Registration Registration forms may be completed in person at the Sports Center. Skaters must register for their current skating level at the time of registration. All costumes are ordered specifically for the skater registered. No refunds or exchanges will be made once the costumes have been ordered. Need help measuring your skater? Visit our Northbrook-On-Ice table during select class/event times or ask for verbal assistance from our professionals at the Sports Center front desk. We are happy to help! The final deadline for Tot-Freestyle 4 registration is Friday, January 11. Costume orders will be placed that day and no orders will be taken after the registration deadline unless additional costumes are available. All upper level groupings (FS 5 & Up skaters) will need to register by Friday, December 21. Upper Level Group Registration Information Skaters in levels Freestyle 5 and above are able to participate in an upper level group number. In order to remain eligible for an upper level group number, skaters must participate in either a skating school class during the winter session or participate in an average of four hours of freestyle ice per week of the winter skating school session. Following the upper level registration deadline on Friday, December 21, specific groups will be established based on age and skating level. Results of these groupings will be announced, at which point skaters will select their costume size based on the specified costume. All skaters in an upper level are required to attend both dress rehearsals, tech night and all four performances. Skaters participating in an upper level group number are required to have a parent or guardian fulfill two volunteer shifts of roughly four hours each during production week. Shifts will be offered during dress rehearsals, tech night and during performances. Additional volunteer information will be sent out in early spring. Measuring Your Skater Office staff is available for advice, however, parents are responsible for the final measurements. There are no refunds and/or exchanges on any costumes. Using the chart below, please measure your skater accurately and allow room for growth. During registration, Freestyle 5 & above skaters (upper levels) will only record their measurements. Parents will choose costume sizes at a later date once the upper level divisions have been made. A. Chest B. Waist C. Hips D. Dress rehearsals are scheduled on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5. Dress rehearsals are final practices held in the production rink. All skaters are required to be in full costume with hair and make-up that is show ready. Please refer to the instructions located inside of the costume bag for specific details about hair and costume wear. The dress rehearsals are used to create lighting cues, finalize set design, introduce props for the first time and finalize transitions. These rehearsals are designed to help the director of the show finish the full production. Group pictures in the skater s costumes will be taken during the dress rehearsal days and will be made available for purchase. A detailed dress rehearsal/picture schedule will be distributed in April. Saturday, May 4: Dress Rehearsals (All Day Skaters Beta & Up Only) Sunday, May 5: Dress Rehearsals (All Day All Skaters in the Show) Tech Night Tech night is scheduled on Tuesday, May 7 at 6:30pm. During tech night, full run-throughs of each half of the show will be performed. Final details with lighting, sounds, props, set and choreography will be made. The entire show will be run in one rehearsal with a short ice resurface break during intermission. Tech night is for production purposes only and will be closed to the public. *All FS 1 & Up skaters participating in finale will need to stay until the end! Production Effects Each aspect of the show is taken very seriously and upholds the high standards and traditions of being an exceptional amateur production. Special effects such as smoke and intense lighting may be used during each show. If you would like to exit the production during a specific number to avoid these effects, please visit your usher upon arrival at the facility. Picture Day Picture day is Saturday, April 13. All skaters participating in Northbrook-On-Ice are encouraged to attend! This picture will be included in the Northbrook-On-Ice program which is sold during each performance. All skaters should wear blue jeans, a plain white short- or long-sleeved shirt and skates for the picture. Please review your skater s individual rehearsal schedule to verify the time of their group picture. Skaters should plan to arrive early to check in for their picture and pick up their costume. Group pictures in the skater s costume will be taken during dress rehearsal. Volunteering We need your help! Northbrook-On-Ice relies on the parents of the skaters and members of the community to assist with the production. Volunteer registration will take place online in the early spring.
