2019 U M M E R PROGRAM GUIDE REGISTRATION INFORMATION Welcome to the Tarboro Parks and Recreation s summer program offerings. The summer schedule will again consist of weekly or monthly sessions. Each class size is limited to the number of weeks and participants it will accommodate depending on the type of activity the class involves. Registration will begin on Wednesday, May 1 at E. L. Roberson Center (305 West Baker Street) which is open from 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Classes are on a first come, first serve basis by completing the registration form with payment. No registrations will be taken before May 1 nor can they be taken over the telephone. Parents or guardians must register their children only. All programs may be rescheduled or cancelled based on class size. Payment is required when submitting Youth Athletic registrations. FEES All fees either Town of Tarboro resident or non-resident must be paid at the time of registration. You must live inside the corporate limits of Tarboro at the time of your registration in order to be charged the Town of Tarboro resident rate. Non-residents pay twice the normal fee or $25 whichever is greater. Refunds will only be available if the class or program is cancelled. In this brochure, the following fees indicate the Town Resident Rate. Non-Residents must add-on for the non-resident fee. Mon-Fri 6-7:30 pm Sessions: June 24-28; July 8-12 Thursday, July 4th 6:00-9:00 pm Stay to Watch Fireworks by Zambelli Join us at Braswell Park for July 4th on the Lawn. Beginning at 6pm, play in the park with children s games, inflatables, DJ with line dancing, food vendors and more summer fun. Bring your lawn chairs and entire family to enjoy playing in the park and then viewing the fireworks. Around 9:15 pm, the fabulous fireworks will be displayed from Tarboro High School grassy parking lot. For safety reasons, spectators will have restricted access within 500 feet (safety drop zone) of the display set-up area. No personal fireworks (open flames) or pets allowed, thank you. Page 2

JR. TROJANS SUMMER CAMP Ages 5-13 Summer fun at M.A. Ray Center s camp with afternoons that are full of activities and field trips supervised by staff. Mon-Fri 12-5 pm Camp will be divided into two 4 week sessions: Session I: June 17-July 12 Session II: July 15 August 9 FEE: $5/$25 HOOSIER B-BALL CAMP Ages 5-13 Camp is designed to develop skills such as dribbling, passing plus coordination and shooting. Mon, Wed, Fri 10-11 am Session: July 8-19 GRIDIRON FOOTBALL CAMP Ages 5-14 Camp is designed to develop skills of confidence, coordination, and football offense/defense. Mon-Fri 10-11:15 am Session: June 17-21 M.A. RAY CENTER: call 641-4215 DECORATIVE DESIGNS WORKSHOP Ages 5-14 This course provides constructive, hands-on activities for youth to artistically express themselves. Tues & Thu 10-11:30 am Session: July 8-19 FEE: $15/$30 BICYCLE RODEO/FAMILY DAY Hosted with Tarboro Police, the annual Bicycle Rodeo will be held at 9 am for kids ages 5-12 and is free to the public. Bring your own bike. Kids will take part in events such as cycling, braking, signaling, and turning. After the rodeo, stay for Family Day at Clark Park with music, games, and plenty of food. FREE. Sat, June 22, 9 am SPIRIT WEEK Ages 5-12 Learn cheers, jumps, and chants. Mon, Wed, Fri 10-11 am Session: July 8-19 BACK 2 SCHOOL BASH M.A. Ray Center will be having a Back 2 School Bash with free games, food and family fun. Also giving away free school supplies. AQUATICS: call 641-4263 SWIMMING LESSONS FOR CHILDREN Ages 4-15 Two week swimming lesson meets Mon-Fri at Community Pool where children will be taught basic swimming skills for all levels. No class July 4th. Register for Class I or Class II per session. CLASS I : 10-10:45 am CLASS II : 11-11:45 am SESSION I SESSION II SESSION III June 17-28 July 1-12 July 15-26 FEE/SESSION: $25 in town residents/$50 out of town residents INFANT Birth-3 years Two week swimming lesson meets Mon-Thu at Community Pool where instructor leads parents along with infant in basic swimming skills such as water immersion, floating, kicking and more. No class July 4th.
