SPRING VALLEY ANGLERS INSIDE THIS ISSUE: APRIL 2008 PAGE Vision for 2 2008 2008 Travel 3 Trips New Zealand 4 2008 IMPORTANT SVA News 5 Product Spotlight 5 Fishing 6 Report SVA Update Spavinaw Beats I and II have been purchased and we have begun to sell riverfront and non-riverfront lots as part of our Equity Membership. Purchasers will have the option to build or to leave their lot undeveloped. Four lots have already been sold so if you are interested in becoming an Equity Member please contact Adam for more information. Through a reciprocal partnership with Spring Ridge Club and Alpine River Club, headquartered in Pennsylvania and Colorado respectively, our members have access to their private waters for a per day rod fee. Their club is widely regarded as the most exclusive and expensive private fly fishing club in existence and their waters are arguably the finest private trophy trout waters in the U.S. Our plans to expand our fly fishing and hunting properties will include the addition of trophy trout water and hunting acreage in Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Georgia, Colorado, New Mexico and Montana. We will purchase or lease as many of these properties as possible by next October. Detailed information about the highlights mentioned above can be found in our updated Vision for 2008. PAGE 2 Our Vision for 2008: Vision for 2008 Equity Membership The purchase of Spavinaw Beats I and II gives our members the opportunity to purchase a limited number of lots that can be built on or left un-developed. We will help manage the building process if you would like to build and we will maintain the property on a full-time daily basis. Roads, underground electric, water and sewer will be in place within 60 days. Purchasers of lots will receive benefits and access to properties offered only to Equity Members. Spring Ridge Club/Alpine River Club Reciprocal Partnership- Our partnership with Spring Ridge Club and Alpine River Club is a monumental step for our club. Membership into Spring Ridge Club includes a $90,000 initiation fee and annual dues of $8000. Members of SVA will have access to the same waters in Pennsylvania, Colorado and Ohio for a daily rod fee. If you would like to reserve a day of fishing or would like more information about Spring Ridge Club contact Adam. Future Properties We have identified no less than 8 fly fishing and hunting properties in Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Georgia, Colorado, New Mexico and Montana that we plan to purchase or lease. Our goal will be to have most of these properties secured by Fall of 2008, just in time for the upcoming fishing and hunting seasons. The addition of these properties along with our Spring Ridge Club partnership will more than double the amount of water that our members can fish and hunt. New Members- We are only considering member referrals for new memberships. All new members will be required to pay an initiation fee in addition to annual dues. After our April renewal in which we retained 62 of 67 members, we currently have five memberships available. If you know of someone that would be a good fit for our club please let us know.

SVA News PAGE 5 SVA Key Additions We have been blessed to add two new permanent members to the SVA staff. Phil Napolitan, formerly a pitcher with the Detroit Tigers has been acquired by SVA via a trade for a player to be named later and a small amount of cash. Phil will assume the role of Vice President and General Manager and will be a huge asset to SVA. We have also added Sage the quintessential fly shop dog. Sage will play a major role in making all of our members feel welcome when they visit our Fly Shop. 2008 SVA Fly Fishing Schools We will be offering 3 schools this summer for our members and their guests that are interested in improving their fly fishing skills. The schools will be May 3rd and 4th, May 17th and 18th and June 28th and 29th. They will take place in Tulsa and will be two day events. You will learn how to cast more accurately and with greater distance, how to tie stronger knots, what flies to use and when to use them and many other essentials to fly fishing. With a 2 to 1 Participant to Pro Staff ratio, each participant will receive instruction specific to their individual skill level. The cost of the school is $395 per person. New Zealand DVD If you are interested in watching 45 minutes of the finest fly fishing footage ever filmed in New Zealand then you will want to get your hands on our New Zealand DVD. Shot on location in New Zealand, we took 10 professional fly fishers with us and filmed what has been widely hailed as the Best Picture of 2008. A Sneak Preview of the DVD will be shown Sunday, May 18th in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Melting Pot restaurant. Please RSVP if you would like to attend. SVA Fly Shop Moving to Beat 3 The Fly Shop has moved to the rent house on Beat 3. Please come by the shop to check in and get an up to date fishing report. SVA Summer Interns SVA will have 4 interns this summer. We have assembled an incredibly talented group of young adults that will be instrumental in assisting with the growth and improvement of the club. One of our key goals will be to overhaul the website and add many exciting new features to the members-only site. We will keep you updated on our progress. Product Spotlight Sage Bass Rod- For die hard streamer fishermen, the Sage Smallmouth Bass Rod is the perfect rod. At 7 11 this rod is designed for throwing bass bugs and streamers. The Smallmouth model is a wonderful and very unique streamer rod for trout. The shorter length allows for very quick loading and unloading of the rod, which will make zipping a streamer to the bank an easy task for all anglers. These rods come with a Cordura covered rod/reel case and their own specific custom WF floating line for a very affordable $350! (www.sageflyfish.com) Lamson Konic Reel- This new, super affordable reel from Lamson Waterworks is raising the bar for performance and design in it s price category. This reel features the same conical drag design that is used in Lamson s higher end reels. The Lamson Konic is cast with a new high pressure casting process that makes the injection molded reel much stronger than other cast reels. It is available in 4 models, ranging in capacity from 4 weight to 10 weight. Best of all, this reel is available for under $150. (www.waterworks-lamson.com)
Fishing Report PAGE 6 Fishing Report The recent rains made fishing tough if not impossible for most of March, the streams are now back in great shape and the fish have grown to unprecedented sizes. Hoppers, Ants, Beetles and Parachute Adam s have worked well for the fish that are rising. Streamers in white and olive have been very effective. Emergers such as Barr s emerger and chocolate RS 2 s have also produced many nice fish lately. The sulphurs have begun to appear on the water so don t get caught without them. Royal Humpy s in red and lime green have been great choices when all else fails. Another great photo from Dr. Dave Wong, member from Tulsa, OK Spring Valley Anglers P.O.
