Presidents message Michael Thornton All We will have our monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 4th. Due to prior committments, Camp Glisson will be unable to host the meetings for March and April. We will be meeting at the Dahlonega Funeral Home, 20 Gibson Road, Dahlonega. More simply, it is on Hwy 60, soon after it crosses Ga 400. If you are going to Dahlonega, it sits on the left on a hill. (SEE DIRECTIONS ON PAGE 4 ) Our program this month is timely. Alex Watson will be speaking to us on cold waters fisheries restoration. Alex is a co chair with Kevin McGraff on the Council committee. This was "Back the Brookie", but is now the Cold Water Fisheries Program. Our Chapter donates $1000 a year to this initiative. In the past, many of us have had questions as to how this money was spent. Now, Alex is here to tell us. So, after the bad weather of the past month, come out and see your friends. Have a great meal, provided by Krista and Cole Landy. Listen to an informative and entertaining program. See you there, Mike

Presidents message March is almost upon us, and hopefully, so is warmer weather. Over the next few months, it should become more comfortable to spend a day on the water, and the fishing should improve. Sounds like a little slice of heaven, doesn t it? March is shaping up to be a busy month as our year starts into the most active portion. First up is our monthly meeting on March 4 th. Alex Watson is our program. Alex is the Council co-chair of the Cold Water Fisheries Program. He will be explaining to us about the initiatives which are to keep our trout waters fertile. Please try to come. Please note that our meeting place for March and April will be the Dahlonega Funeral Home, on Hwy 60, shortly after it crosses Ga 400. There will be a Council Meeting on Saturday March 8th in Roswell. If you ve never been, you should try to attend at least one. It shows a side of TU we don t normally see at the Chapter level. Content is informative, and the company is good. Why don t you come spend a Saturday morning with us? If you ve never come to one before, I ll buy your lunch that day. The next weekend, we have Tie-One-On at BassPro Shop. All tiers in the Chapter are invited to participate. This is going o be one fun day. There will be tiers from all the chapters in the Council. Our own Win Crannell will be doing a trout print as we tie. For a great day of comaraderie, and to support a charitable cause, come help us at BassPro that day. Friday, March 21 st is an important day for our Chapter. At one time, we had a Chapter fishing trip once a month. Somehow, over the years, those trips no longer occurred. Ken and I both think it is important we try to get this program started again. Our first trip will be to the Tuck to take advantage of the end of Delayed Harvest Season in NC. The trip should take all day and is open to any one who wants to attend. Check your calendar and clear the day, and come join us. Last, but not least, Saturday, March 22 nd is the annual Hoot on the Hooch at the Helendorf Inn In Helen. This the Foot Hills Chapter s annual fund raiser and one heck of a lot of fun.

Program All, Our next meeting will be Tuesday, February 4,at 6:30p at the Dahlonega Funeral Home The program : --- Program will be presented by Alex Watson--------- March we will have Alex Watson present a program on the Cold Water Fisheries Program. Alex is a Council Co-chair of the program. This is really getting down to the grass roots of what we do as a Chapter and an organization. This initiative helps fund cold water stream restoration in Georgia and our Chapter has played a part in both funding and man hours to support these projects. Alex will better explain the goals and workings of this committee. As you can see, these programs will be dynamic. Beat the winter blahs. Come to the
