Section 5 Scores
Section 5-1e Unacceptable Scores In January 2016, Revised Section to add playing alone as an unacceptable score. Section 5
Section 5-2E Tournament Score The Committee (in charge of the competition) must announce in advance whether the score is to be designated as a tournament score. A tournament score is designated as such when it is SIGNIFICANT or ANNUAL. For example, club events that are routine events such as daily, weekly, or monthly play days should not be designated as Tournament Scores. Definitions
T Score Designation On page 11 in Definitions The AGA should advise the golf club on what scores should be identified as Tournament scores. If there is a dispute, the AGA will make the final decision. Definitions
IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO ADJUST SCORES WHEN IT WILL BE POSTED AS A T-SCORE 1. Mulligan 2. Pro hits the shot 3. Magic Putt 4. Hole larger than normal hole
These holes not played under the rules, should be circled! Pro or Handicap Chair will adjust scores, so all T scores are correct. This score could have been posted 4 strokes less!!! USED MAGIC PUTT 2 x4 USED MULLIGAN 4 x6 18 18
NEW Section 5 Principle from the USGA To enhance the integrity of the USGA Handicap System TM it is recommended that the Committee Should post all tournament scores.
Section 7 Preferred Lies (Winter Rules)
Section 8 Now part of NCGA, even more important to get an agreement with men s Handicap Committee about non-posting. The Handicap Committee
Section 8 The Handicap Committee The Handicap Committee is responsible for ensuring the Handicap Index TM is correct, if not, modifications must be done.
Modifications may be needed for. 1. Golfer not posting or posting wrong score 2. Needs a modification because of injury or disability 3. On a T score reduction and not warranted New Principle in Section 8: An injury is temporary, and a disability is permanent. Modifications should be different for each case. Please see Decisions 8-4c/1 for injury, & Decision 8-4c/ for disability.
EXAMPLE Lowest differential of 3 scores post injury 27.8 Current Handicap Index + 15.4 43.2 43.2/2 = 21.6M Handicap Committee must update Modification at every Revision until all differentials are post injury.
HANDICAP INDEX TM ADJUSTMENT NEW FOR 2018: All Modifications must be activated by the NCGA. Call 831-645-4653 and ask for the Handicap department. You will need to have all the facts ready to make the case for the adjustment. The WGANC office will be happy to help if you have any questions.
Course Rating will now be done for both women and men at the same time, so your posters will not look the same. However, in the mean time, if you are missing this one with all the ratings our WGANC office will make you a duplicate. 29
If you are missing an individual WGANC Course Rating Poster, call the office and get a duplicate.
