Club News and Announcements 2017 Membership Renewals and Insurance Liability Waivers Some Members have as yet not paid 2017 memberships ($30, individual, $35 family or add $1 if renewed on the web site). If you know that you have not yet paid your dues, please go to www.ropersandriders.org, then click on Payments and follow the prompts to the Pay Pal screen or send a check to Pope Valley Ropers and Riders c/o Sandra Bickford, Treasurer, PO Box 1, Pope Valley, CA 94567. Those of you who have not yet paid will be receiving an email from the club shortly as a reminder. Anyone who plans to participate in any club activities this year must have a signed Insurance Waiver of Liability on file with the club s secretary. If you have not yet completed this form, make sure you download the most recent version of the form from the club web site. (see address above) or from the attachment which is included in this month s newsletter email. This includes all family members in good standing and minor children, whose forms must be signed by their parents or legal guardians.

Pope Valley Ropers and Riders General Meeting Minutes March 10, 2017 Call to Order: President Mary Burton, 7pm Pledge of Allegiance Minutes: Approved. Calendar correction. August 1, Bd Mtg at Sandra Bickford s home. Roll: Sign In Sheet was circulated. 14 members were present. Guests: none Officers Report: President: Mary reported another downed tree and blown over portapotty in the last storms. More details throughout the minutes on information from Mary Vice President: Absent Secretary: No report Treasurer: Sandra passed out February Income and Expense Report, which was helpful for members to see as we discuss upcoming expenses. Sandra also presented a projected budget for 2017. Lots of hard work here, thanks Sandra! She reported : Checking Balance $3670.07, Savings Balance $2941.89, Paypal Balance $164.46 Committee Reports: Gymkhana: Mary reported that Sponsor Letters are going out soon. Last year Sponsors donated $3800. Sandra suggested that we might raise food prices for the concession and perhaps for the riders as well. Gymkhana committee will consider these suggestions. Expanding the Sponsor List outreach could be considered. Trail Rides: March 18th, Angwin with Sherrilyn. April ride TBAled by Joe Sullivan, date will have to accommodate the trail condition at Highland Springs. May ride will be at Smeding Ranch on Mothers Day. Arena: Alejandro will see to the weed spraying. We will look to being up and running for meetings and the Gymkhana under Mary s direction. Clinics: Vet Clinic: March 26 at Farm Center. Volunteer are listed as Marsha, April, Nancy, Becky,Cheryl, Lettie. We may need several more volunteers, Marsha will make calls. Saddles that Fit: April 14th at the Arena before the General Mtg. Follow up post clinic at Arena on Saturday, April 15, for the latter, a fee may be involved. Cheryl Brown coordinating. Roping: May 12 before the general meeting at the arena. Alejandro will be teaching and coordinating this clinic. Future Clinics: Ideas include Knots (Paul Kimsey) Trailer Skills (Dale Brown), Caroline Kimsey-Horse rehab, Andrew Lincoln -Trail skills.we need to check with Sally for the date of July 14th in regards to Caroline s availability. Old Business: Timer and Digital Display: Cost $2300. This expense will be considered along with information on tree trimming costs, the general membership will vote on these two issues. Tree Trimming: Betty will get an estimate from Steve. Becky volunteered to get a cost from Pacific Tree Care as well. Tent or Metal Roof for Dining Area in Arena: We will need to replace damages tent roof. The general consensus is to replace the canape top, and not do a hard metal replacement. PAGE 5

Pope Valley Ropers and Riders General Meeting Minutes March 10, 2017 Announcements: An effort will be made to help Thompsons with meals (human) while they are working with their two litters of puppies in the next few weeks. Mary Burton coordinating. Brags: Barry has a new horse of the 2 wheeled variety. He will take this new horse to Wisconsin on a cross country trip to meet his son. Happy Riding, Barry!
