scratch pinfall plus entering handicap will decide. Any subsequent tie will require a 9th & 10th frame playoff plus 2 x 1/10 handicap until the tie is broken, female to lead off. STAGE ONE ELIMINATION FINAL - Finalist will play four (4) games in two (2) game blocks in a Scotch Doubles format, with a lane change after two (2) games. Evens two pair to the right, odds two pair to the left. Scotch Doubles format requires bowlers to alternate their shots throughout the entire game. Male bowler is to lead off in the first game of a match and the female bowler is to lead off in the second game of a match The top 8 doubles combinations on total scratch plus entering handicap pinfall will advance to Stage 2, being seeded 1 through 8 in order of handicap pinfall. In the event of a tie the above rules will apply. Stage One pinfall will be dropped. STAGE TWO - MATCHPLAY - Each match is contested over one (1) game with scratch pinfall plus entering handicap determining the winner. The top eight will then play seven (7) matches of head to head with 20 bonus points for a win and 10 bonus points for a draw. Total pinfall plus bonus points will determine the overall winners. In the event of a tie, the above rules will apply. Bonus points will not count. FINAL COST Monday 12th April 2010 Check-in by 6.00pm for 6.30pm start. 2010 TBA NATIONAL JUNIOR MASTERS Eligibility - This is a scratch event which is open to all junior members of Tenpin Bowling Australia Limited. To be eligible to compete in the final, every bowler (including the Defending Champions, if eligible) must have completed an All Events" entry in the Championship. There will be a male and female division and all rules apply to both divisions. Qualifying - Qualifying series will be the highest three (3) game singles or doubles attempt bowled during the Championship until completion of the 11.30am squad on Friday 16th April. Any Singles or Doubles attempt used for qualifying will incur an additional qualifying fee of $10.00 (Ten dollars) which must be paid in the Tournament Room prior to the squad in which the bowler is participating. This applies to the Defending Champion and State representatives as well. Maximum of 40 qualifiers per Division will compete in the final. Seedings - All finalists will be seeded from their qualifying score. The Defending Champion and all State and Territory Masters Champions can not be eliminated by virtue of their qualifying score. If any State or Territory Masters Champion does not exercise their right to participate in the Final, the number of qualifying positions available will be increased by one for each right not exercised. In the event of a tie for 4th, 16th or 40th qualifying positions, a single game will be played to break the tie. Any subsequent tie will require a 9th & 10th frame playoff until the tie is broken. Final Each match will be the best of 5 games, single elimination. Round 1 Bowlers seeded positions 1 through 4 will receive a double round bye to Round 3. Bowlers seeded positions 5 through 16 will receive a single round bye to Round 2. Bowlers filling qualifying positions 17 through 40 will compete in Round 1. Round 2 Bowlers seeded positions 5 through 16 will compete against the winners from Round 1. Round 3 Bowlers seeded positions 1 through 4 will join the 12 winning bowlers from Round 2. Round 4 Round 3 winners continue. Round 4 Losers will finish 5th equal for the purposes of prize fund distribution. Semi Final Round 4 winners continue. Semi Final Losers will finish 3rd for the purposes of prize fund distribution. Grand Final Semi Finals winners continue. The Winner will be declared the 2010 National Junior Masters Champion. Ties - In the event of any ties in a match, total pinfall over the 5 games in a match will determine the winner of that match. Any subsequent tie will require a 9th & 10th frame playoff until the tie is broken. Check-in Time - Round 1 Check-in by 2.30pm Friday 16th April 2010. ALL Bowlers including those receiving bye(s). All finalists will be presented with a medallion and will be expected to take part in a group finalists photo. If a player fails to check-in for the Finals, the highest available non-qualifier will be invited to replace the absent player. The replacement bowler will be added into the final in seeding order based on qualifying score. After the first match, no further replacements will be permitted. Non-appearance will result in forfeiture of the match with the player present bowling without opposition, and advancing to the next round. All players will be given practice on the pair of lanes assigned for their single elimination match Saturday 17th (Round 3) Remaining 16 Boys and 16 Girls will continue the Masters final. No Check-in is required. Lanes will go on for warm-up at 8.55am and play will start at 9.00am. Bowlers arriving after 9.00am will be credited with zero pinfall for each frame missed. ENTRY FEES Fees for Finalists will be $100.00 per Qualifier. The Defending Champions have a free entry.
