She started showing in hunter/jumpers, western pleasure, barrels through 4- H and local associations and competing in endurance rides at age 11 with Joyce Mocilan. At age 14 Ms Harp joined Royal Oaks Pony Club and started 3-day eventing with Hunter Oaks Farm. Within the year she became a working student for upper level event rider Kiki Osbourne. During this time she had the opportunity to ride many different horses, assisted with all aspects of horse care and management, and groomed at many competitions. In the fall of 2003 Ms Harp was hired as a trainer at Hunter Oaks Farm. She taught private and group lessons from ages 5 to adults ranging from beginners through intermediate levels. Ms Harp was also able to team up with Kiki Osbourne and coach the Illinois Weslyen University hunter/jumper riding team. Ms Harp has ridden in several clinics with 3-day eventing and dressage riders Ken Dierks, Allison Springer, and Lorna Donahue. In November 2004 Ms Harp moved to Purcellville, Virginia to become a working student for former 3-Day Eventing Olympic rider Phyllis Dawson at Windchase. While there she had the opportunity to ride with 3-Day Eventing 4* rider Melissa Hunsberger and with Dressage trainer Jineen Reed. She assisted in every aspect of horse care from mucking out stalls, stallion handling, foaling, breeding, medicating, fitness, sales and training. While there she rode a variety of horses ranging in all levels of experience, stayed active with Loudoun Hunt Pony Club, rode in eventing instructors certification clinics/testings, taught dressage lessons through 2nd level, and groomed for international 3-Day eventing competitor Pedro Gutierrez. In September 2006 Ms Harp started teaching out of Manassas, Virginia. She was a barn manager for Windy Meadows Farm, organized several camps, had several horses in training, and had over 30 students. Ms Harp relocated to Lindale, Texas in the winter of 2007 and became a riding instructor/trainer at Brunson Equestrian Center, LLC in June 2008.
