TONIGHT S GAME: The Nashville Sounds and Okalahoma City Dodgers open a four-game series tonight at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Dodgers have won six of the fi rst eight against the Sounds this season and hold a 150-130 advantage in the all-time series. Tonight s game will be broadcast live on 102.5 The Game. Jeff Hem is on the call. ON THE MOVE: The Oakland Athletics made a player move that affected the Nashville Sounds roster, as pitcher A.J. Griffin was added from Advanced-A Stockton on rehab assignment. The right-hander is making his way back from Tommy John surgery and made a pair of starts with the Ports (0-0, 7.0 IP, 0 R, 8 K). Griffi n is currently on the A s 40-man roster and last appeared at Triple-A in 2012. ABOUT TUESDAY: The Sounds took the series fi nale on Tuesday against the New Orleans Zephyrs with a 6-3 victory. The rain-shortened game concluded with one out in the top of the sixth inning and helped Nashville win just their fi fth series this year. Matt Carson led the way offensively, hitting his third home run of the year, driving in a trio of runs and scoring three times. PLANET ZITO: Pitcher Barry Zito makes his league-leading 13th start tonight. The left-hander is riding a 21 inning scoreless streak and is 3-0 with a.143 OBA (10-for-70) since taking the mound on May 26 at Sacramento. Tonight is Zito s second career start against Oklahoma City. SHARPENING THE STAFF: Nashville s 3.22 ERA is the best mark in the PCL. After going 1-11 in April, Nashville s starting pitchers are 14-10 with 19 quality starts. Through their last 19 games, the Sounds have 14 wins and a 1.88 ERA (34er/162.2ip), while the staff has allowed two runs or less in 12 of the last 16 contests. Overall, the Sounds have surrendered the fewest hits in the league (439) and have notched a league-leading six combination shutouts. DOWN TO THE WIRE: The Sounds have played a league-leading 22 one-run games. Despite accruing a 10-12 record in those games, Nashville has won six of its last seven one-run contests. DOUBLE TROUBLE: The Sounds have collected 112 two-baggers, T-6th-best in the PCL (Salt Lake leads with 133). Kent Matthes leads the club and is 4th in the league with 19 doubles.
