A Look at the Cats The Ohio Bobcats earned another win during their three-game road stand. The Cats dropped Northern Illinois, 72-68, in a Monday night contest in DeKalb, Ill. Junior forward Lauren Hmiel led the Cats to victory by scoring a career-high 19 points. She shot 6-of-8 from the fi eld, 2-of-2 from three-point range and 5-of-5 from the free-throw line. Lauren Kohn scored 15 points for the Bobcats, shooting 6-of-10 from the fi eld and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. Kohn also led the Bobcats with nine rebounds, including eight on the defensive side. Simone Redd and Chandra Myers also reached double digits for the Bobcats scoring 12 and 11 points, respectively. Redd also had two steals, while Myers pulled down seven rebounds. Senior Quintana Ward scored all of her seven points in the second half. She also had a team-high fi ve assists. Ohio shot 48.1 percent (25-of-52) from the fl oor and Northern Illinois shot 37.9 percent (25-of-66). The Cats powered past the RedHawks in a 74-55 win. Ohio had fi ve players score in double fi gures, led by center Chandra Myers with her fi rst career double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds. Oh Me, Oh My ers Center Chandra Myers leads the Bobcats averaging 6.4 rebounds a game. Myers has two double-doubles on the season and has reached double-digit rebounds in four games, while leading the team in rebounding 14 times. Coco for Coco Poffs Sophomore Jenny Poff one of her best offensive games of the season at Kent State. Poff led the Cats on both rebounding (8) and assists (7). She also posted her 11th double-digit scoring game of the season with 14 points. Notables - With 117 three-point fi eld goals made in her career, senior Simone Redd is third all-time in Bobcat history in the category. She started the season ranked seventh with 84. Lauren Kohn is fourth all-time in the category with 104 and Quintana Ward is fi fth all-time with 101. - The 2007-08 Bobcat squad has set a new all-time record with 202 three pointers made this season. The Cats broke the previous record of 189 set by the 2001-02 squad. The Bobcats have been nationally ranked as one of the top-6 teams in the nation in three-point percentage for the last six weeks. - Ohio s 17 wins so far this season is in a three-way tie for fourth place in the program s all-time winningest seasons list. It is the fi rst time ever that a squad has put back-to-back seasons on the list. Last year, Ohio s 18 wins ranks third all-time. - Ohio s 93 blocked shots this season is the best total in ten seasons. The 2006-07 squad is the closest with 69. - The Bobcats had fi ve players score in double fi gures for the fi rst time this season against Miami on Jan. 19. - Jennifer Bushby scored a career-high 23 points at Buffalo this season. She shot 75 percent 6-of-8) from the three point line, tying her third all-time in the Bobcat record book for best three point fi eld goal performance in a single game. It was the best performance from beyond the arc for a Bobcat since Cathy Szall shot 75 percent against Eastern Michigan on March 3, 2001. Szall also made 6-of-8 attempts. - Seniors Lauren Kohn and Simone Redd both have scored more than 1,000 points in their collegiate careers. Kohn has accumulated 1,363 points, including 931 in her two years as a Bobcat and 432 at Syracuse. In addition, Redd reached the 1,000-point mark with 12 points scored against Kent State on Jan. 9. She now has 1,096 points in her career. - Quintana Ward is Ohio s second all-time assists leader. She has 444 career assists. - After tallying a career-high six steals against Ball State, Jenny Poff became one of four Bobcats to ever do that. - Head Coach Sylvia Crawley grabbed her 20th MAC career win and 35th overall career win against Northern Illinois Monday night.

This season the Cats are 6-1 on the road in the MAC, only losing to Bowling Green on Jan. 12. It s Been a While For the fi rst time since the 1990-91 season, the Ohio women s basketball team grabbed a win over the Kent State Golden Flashes on their home court. Ohio posted a close 69-68 win over the Flashes Saturday afternoon. Today the Cats look to repeat. Ohio hasn t won in Oxford since 1998. New Kid on the Block Jenny Poff fi lled up her career stat sheet by grabbing the fi rst block of her career against the Golden Flashes on Saturday. Welcome to the Club With four blocks against Kent State on Saturday, freshman Kamille Buckner is now one of Ohio s top-10 all-time blocks leaders. With 28, she passed Latreece Bagley s (2000-04) 27 for eighth place, and is currently sixth on the single-season list. LAUREN KOHN MAC PLAYER OF THE YEAR CANDIDATE Senior Lauren Kohn has lived up to her title as senior captain. The 5-11 guard has led the Bobcats in scoring all season long and currently averages a team-best 16 ppg.
