Here are some upcoming events that we discussed: Next week will be the beginning of our Pumpkin Decorating Contest! All students are invited to participate by decorating a pumpkin like a favorite book character and sending it in to school! This year, if you don t have time to decorate one at home, you can stay after school on Monday, October 22nd, and decorate one with the PTG! We will provide small pumpkins, paints, and glue. Bring your own add-ons (feathers, yarn, googly eyes, etc.)! Permission slips and more details will be in next week s Mail Day. Winners will be voted on by the students and prizes will be awarded!! Our 6th-8th graders will be having a Halloween Dance, which is scheduled for Friday, October 26th, from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM in the cafeteria. Grades K-5 will be having Halloween Parties on October 31st from 2:20 PM - 3:00 PM. Homeroom parent liaisons will be responsible for organizing and making sure there is enough help. Sign Up Genius pages for volunteers will be going out soon. At the meeting, we also decided to start a prayer chain this year! Parents from our school volunteered to pray for OLG to BE the best that it can BE! WELCOME MASS All parents are invited to our school Mass on Wednesday, October 17th at 9:00 AM. Join us as we welcome our new clergy team - Fr. David Bonnar, Fr. Tom Gramc and Fr. Benjamin Barr. CAFETERIA Thank you to everyone who participated in our Breakstravaganza on September 28th. The students voted on their favorite new breakfast items and there was a tie between the Strawberry/Chocolate Oatmeal Bar and the Ham & Egg Strada. We will be serving the Strawberry/Chocolate Oatmeal Bars this week (October 8-12) and the Ham & Egg Strada will be served during the week of October 15-19. We will continue to have pancakes and cinnamon rolls as well as the cereal and muffins available. Free and reduced students are reminded that breakfast is included with your free or reduced meals. Reduced breakfast cost is $0.30. Please take advantage of this program. The cafeteria is still in need of volunteers for Mondays and Fridays. Please consider helping to serve the students lunch. All volunteers must be in compliance with the Diocesan Safe Environment Policy. BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION - DUE FRIDAY, 10/19 We have two Box Top submission dates during the school year - one in the Fall and one in the Spring. The due date for the Fall collection will be Friday, October 19th so please send in your Box Tops now. Money earned from Box Tops goes towards our fundraising goal. Thank you for your support! FOOD TRUCK FEST THANK YOU! Thank you to all who came and supported the Food Truck Fest! Also thank you to those who donated items for the Chinese Auction. The Food Truck Fest raised $1,950 for the school! A special thank you to Miss Howe and Miss Stehura for organizing the event. They did a fabulous job! There are 3 chances to win each week. Tickets are $10 each. It is based on the football scores for the last 10 games of the regular season. This fundraiser benefits all of the athletic programs offered at OLG. Payments along with tickets should be sent back to the school by this coming Monday, October 15th.
