The Blue Hose play at Templeton Center for the first time this season after a three-game road trip in which PC went 1-2, knocking off Clemson (49-46) before falling to No. 10 Georgia on Wednesday and No. 3 Duke on Saturday. Series Histories PC looks to keep up its winning ways against both squads this week as the Blue Hose enter with a 6-1 advantage over Southern Wesleyan and an umblemished 4-0 marker over South Carolina State. PC last met the Warriors in 1997-98 after a seven-year hiatus. PC has won the last five contests against Southern Wesleyan, dating back to a narrow 74-72 loss on January 19, 1987. The Warriors last visited Templeton Center on January 21, 1991, when the Blue Hose pulled out a 58-57 victory. PC has taken four wins from SC State, all in Division I play. The Blue Hose narrowly edged the Bulldogs on the road last season, 53-50, thanks to 12 points each from Mariah Pietrowski and Dria David. The Bulldogs have visited Templeton Center only once, a decisive 61-47 PC win on December 14, 2009. Last Time Out PC ended its opening-season road swing with an 84-45 loss at No. 3 Duke on Saturday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Hose shot 45.7 percent against the Blue Devils, buoyed by a 55 percent shooting percentage in the second half. Tiara Knotts paces the squad with 14 points on the year, including 13 against the Bulldogs. Paris Alston leads the team on the boards, averaging 9.5 rebounds per game. Up Next PC takes a break for the Thanksgiving holiday before heading back to Durham, N.C., to take on NC Central on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Blue Hose will look to repeat last year s result, a 64-48 home win, the first in three tries against the Eagles. Karlee For Three Junior guard Karlee Taylor hit four-three pointers against Duke on Saturday, the most for her since last season s January 30 game against High Point. The treys gave her 107 for her career, moving her into sole possession of eighth place in program history. The junior needs 10 to catch Karen Neeley s (1993-97) seventh-place mark of 117. Taylor ranked fourth in the Big South in three-pointers made (2.2 per game) last season and sixth in field goal percentage (36.4 percent). First Time for Everything After several Blue Hose acheived career firsts against Georgia on Wednesday, more followed against Duke on Saturday. Redshirt freshman Keyonna Allen went two-for-two from the floor, scoring her first career points. Freshmen Cassidy Glenn and Taryn Richard grabbed their first-ever rebounds, while Glenn also hit a three for her first points as a Blue Hose. On Wednesday, Kasey Hobbie sank her first career bucket with three-pointer to beat an expiring shot clock while freshman Katelyn Grisillo made her first career appearance, hitting a jumper and adding a steal and a rebound. Holding Those Tigers PC kicked off its season in style, winning its season opener at Clemson on Sunday, 49-46. Dria David scored a career-high 19 points and hit a buzzerbeating three-pointer to give the Blue Hose their first-ever win over an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent in its 12th try. PC never trailed in the game, fighting off six ties and forcing 17 turnovers en route to the historic win. Dria s Dramatic Day Senior guard Dria David enjoyed a career day on Sunday at Clemson, scoring the most points in a season opener (19) for the Blue Hose since the team played its first Division I schedule in 2007-08. Her 19 points also marked a career high and led both squads as she scored 13 points in the second half, including two of the game s three three-pointers. Burnside for the Block Senior forward Shonda Burnside enters Monday in sole possession of sixth place in program history in blocked shots, checking in with 66. Burnside blocked a shot against Clemson to pass Rachel Sloan (1998-2001). The senior needs 18 to catch Tonya Kelley s mark of 84, set from 1994-1998.

2012-2013 Presbyterian College Women s Basketball Game Notes November 19 vs. Southern Wesleyan November 20 vs. SC State Take, Take, Take Senior guard Dria David enters Saturday with 173 career steals, just nine shy of catching Martha Williams (1982-86) and Nancy Renwick (1983-87) in ninth place in program history. The Lawrenceville, Ga., native ranked 10th in the Big South in steals per game last season, averaging 2.0 per contest. Mariah in the Middle Mariah Pietrowski returns as the squad s leading scorer (11.5 ppg) and rebounder (5.6). The senior center became the program s Division I leader in points and rebounds last season and enters Monday just 36 points shy of 1,000 for her career. Pietrowski also ranked third in the Big South Conference in field goal percentage (.506), 12th in blocked shots (0.7 per game), 16th in scoring and 17th in rebounding. She has led the Blue Hose in scoring and rebounding in 36 games and has started all 87 games of her PC career. Transition Complete On August 2, the NCAA Executive Committee voted to approve Presbyterian College s full certification to Division I. The Blue Hose will now be eligible for NCAA and Big South Conference postseason play for the first time since joining the league and playing a Division I schedule since 2007-08. PC will aim for a spot in the 2013 VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Basketball Championships, held the week of March 5-10 at The HTC Center on the campus of Coastal Carolina University. The combined, one-site men s and women s basketball tournament format features all 23 teams and 21 games in six days, including the crowning of champions on Sunday, March 10. Senior Wisdom Look for the Blue Hose to lean heavily on experience this season, with Shonda Burnside, Dria David, Devin Fothergill, Chelsea Parker, Mariah Pietrowski and Olivia Towers-Solis returning for their senior years. Together, the six have combined for 2,657 points and 1,663 rebounds in their four years at PC. A Year To Build Off Of The Blue Hose return all but one starter from last year s team, bringing back over 90 percent of its scoring. With a 14-15 record and 8-10 Big South Conference tally, the Blue Hose jumped 69 spots in the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) from 2010-11 and led the Big South in scoring defense, averaging only 56.2 points allowed per contest. The Blue Hose also ranked second in rebounding defense (35.3 percent) and third in field goal percentage defense (38.1 percent). PC also won six of its last nine games, including putting together the longest winning streak in its D-I history (four) and its longest road winning streak as well (three). The squad made Templeton a tough place to play, outscoring opponents by an average of 8.9 points per game and sporting a +2.8 turnover margin. Poll Position PC was predicted to finish eighth this season in the Big South Conference in an annual poll of league coaches and media, the conference announced at its annual Media Day in October. The eighth-place ranking marks the highest for the program since its first appearance in the preseason poll in 2008-09. PC received 91 votes, one shy of seventh-place Coastal Carolina. The Blue Hose also received two sixth-place votes. Circled on the Calendar PC will hold its Education Day game on December 13 against Brevard and the team s February 23rd home game against High Point will be streamed on ESPN3. PC will host the Brevard Tornados at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11 in its annual Education Day game. Templeton Center will receive national attention on Saturday, February 23, when PC s home matchup against High Point will be streamed live on ESPN3. The event marks the first time a PC home women s basketball game has appeared on the Web platform, available through ESPN s WatchESPN network. Baby Blue Hose Freshmen Cassidy Glenn, Taryn Richard and Katelyn Grisillo join the Blue Hose in 2012-13 after stellar high school careers. Grisillo was the named the South Carolina State 2A Player of the Year at Bishop England High School, Richard pulled down 7A All-State and All-Area Team honors at Martin County High School in Florida while Glenn left Providence Catholic High School as the school s second all-time leading scorer. A Fisher of Win Head coach Ronny Fisher s 33 wins place him three victories shy of catching Jessica Vanco s (2004-08) 36 wins in fourth place in PC history. Next in his sights would be the 73 wins attained by both Randy Randall and Byron Rucker that tie both men for second in program history. Fresh Faces on the Bench India Elliott and Corey Mullins join the Blue Hose as assistant coaches for the 2012-

2012-2013 Presbyterian College Women s Basketball Game Notes 13 season. Elliott arrives after two years as an assistant coach at Wingate, helping the Bulldogs to a South Atlantic Conference title, a No. 20 national ranking and two wins in the NCAA Division II Tournament. Mullins brings numerous years of coaching experience to the Blue Hose, most recently at the helm of the Covenant (Ga.) Scots as he led the squad to an improved win total and a three-way tie for sixth place during their first year in the Great South Atlantic Conference. From All Over This year s 15 Blue Hose hail from nine different states, arriving in Laurens County from Florida (Taryn Richard), Georgia (Keyonna Allen, Dria David, Olivia Towers-Solis), Illinois (Cassidy Glenn), Kentucky (Devin Fothergill), Maryland (Megan Schaaf), North Carolina (Chelsea Parker, Karlee Taylor), New Jersey (Noelle Carter, Kasey Hobbie), South Carolina (Shonda Burnside, Sherece Smith, Katelyn Grisillo) and Tennessee (Mariah Pietrowski). The Road Ahead The Blue Hose will put their effort to work over the course of a 19-game schedule that sees them play 12 home games at Templeton Center and travel to such top-tier teams as Clemson, Georgia, NC State and Duke. The Big South Conference season begins on December 29 against Coastal Carolina and the Blue Hose aim to build on eight Big South wins last year. PC captured its first-ever win against Radford, swept Gardner-Webb and snapped losing streaks against Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern to end the season with a pair of victories. Steady As She Goes Sherece Smith and Mariah Pietrowski started all 29 games for the Blue Hose last season, the only two members of the team to do so. Pietrowski has started all 88 games of her Blue Hose career, more than any member of the current squad. 2012-2013 Presbyterian College Women s Basketball Game Notes November 19 vs. Southern Wesleyan November 20 vs. SC State Last Time vs. SC State... ORANGEBURG, S.C. The Presbyterian College women s basketball team earned its second win in a row with a road win over South Carolina State on November 19, 2011, 53-50. Four PC players hit double-figures on the evening. Mariah Pietrowski (Elizabethton, Tenn.) and Dria David (Lawrenceville, Ga.) each led the Blue Hose with 12 points on the night. Kristen Stevens (Pickerington, Ohio) added 11 points and Sherece Smith (Clemson, S.C.) contributed 10. Devin Fothergill (Somerset, Ky.) registered three steals in her second straight game and Karlee Taylor (Asheville, Ky.) also picked up four assists. The Blue Hose fought off an 11-point Bulldog run to open the game and battled back from a 29-24 halftime deficit, taking the lead midway through the second half thanks to a 10-0 run. David hit a three-pointer to pull within two and a Smith layup brought the game back to even, 36-36. PC s defense carried the squad down the stretch, limiting the Bulldogs to 25 percent shooting in the second half and 21 points in the final 20 minutes. South Carolina State closed in on PC s lead and trailed by one with 40 seconds left after a pair of Trinese Fox free throws, but Pietrowski slammed the door with a layup to put PC ahead, 53-50, with 14 seconds remaining. The junior center converted the final two Blue Hose field goals to help seal the win. Pietrowski had seven rebounds on the night and Stevens knocked down three three-pointers. 2012-2013 Presbyterian College Women s Basketball Game Notes November 19 vs. Southern Wesleyan November 20 vs. SC State Ronny Fisher is in his fifth season as Presbyterian College s head women s basketball coach. He is the sixth person to take the reigns in the program s 35-year history. He leads the team in its first year as a fullfledged Division I member after five transition seasons. Fisher led the program to new heights in 2011-12. The Blue Hose finished the year with a 14-15 record and an 8-10 record in the Big South Conference, marking the most wins since 2005-06 and the most Big South wins ever in a single season. In addition to the team s 14 wins, the Blue Hose jumped 69 spots in the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) from 2010-11 and led the Big South in scoring defense, averaging only 56.2 points allowed per contest. The Blue Hose also ranked second in rebounding defense (35.3 percent) and third in field goal percentage defense (38.1 percent). PC won six of its last nine games, including putting together the longest winning streak in its D-I history and its longest road winning streak. In 2010-2011, Fisher led the Blue Hose to program-best marks since joining Division I and the Big South Conference. The team s 9-20 overall tally and 5-11 record in league play marked the team s best campaign since 2005-2006. Fisher s guidance also helped Karlee Taylor earn a Big South Conference All-Freshman Team selection. The Blue Hose set a number of benchmarks in 2010-2011. PC held an opponent to less than 40 points for only the seventh time since 1990 when the Blue Hose broke a 48-game road losing streak with a 51-38 win over South Carolina State. PC s five Big South Conference wins also marked the highest win total since joining the Big South in 2008-2009. The Blue Hose played competitively against several non-conference foes including Virginia Tech, Ohio and Clemson. In 2009-10, Fisher s squad defied expectations by posting three Big South victories with triumphs over Coastal Carolina, UNC Asheville and Winthrop. The team improved upon its win total from the previous year and even took regular season Big South regular season Champion Gardner-Webb to overtime. He had five student-athletes selected to the BIg South Presidential honor roll including three starters. Mariah Pietrowski won the Big South Freshman of the Year award and the Blue Hose were given the league s Sportsmanship Award. Fisher guided the 2008-09 team to a victory over Big South Conference tournament runner-up Gardner-Webb, marking the first league win in Division I play. The team posted its first Division I home win against Colgate on Nov. 24, 2008, by a 62-50 score. The squad doubled its win total from the previous season while also posting a strong 2.95 GPA in the classroom. Fisher s 2008-09 team will go down in the school s record book as the first Blue Hose program to garner the Big South Sportsmanship Award. Fisher took the PC women s coaching position after working with PC s men s basketball program for 11 years. He was the associate head coach for the 2007-08 season under head men s coach Gregg Nibert, after serving as the assistant coach from 1990-1993 and 2000-2007. The men s team tallied 142 wins when Fisher rejoined the staff in 2000. With his assistance PC earned two trips to the NCAA Division II tournament (2003, 2006). The 2002-2003 squad registered a program-tying 27 wins and were runners-up for the Food Lion/SAC Tournament title. The Blue Hose earned a bid to the national tournament where they defeated Columbus State (71-59) and Shaw University (77-58) to advance to the Sweet Sixteen, the farthest the program had ever gone in the postseason. Fisher was with the team when it returned to the NCAA Division II tournament three years later. After going 25-10 and finishing second in the Food Lion/SAC Tournament, PC beat Armstrong Atlantic, 73-67, in the first round of the NCAA Division II tournament before losing to Ga. College & State University in the second round. The Fairview, N.C., native aided Nibert as the program began its transition to Division I in 2007. The team recorded its first win at the Division I level over Radford (62-60) on Dec. 1, 2007 in the friendly confines of the Templeton Center. The Blue Hose finished a perfect 5-0 on their home court. During Fisher s first term with the Blue Hose, he worked with the team as they advanced to the NAIA National Tournament in 1993. PC racked up a school-record 27-5 season and earned a win over Mars Hill (71-56) in the NAIA District 26 Playoffs en route to the national tournament. The team lost to Georgetown (Ky.), 92-79, but went down as the first team in school history to travel to the tournament. Fisher handled numerous responsibilities under Nibert, including acting as both the academic and recruiting coordinator. On the hardwood, he worked with all the players but played a special role coaching post players. He has been able to draw on those experiences as he continues the transition from assistant to head coach. Between stints at Presbyterian, Fisher held positions at North Greenville University and Conway H.S. He worked under Crusaders coach David Conrady for two seasons (1998-2000). The staff worked to build a solid program that upset NAIA s second-ranked Georgetown College in Fisher s final year at North Greenville. Fisher assumed the head coaching position of the boy s basketball team at Conway H.S. in Conway, S.C. in 1993. At 25 years of age, he was the youngest class 4-A high school head coach in the state. In his first year, he led a team that had won two games in 1992-93 to 17 wins and the Tigers first trip to the quarterfinals of the state tournament. He compiled a 47-52 record in four years at Conway. Fisher got his start in college basketball while serving as a student assistant coach under former Presbyterian Coach Butch Estes at Furman University. He earned a B.A. in physical education in 1990. He graduated from A.C. Reynolds H.S. in Fairview, N.C., where he was a multi-sport athlete who played baseball, basketball and golf. His father Bob and brother, Rob still reside in the area. Fisher is married to the former Julie Dickert, of Taylors, S.C. Julie is a former basketball player at Charleston Southern University who played for the Bucs from 1990-93. They reside in Clinton with their son, Harrison, daughter Sydney and son Jake. They are active members of Cornerstone Baptist Church. The Fisher File Hometown Fairview, N.C.
