We provide the opportunity for riders at all levels to experience the competitive aspect of the sport. Brunson Equestrian Center, LLC and Texas Rose Horse Park, LLC hosts Schooling Shows, Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, Eventing Shows, Team Roping, Barrels, Pony Club, Drill Team, Competitive Trail Riding and all Breed Shows and Clinics in different disciplines at our facility. Instructors and students at Brunson Equestrian Center, LLC participate in World, National, and local horse shows. Instructors encourage students to attend as many shows as possible. Competition is a great way to test your equestrian skills and boost your confidence. Competition teaches you perseverance and gives you the satisfaction of a job well done. That s okay; we ll be more than happy to just teach you to ride, with safety and fun being our #1 goal for you. INSTRUCTOR S QUALIFICATIONS Amanda Harp has been riding since childhood. She started showing in hunter/jumpers, western pleasure, barrels through 4- H and local associations and competing in endurance rides at age 11 with Joyce Mocilan. At age 14 Ms Harp joined Royal Oaks Pony Club and started 3-day eventing with Hunter Oaks Farm. Within the year she became a working student for upper level event rider Kiki Osbourne. During this time she had the opportunity to ride many different horses, assisted with all aspects of horse care and management, and groomed at many competitions. In the fall of 2003 Ms Harp was hired as a trainer at Hunter Oaks Farm. She taught private and group lessons from ages 5 to adults ranging from beginners through intermediate levels. Ms Harp was also able to team up with Kiki Osbourne and coach the Illinois Weslyen University hunter/jumper riding team. Ms Harp has ridden in several clinics with 3-day eventing and dressage riders Ken Dierks, Allison Springer, and Lorna Donahue. In November 2004 Ms Harp moved to Purcellville, Virginia to become a working student for former 3-Day Eventing Olympic rider Phyllis Dawson at Windchase. While there she had the opportunity to ride with 3-Day Eventing 4* rider Melissa Hunsberger and with Dressage trainer Jineen Reed. She assisted in every aspect of horse care from mucking out stalls, stallion handling, foaling, breeding, medicating, fitness, sales and training. While there she rode a variety of horses ranging in all levels of experience, stayed active with Loudoun Hunt Pony Club, rode in eventing instructors certification clinics/testings, taught dressage lessons through 2nd level, and groomed for international 3-Day eventing competitor Pedro Gutierrez. In September 2006 Ms Harp started teaching out of Manassas, Virginia. She was a barn manager for Windy Meadows Farm, organized several camps, had several horses in training, and had over 30 students. Ms Harp relocated to Lindale, Texas in the winter of 2007 and became a riding instructor/trainer at Brunson Equestrian Center, LLC in June 2008. She continues to ride and audit with different clinicians and professional riders. Currently Ms Harp has students competing in NTHJC and USEF Hunter/Jumper Shows.
Lesson Price includes: Horse & Tack. All students are required to wear a smooth soled shoe or boot with a ½ inch heel. No tennis shoes allowed. Brunson Equestrian Center, LLC will provide student with an SEI approved riding helmet if one is needed. No bicycle helmets. Lesson release waivers must be completed and turned in before your first lesson. Monies paid are applied to a ledger with the minimum $120.00. Each time a student takes a lesson the fee for that lesson will be deducted from the ledger. Monies paid to lesson ledgers are non-refundable and must be used for lesson credit only. Gift Certificates are available in the office. Commonly asked Questions & Answers Q: What do I do if I am interested in buying a horse? A: Brunson Equestrian Center, LLC has many horses available for purchase. Our staff will work with you to find the ideal horse for you and your riding needs. We have twenty-five years experience in finding and purchasing a sound and healthy animal. We encourage you to go through Brunson Equestrian Center, LLC for your purchase to ensure a positive experience for you and your horse to be. There will be a finder s fee of at least 10% of the total cost of the horse purchased. This fee will give you the added assurance that the horse or pony you purchase is observed in every way by the finely tuned eye of an individual with many years of experience in the equestrian field. Q: How do we keep up with upcoming events? A: There are several organizations available to join. These organizations will help keep you up to date on show rules, regulations and show dates.
