2012 NRA Georgia Championship 1600 - Conventional Smallbore Rifle Prone An NRA Registered Tournament Sponsored by River Bend Gun Club, Inc., Dawsonville, GA August 18-19, 2012 Special Program Note: This tournament is part of a combined NRA-sanctioned dual state championship for both Metric and Conventional smallbore rifle prone disciplines. Fired matches on Saturday, August 18 will include two Metric Metallic Sight 40-shot matches and two Conventional Metallic Sight 40-shot matches. Fired matches on Sunday, August 19 will include two Metric Any Sight 40-shot matches and two Conventional Any Sight 40-shot matches. The 2012 NRA Metric State Champion will be the Georgia resident with the high 160-shot aggregate score of the four Metric matches fired over both days. The 2012 NRA Conventional State Champion will be the Georgia resident with the high 160-shot score of the four Conventional matches fired over both days. The 2012 NRA Junior State Champion for each discipline will be the Georgia resident Junior competitor with the high 160-shot aggregate score of the four fired matches of the respective disciplines over both days. If the high aggregate score of either or both disciplines (Metric or Conventional) is fired by a Georgia resident Junior competitor, he or she will be the NRA State Champion and the second high aggregate Georgia resident Junior competitor will be the NRA Junior State Champion. In addition to the NRA Metric State Champion and NRA Conventional State Champion, the Georgia resident with the high 320-shot grand aggregate of both disciplines (Metric and Conventional) will be the 2012 Georgia Smallbore Prone Champion. River Bend Gun Club, Inc. (RBGC) and its members extend a cordial invitation to you to compete in the 2012 NRA Metric Smallbore Rifle Prone Georgia State Championship on the banks of the Etowah River. The GPS Coordinates at River Bend Gun Club are: N34 20.198 W084 14.819. The competition venue, Multi-purpose II Range (MP2), has 40 paved and covered firing points. RV parking is permitted at MP2 and the club also has a pleasant area designated for camping. Please Note - All competitors must sign an RBGC liability release before competing. Liability releases for junior competitors under 18 years of age must be signed by an adult guardian. Also, please remember that RBGC non-member guests are limited to use of the MP2 range only during tournaments when the match staff is present. Should you need to use MP2 or any other range or club facility when the match staff is not present, club rules require that guests be signed-in and accompanied by an RBGC member in good standing. The.22 Caliber Rimfire Rifle as defined in NRA Smallbore Rifle Rules 3.2 (Any Rifle) applies. Per Rule 3.21, the requirement for a smallbore empty chamber indicator (ECI) to indicate that the chamber is empty will be strictly enforced. Georgia residents must be a member of Georgia Sport Shooting Association (GSSA) and nonresidents must be a member of the NRA-affiliated state association of their respective state of residence. Membership in the NRA is not required. If not a member of GSSA, junior competitors may be a member of the NRA or a member of an NRA-affiliated club. Competitors may join GSSA at the statistical office prior to the tournament. Special Program Note: This tournament is part of a combined 2-day 3-state championships for NRA metric, NRA conventional and the combined Georgia Smallbore Prone State Champion. The programs include two metric metallic sight matches and two conventional metallic sight matches on Saturday and two metric any sight matches and two conventional any sight matches on Sunday. The Georgia Metric State Champion will be the Georgia resident with the high 160-shot aggregate metric score (Match 9) and the Georgia Conventional State Champion will be the Georgia resident with the high 160-shot aggregate conventional score (Match 10). Be sure to indicate your correct NRA Metric classification and NRA membership or classification number if you have one. If you are not an NRA member, a number will be assigned to you for classification purposes only. Advance entries will be accepted up to range capacity based on earliest postmarks. Entries beyond range capacity will be notified by e-mail or telephone on or about August 15. Post entries will be accepted up to the stated range capacity. There is no additional fee for post entries but advance entries are appreciated. Classification: Any Sight-Only Competitors: Targets: Challenges: The NRA classification system will be used in all individual matches. Individual competitors without an NRA classification will fire in the Master Class. Rule 19.6 (assigned classification) or Rule 19.2 (temporary classification) may be used in making entry in an NRA Regional Tournament. Senior competitors and others may, at their option, compete with telescopic sights throughout the tournament and thus compete in a separate Any Sight-only class. A minimum of five (5) Any Sight- Only competitors is required to form an Any Sight-Only class/category. Any Sight-Only competitors are not eligible to be State Champion. Official NRA Conventional targets will be used: A-50 at 50 meters and A-33 at 100 yards. Competitors will mark and hang their own targets before each match stage. Target clips are required and must be furnished by each competitor. Targets will be scored by the Statistical Office staff under the supervision of the Chief Statistical Officer. Scored targets will be available for inspection by competitors in the Statistical Office. Challenges and protests will be addressed as described in Rule 16. A $2.00 challenge fee will be charged for challenges on a competitor s own target and a $5.00 challenge fee will be charged for challenges on another competitor s target. Challenge fees will be collected by the Statistical Office before making the first recheck. Challenge fees will be returned if the challenge is sustained at any point along the line of rechecks. Schedule Of Awards: Scoring Of Challenged Shots And Shots Of Questionable Value: The plug type scoring gauge will be restricted to use by range operating personnel including range officers, chief statistical officer, and one or more of the three members of the jury who will be selected prior to firing time. Georgia Conventional State Champion: The Georgia resident competitor with the highest aggregate score (Match 10 [other than Any Sight-Only competitors]) is the Georgia Conventional State Champion. The Georgia Conventional State Champion will receive a Conventional State Champion award plaque. Georgia Junior State Champion: The Georgia resident junior competitor (Match 9 [other than Any Sight-Only competitors]) is the Georgia Metric Junior State Champion. The Georgia Metric Junior State Champion will receive a Metric Junior State Champion award plaque. If the Georgia Metric State Champion is a junior competitor, the Georgia Metric State Championship will be awarded to the Georgia resident junior competitor with the next higher aggregate score (Match 9) Class and Category Winners of the 1600 aggregate (Match 9) will receive a medal in recognition of their accomplishment. A minimum of 5 competitors is required to form a class and/or category. The.22 Caliber Rimfire Rifle as defined in NRA Smallbore Rifle Rules 3.2 (Any Rifle) applies. Per Rule 3.21, the requirement for a smallbore empty chamber indicator (ECI) to indicate that the chamber is empty will be strictly enforced. Georgia residents must be a member of Georgia Sport Shooting Association (GSSA) and nonresidents must be a member of the NRA-affiliated state association of their respective state of residence. Membership in the NRA is not required. If not a member of GSSA, junior competitors may be a member of the NRA or a member of an NRA-affiliated club. Competitors may join GSSA at the statistical office prior to the tournament. Special Program Note: This tournament is part of a combined 2-day 3-state championships for NRA metric, NRA conventional and the combined Georgia Smallbore Prone State Champion. The programs include two metric metallic sight matches and two conventional metallic sight matches on Saturday and two metric any sight matches and two conventional any sight matches on Sunday. Classification: Any Sight-Only Competitors: Targets: Challenges: The NRA classification system will be used in all individual matches. Individual competitors without an NRA classification will fire in the Master Class. Rule 19.6 (assigned classification) or Rule 19.2 (temporary classification) may be used in making entry in an NRA Regional Tournament. Senior competitors and others may, at their option, compete with telescopic sights throughout the tournament and thus compete in a separate Any Sight-only class. A minimum of five (5) Any Sight- Only competitors is required to form an Any Sight-Only class/category. Any Sight-Only competitors are not eligible to be State Champion. Official NRA Conventional targets will be used: A-50 at 50 meters and A-33 at 100 yards. Competitors will mark and hang their own targets before each match stage. Target clips are required and must be furnished by each competitor. Targets will be scored by the Statistical Office staff under the supervision of the Chief Statistical Officer. Scored targets will be available for inspection by competitors in the Statistical Office. Challenges and protests will be addressed as described in Rule 16. A $2.00 challenge fee will be charged for challenges on a competitor s own target and a $5.00 challenge fee will be charged for challenges on another competitor s target. Challenge fees will be collected by the Statistical Office before making the first recheck. Challenge fees will be returned if the challenge is sustained at any point along the line of rechecks. Schedule Of Awards: Scoring Of Challenged Shots And Shots Of Questionable Value: The plug type scoring gauge will be restricted to use by range operating personnel including range officers, chief statistical officer, and one or more of the three members of the jury who will be selected prior to firing time. Georgia Metric State Champion: The Georgia resident competitor with the highest aggregate score (Match 9 [other than Any Sight-Only competitors]) is the Georgia Metric State Champion. The Georgia Metric State Champion will receive a Metric State Champion award plaque. Metric Junior State Champion: The Georgia resident junior competitor (Match 9 [other than Any Sight-Only competitors]) is the Georgia Metric Junior State Champion. The Georgia Metric Junior State Champion will receive a Metric Junior State Champion award plaque. If the Georgia Metric State Champion is a junior competitor, the Georgia Metric State Championship will be awarded to the Georgia resident junior competitor with the next higher aggregate score (Match 9) Class and Category Winners of the 1600 aggregate (Match 9) will receive medals in recognition of their accomplishment. A minimum of 5 competitors is required to form a class and/or category.
