Parade prizes For the second year in a row, Hampshire Coon Creek Country Days will issue prizes for the top vote-getters in the parade. There is no additional cost to participate in the competition. You only need to check one of these boxes: Yes, please include this entry in the competition! Here is the one (1) category we are entering: Most original Best decorated Best Hampshire-based theme No, not this year. Maybe next year, though! Judging will be done by Hampshire Village Trustees. The following criteria is deliberately being kept general so as to not restrict creativity and limit your thinking. However, to provide some framework and guidelines, think of these general considerations when designing your entry, and recognize where, from your perspective, some criteria noted in one prize category may also adapt to another prize category: Most original: (1) Shows artistic imagination and enthusiasm. (2) Good use of music, props and people, if applicable. (3) Have we seen this entry in a previous years parade? (4) Audience reaction. (5) Theme of your entry in relation to Hampshire Coon Creek Country Days. Best decorated: (1) Demonstrates effort, including construction details. (2) Creates a positive overall effect. (3) Attractiveness of entry. (4) Color combination. (5) Audience reaction. (6) Wow factor. Best Hampshire-based theme: (1) Theme clearly understood and lettering clearly visible; (2) Aligns with what is commonly understood about Hampshire; (3) Does it convey our town s cultural values? (4) Will it connect with the audience so that those who live in Hampshire get it? (5) Consider Hampshire s surroundings when determining the materials you ll use. (6) Audience reaction. (7) Shows spirit. Note: the precise prizes are still in development. Further information will be made available as prizes are confirmed. For more information about this competition, call 224-535-1813 or 847-683-3116 and leave a message. Your call will be returned as soon as possible. - 5 -
