Introduction & General Information Welcome to the Fourth Edition of our Dojo Syllabus! This new syllabus has been designed to meet the growing demands of our group and to help ensure that all our members receive the best possible training within the best possible environment. The content is largely based on a rotating framework, with each phase of learning material lasting around three to four months. There are three distinct levels that take a student from beginner (White Belt) to 1st Dan (Black Belt), followed by a fourth (linear) level that supports the development of senior ranks up to 3rd Dan. Level 01 (Beginner) takes members from 10th Kyu (White Belt) to 8th Kyu Yellow Belt. It comprises of two rotating phases and the minimum time to complete this level is around 6 to 8 months. Students must pass a grade examination for each phase before being eligible to progress onto the next level. Level 02 (Intermediate) takes members from 8th Kyu (Yellow Belt) to 4th Kyu (Purple Belt). It comprises of three rotating phases and the minimum time to complete this level is around 16 to 18 months. Students must pass a grade examination for each phase before being eligible to progress onto the next level. Level 03 (Advanced) takes members from 4th Kyu (Purple Belt) to 1st Dan (Black Belt). It comprises of three rotating phases and the minimum time to complete this level is around 16 to 18 months. Students must pass a grade examination for each phase before being eligible to progress onto the next level. Level 04 (Black Belt) takes members from 1st Dan to 3rd Dan (Black Belt). This portion of the syllabus is linear and does not follow the standard rotating framework. The minimum time to complete this level is around 5 years. This document outlines the grading requirements for Phase 02 (beginner/intermediate/advanced) that will be delivered from April to July 2015.
