What s NEW with livestock tagging? Butler County Fair: ONLY stays the same. Regular 4-H tags and paper ID sheets will be used as in the past. No changes in deadlines or identification limits. State Fair and Ak-Sar-Ben: Electronic ID (EID) tags will be needed for feeder calves, market beef, market swine, market sheep and market goats. DNA samples will also be collected. This includes FFA animals. No changes in deadlines or identification limits. Breeding animals for State Fair and Ak-Sar-Ben require an index card. Heifers will also need tattoo numbers and registration papers. Breeding sheep and goats require a scrapie tag number on the index card. No EID tags are needed in breeding animals. All deadlines and identification limits remain the same. Butler County 4-H Butler County Beef Weigh Day 4-H and FFA Market Beef will be weighed and tagged for Butler County Fair Rate of Gain Contest. January 23, 2016 noon - 1:30 pm. Bar S Vet Clinic, David City Year End Treasurer s Report All Butler County 4-H Clubs are required to complete a YEAR END Treasure s Report. The 2015 End of Year Treasurer s Report is a one page form available from the Butler County Extension Office or on-line at http://extension.unl.edu/statewide/butler/4h. Clover Kids will have free registration (5-7, 4-H Age ). ne.4honline.com 2016 Special Garden Project Notify Butler County Extension by January 15 be enrolled in the Special Garden Project, seeds will be ordered only for 4-H ers enrolling in the project. Youth must be enrolled in the Jazzy Mix Zinnia 2016 Special Garden Project to exhibit at Butler County Fair. Capture photos of people and places that illustrate 4-H growing and thriving in Nebraska! Your photos should tell a story about how 4-H Grows Here in your local community. Include the 4-H Grows Here logo in your photos. 4-H Horse Shows The 2016 Fonner Park State 4-H Horse Show - July 10-14, 2016. December 31, 2015 8:30 am noon Butler County Welding 336 4th Street, David City 4-H Welding Workshop hosted by Butler County Welding, Kobza Ag and Home, and Callaway Rolloffs LLC 4-H ers should bring leather gloves and protective eyewear. Be sure to wear jeans and leather shoes. If you have a welding helmet, bring it along. The workshop will focus on safety and welding basics. Participants will build a shop stool which can be entered at Butler County Fair. There is no fee for this workshop.
