District 3 Notes for York & Adams Counties Week 12 By Bill Engelhardt Class AAAA Playoffs As the 3rd seed the York Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) Division I Wildcats of Dallastown (10-2 overall, 4-1 league) hosted the 11th seed Panthers of Central Dauphin East (7-5 overall, 4-3 Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division) at 7PM on Friday, November 15 in the quarterfinals and edged out a 21-20 victory with a game-winning touchdown with seconds left in the game. The Wildcats will move on and meet the 2nd seed Eagles of Cumberland Valley (10-2 overall, 6-1 Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division) in the semifinal round at Harry C Chapman III Field at Cumberland Valley High School at 7PM on Friday, November 22. Robert Catchings led the Wildcats rushing attack with 99-yards (giving him 1,312-yards and 13 touchdowns for the season so far), followed by Addison Quinones with 1-yard, Dezmond Jones with no yards, and Andrew Henry with minus 3-yards. Quarterback Henry completed 11 of 14 passes for 122-yards and 3 touchdowns (giving him 107 completions for 1,392-yards and 12 touchdowns for the season so far), 5 for 85-yards to Malik Lewis (including touchdowns of 11 and 6-yards), 1 for 19-yards to Owen Ritter, 2 for 9-yards to Max Naill (including a 6-yard touchdown), 2 for 7-yards to Catchings, and 1 for 2-yards to Drew Romesberg, for the Wildcats. McKinley Curran kicked a 35-yard field goal and Quinones intercepted a pass for the Wildcats. Chase Edmonds led the Panthers rushing attack with 166- yards (including a 57-yard touchdown), followed by Jahad Neibauer with 42 (including a 4-yard touchdown), Joseph Lemelle with 4, Quinton Smith with 4, and Tabius Walker with 3-yards. Quarterback Neibauer completed 10 of 14 passes for 105-yards and 1 touchdown, 6 for 57-yards to Paekwon Purdy (including a 19-yard touchdown), and 4 for 48-yards to James Waters, for the Panthers. Sean Orlando kicked 2 extra points for the Panthers. Edmonds now has rushed for 2,150-yards for the season to date for the Panthers. Class AAA Playoffs As the 5th seed the York Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) Division II Eagles of Dover (9-3 overall, 5-0 league) visited the 4th seed Scouts of Conrad Weiser (9-3 overall, 4-3 Berks Inter-County I) at 7PM on Friday, November 15 in the quarterfinals and were shut out 23-0. The Scouts will move on and meet the 1st see Crusaders of Bishop McDevitt (11-1 overall,) in the semifinal round at Rocco Ortenzio Field at Bishop McDevitt High School at 7PM on Friday, November 22. Dexter Jordan led the Scouts rushing attack with 73-yards (including a 16-yard touchdown), followed by Alex Guilbe with 55 (giving him 1,057-yards and 8 touchdowns for the season to date), Josh Joseph with 22, Aidan Brosious with 13, and Pierce, Brosious with 8-yards. Quarterback Aidan Brosious completed 5 of 5 passes for 88-yards and 1 touchdown, 1 for 37-yards to Joseph, 2 for 23-yards to Jordan (including a 13-yard touchdown), 1 for 16-yards to Chase Ober, and 1 for 12-yards to Pierce Brosious, for the Scouts. Zach Torchia recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown, Jake Roth kicked a 26-yard field goal and 2 extra points, Pierce Brosious intercepted a pass, and Ober and Hunter Troup each recovered a fumble, for the Scouts. Dorran Ledbetter led the Eagles rushing attack with 104- yards, followed by Isaiah Green with 67 (giving him 1,257-yards and 14 touchdowns for the

season), Jake McLean with 42, John Sterner with 27, Logan Ambrose with 7, Gabe Jackson with 5-yards, and Tyler Blazasky with minus 11-yards. Class AA Playoffs As the 1st seed the York Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) Division III Thunderbolts of Littlestown (12-0 overall, 9-0 league) hosted the 5th seed Berks Inter-Count 2 Spartans of Wyomissing (6-6 overall, 4-2 league) at 7PM on Friday, November 15 in the semifinals and won 29-23. The Thunderbolts will move on and meet the 2nd seed Saints of Berks Catholic (12-0 overall, 4-3 Berks Inter-County I) at Hershey Park Stadium at 6PM on Saturday, November 23 for the District Championship. Dustin DeGroft led the Thunderbolts rushing attack with 119-yards (including touchdowns of 14, 1 and 3-yards), followed by Trevor Hildebrand with 62 (including a 29-yard touchdown), Lucas Reynolds with 10, and L.J. Miles with 4-yards. Quarterback Hildebrand completed 8 of 17 passes for 89-yards, 5 for 62-yards to Garrett Trout and 3 for 27-yards to Reynolds, for the Thunderbolts. Jeff Garmen kicked 3 extra points, Hildebrand threw a 2-point conversion pass to Todd Cook, and Miles intercepted 2 passes, for the Thunderbolts. Degroft has rushed for 1,270-yards and 17-touchdowns and Hildebrand has passed for 1,487-yards and 10 touchdowns for the season for the Thunderbolts. Tom Paolini led the Spartans rushing attack with 79-yards, followed by Scott McAvoy with 30 (including a 2-yard touchdown), Bryan Weber with 22, Jack Baker with 21, Caleb Naylor with 18, Peter Geyer with 11-yards, and Scott Kuczala with minus 27-yards. Quarterback Kuczala completed 5 of 12 passes for 73-yards and 1 touchdown, 2 for 32-yards to Paolini (including a 6- yard touchdown), 1 for 30-yards to Sean Smith, 1 for 7-yards to McAvoy, and 1 for 4-yards to Finnegan Daly, for the Spartans. Geyer returned an interception 34-yards for a touchdown, Brandon Workman recorded a safety by tackling Trevor Hildebrand in the end zone, and John Masano kicked 3 extra points, for the Spartans. As the 3rd seed the York Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) Division III The Eagles of Bermudian Springs, (10-2 overall, 8-1 league) visited the number 2nd seed Berks Inter- County 2 Saints of Berks Catholic (12-0 overall, 6-0 league) at 7PM on Friday, November 25 in the semifinals and were defeated 42-14. The Saints will move on and meet the 1st seed York Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) Division III Thunderbolts of Littlestown (11-0 overall, 9-0 league) at 6PM at Hershey Park Stadium on Saturday, November 23 for the District Championship. Chris Warren led the Saints rushing attack with 156-yards (including touchdowns of 67, 2, and 42-yards), followed by Marcus Wilson with 42, Pop Lacey with 19, Patrick Causa with 10-yards, Cooper Kutz with minus 1-yard, Todd Reedy with minus 2-yards, and Matt Kase with minus 8-yards. Quarterback Causa completed 5 of 7 passes for 71-yards and 1 touchdown, 2 for 28-yards to Kutz (including a 21-yard touchdown), 1 for 16-yards to Pietro Gaspari, 1 for 15-yards to Wilson, and 1 for 12-yards to Kyle Eliff, and Kase completed 1 of 2 passes for 82-yards and a touchdown to Lacey, for the Saints. Kutz returned an interception 39- yards for a touchdown and Drew Stanko kicked 6 extra points for the Saints. The Fighting Irish will move on and meet the 1st seed Steamrollers of Steelton-Highspire (10-1 overall, 6-1 Mid-Penn Capital Division) at 12PM at Hershey Park Stadium on Saturday, November 23 for the District Championship. Hakeem Kinard led he Fighting Irish rushing attack with 192-yards (including a 13-yard touchdown), followed by Jack Burnside with 39 (including touchdowns of 2, 1, and 4- yards), and Doug Mills with 10-yards. Quarterback Kinard completed 6 of 14 passes for 79- yards and 1 touchdown, 3 for 51-yards to Qua shawn Grooms (including a 25-yard touchdown), 1 for 15-yards to Miles Elliott, 1 for 7-ysrds to Nathan Haney, and 1 for 6-yards to Scott Bartkowiak, for the Fighting Irish. Haney kicked 5 extra points, intercepted 2 passes, and caused a fumble, Qua shawn Grooms recovered a fumble, Ian Shelley recorded 2 sacks, and Travis Fisher recorded 1 sack, for the Fighting Irish. Kinard has completed 106 passes for 1,699-yards and 19 touchdowns and rushed for 1,168-yards and 11 touchdowns for the season to date for the Fighting Irish. As the 4th seed the York Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) Division III Knights of Fairfield (6-5 overall, 5-4 league) visited the 1st seed Steamrollers of Steelton Highspire (10-1 overall, 6-1 Mid-Penn Capital Division) at War Veterans Memorial Field at 7PM on Friday, November 15 in the semifinal round of the District 3 class A Playoffs and were defeated 53-6, after putting up a whale of a fight and trailing only 7-6 at half time. The Steamrollers will move on and face the Fighting Irish of York Catholic (7-3 overall, 6-3 YAIAA Division III) at 12PM at Hershey Park Stadium on Saturday, November 23 for the District Championship. Shaheim Moody-Williams led the Steamrollers rushing attack with 95-yards (including a 4-yard touchdown), followed by James Warren with 78 (including touchdowns of 79 and 20-yards), Tyquan Walker with 24, Brett Clea with 16, Logan Davis with 11-yards and a touchdown, Zedaah Moffitt with 7, Alex Furlan with 4-yards, and Keegan Shay with minus 11- yards. Quarterback Warren completed 9 of 12 passes for 106-yards and 2 touchdowns and Shay completed 1 of 3 passes for 5-yards for the Steamrollers. Jaki Haywood caught 4 passes for 47- yards (including a 9-yard touchdown), Clea caught 3 passes for 34-yards, Jorge Caraballo caught 1 pass for 18-yards and a touchdown, and Davis caught 2 passes for 10-yards, for the

Steamrollers. Warren returned a punt 51-yards for a touchdown, Davis returned a fumble 39- yards for a touchdown, and Caraballo kicked 4 extra points for the Steamrollers. Nicholas Mort led the Knights rushing attack with 62-yards (including a 7-yard touchdown), followed by Michael Quealy with 27, and Dalton Carbaugh with 20-yards.
