Gary Oulds and Terry Knight are happy with the results of a recent Ashdown contest.
Freeflight. At a recent National level contest Gary and Terry reached the fly-offs on Sunday. Gary made 2:26 in Classic Rubber/Power and Terry scored 2:35 in Classic Glider. Gary, Robin?? and Alex Cameron also put in a good performance in team glider. They now have to wait a week or so, to see how we did nationally when the results are published. Mind the lines. The control line mob have been mowing and flying at the Grattons and I joined them on a couple of days. Some good stunt flying was seen by Dick Stepney and Ken Taylor with Kim Jones showing how it is done with a elderly model. Kim Jones Flite Streak which flew well despite not having a fin. Tony was trying to sort out two fast wings with even faster engines he wa trying to get the settings correct but it s a challenge.
Ken Taylor with a 60 s Jaguar combat model, the engine is a 1961 PAW.19D single ball race goes very well. Holy Trinity. I flew my Elf, even managed to work some lift to get over 2 minutes. Usually I seem to fly straight out of it! BBQ 2017. This event was blessed with fine weather, although a little windy. The excellent refreshments were provided by Dick Stepney and his wife, burgers and hot dogs were plentiful although I was a bit miffed as I missed out on the cakes! Some spectacular RC flying took place, while the control line and free-flight flyers flew to the north of the flight line.
