It was a great success with 103 in attendance. We have received nice notes as well as lots of The 4-H Food Challenge is a fun contest that teams of 3-5 persons can compete in. Teams prepare a dish from foods provided and prepare a presentation for judges including information related to nutrition, food safety and cost. The competition is set for February, so if you are interested, please let me know. I will be glad to work with you. CLOTHING PROJECT INFORMATIONAL MEETING The 4-H Fashion Show and Fashion Storyboard competitions will be here before we know it. If you want to learn more about these activities, you ll want to attend a Clothing Project Informational meeting on Monday, January 23 at the CEO at 5 PM. ****************************************** STATE 4-H ROUNDUP CHANGES There are lots of changes to State 4-H Roundup this year starting off with the location. The city of Lubbock and Texas Tech University will serve as hosts to the 2012 State 4-H Roundup, June 11-15. There are lots of contests that now allow Intermediate aged 4-H ers to positive comments. Thank you for helping make it a participate in such as Livestock Judging, Meats Judging, Recipe Rally, and Swine Quiz Bowl. positive event. **** HALLOWEEN PARTY Thanks so much to everyone who helped with the Halloween party. Over 400 persons attended and every child received a promotional flyer and a 4-H Sticker. We had lots of positive comments from parents and interest in joining 4-H from some in attendance. All in all it was a great recruitment event. We couldn t have done it without 4-H ers and parents alike. Thank you again ****************************************** PARENT/LEADER ASSOCIATION MEETING All Floyd County 4-H parents are invited to attend the Parent/Leader Association meeting set for Monday, January 30 at the CEO at 6:30 PM. The 4-H Budget will be discussed. Dinner will be provided. An RSVP would be helpful. District II has been challenged to have 600 4-H ers at Roundup. Your family could attend the nightly assemblies which will be held at the United Spirit Arena starting with the Monday Scholarship Assembly. Aaron Watson will be entertaining one evening and of course there will be a dance for the delegation on Thursday evening. If you are an intermediate aged 4-H ers, consider being a part of the 2012 Roundup. We will be glad to help you.
