Season 2018/19 #25 Latest Round-ups: Midweek Action: One of the biggest games of the season to date took place on Wednesday evening; with Willand Rovers claiming a huge 4-1 win at home to Westbury United. The hosts took huge strides in the promotion race thanks to the victory, with their main man Luke Mortimore taking just 15 seconds to break the deadlock. Josh Searle then fired home a 10 th minute penalty to double the advantage, with Adam Hill heading home a third to complete a one-sided first half. Dan Demkiv pulled a goal back for Westbury, before Mortimore struck again to extend Rovers lead atop the league. Elsewhere in the division that night, two goals in the dying minutes from Declan Cornish and Sam Clark saw Bridport secure a dramatic 3-1 victory over Buckland Athletic. There was also action the night before, with Joe McLennan s goal ten minutes from time leading Bitton to a 1-0 win away at Hallen, while the prolific Ash McGrane struck during the second half to help Odd Down salvage a 1-1 draw at home to Bradford. In the, Chris Pile cancelled out Christian Blango s first-half strike at the Dening Sports Field as Welton claimed a 1-1 draw away at Chard Town. There was also some midweek cup action, with Adam Carter scoring in either half of Plymouth Parkway s 4-0 win away at Wells City, to help them reach the quarterfinal of the Les Phillips Cup. Over at the Lawns, Cribbs survived a marathon penalty shootout to eventually knock Cadbury Heath out of the Gloucestershire FA Challenge Trophy. Goals from George King and Jacob Hodgson saw the hosts grab a two-goal lead, only for the Heath to level things up thanks to efforts from Matt Huxley and Simon McElroy. The game then headed to spot kicks, and after five misses from the 32 attempts on goal, it was Cribbs who progressed to the next round, winning 14-13 on a long night in Bristol. : Willand s terrific run shows no signs of slowing down, with Cadbury Heath the latest side to be swept aside at Silver Street. Having taken the lead inside two minutes through Craig Duff, Rovers added to their lead in the opening half hour thanks to further goals from Ryan Guppy and Dean Stamp. Luke Mortimore then volleyed home a fourth goal before the interval, with Brett Worbey scoring twice in quick succession to extend the lead to six. Luke Alden made it seven midway through the second half, before Brad Ausden struck twice in the closing minutes to complete the 9-0 victory. Another Devon side to enjoy home comforts were Buckland Athletic, with two goals either side of the break helping them to a 4-0 win over Hallen. Ryan Bush opened the scoring with a fine left-footed finish, before Chris Todd headed home at the back post to double the Bucks advantage in the closing stages of the first half. 2-0 was how it remained for much of afternoon, with Jordan Ewing adding a late brace from close range to wrap things up for the home side. Westbury United were another side who returned to winning ways, easily seeing off the challenge of Hengrove by five goals to nil. Good play from Ricky Hulbert helped Callum Demkiv put the home side ahead, with Jamie Jordan then capitalising on a poor

clearance to grab Westbury s second late in the first half. Will Stead s well-directed finish put three goals between the sides, before goals in the final 20 minutes from George Bendle and Demkiv wrapped up the one-sided victory. Things weren t so easy for Cribbs who relied on a late winner to defeat Brislington 2-1 at the Lawns. Having seen Mike Rimmer s deflected free-kick nestle in the back of the net, Cribbs were forced to come from behind, and they managed to level things up two minutes before the interval through the in-form Jason Vincent. Then, with just eight minutes left on the clock, Dan Monk found enough space and time to fire the ball home and give Cribbs all three points. Wellington also came from behind to win 2-1, with a pair of goals early in the second half from Lewis Tasker and Tom Hawkings helping them defeat Roman Glass St George, who had earlier gone ahead thanks to a half-volley from Sam Wentland. : After Cheddar s highly-anticipated clash with Keynsham was postponed due to the inclement weather, the chasing pack were offered an opportunity to gain ground on the top two. Third-placed Chard were unable to take advantage, and suffered a surprising home loss to Sherborne Town. It was Chard s first home league defeat of the campaign, and came thanks to Ashley Clarke s lone goal during the early stages of the second half. The victory completed a league double for Sherborne over the Robins this season, easing their relegation fears somewhat. In the battle between fourth and fifth, a single goal was all there was to split the sides at the Lancer Scott Stadium in favour of the home side. It took 81 minutes for the deadlock to finally be broken, with Dan Elson scoring the vital goal to hand Ashton & Backwell victory over a Calne side who had not previously conceded a goal since before Christmas. Radstock Town came from behind on two occasions to claim a 2-2 draw with Corsham at the Southfields Rec. After Jon Bazley had fired the visitors ahead, Sam Gregory headed home an equaliser, only to see Dan King convert a penalty on the hour mark to restore Corsham s lead. Then, with five minutes left on the clock, another set piece paid off for Radstock, with Jack Metcalf rising highest to Jamal Chevolleau on the attack for Corsham, courtesy of John Cuthbertson. head the ball into the net to grab a deserved equaliser. Chippenham Park have now tallied two wins from their previous three fixtures after defeating Longwell Green Sports 4-1 at Hardenhuish Park. Rhys Talmash struck twice for the home side, with Devon Bryan and Zayn Alime also getting on the scoresheet to bring an end to Longwell s four match unbeaten run. Goals from Ryan Bole and Josh Brigham helped Devizes claim a 2-1 win away at Oldland to gain revenge on the 1-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of the same opponent earlier this season. Six goals were shared between Wincanton and Portishead in an entertaining encounter in South Somerset. Goals from Alex Fox and Oli Henery had given Portishead a two goal lead which was cancelled out by Toby Cole s quick-fire double. Kris Hastings then completed the turnaround, before Fox struck his second of the game 20 minutes from time to grab a draw. Defences were on top at West Clewes, where the fixture between Welton Rovers and Wells City ended in a goalless stalemate. At Weymouth Street, first half goals from Charlie Walton and Conner McKay helped Warminster Town secure a 2-0 victory over Bishops Lydeard.
