Hockey Development: Carlee Monias - Shoot to Score camp went well. Carlee sent an email to coaches asking for their thoughts about it. It was disappointing how few coaches came out on the ice with Jaime Leach. - Jamie Leach asked if TMHA would be interested in being involved in an alumni game. Flin Flon is hosting one in February and if we joined we would save some money. He is sending her more info. - Carlee has parents approaching her regarding the amount of ice time. She is following the plan on long term player development. Directors need to use the ice time they are given properly. With stations there can be as many as 60 kids on the ice at a time. - Carlee would like to try starting the season in September next year. - It was suggested we start looking into ice expectations for next year and maybe changing registration fees accordingly. On-Ice Officials: Donnie Mitchell Donnie inquired about suspensions. Is TMHA notified if a player is suspended outside our league. Matt would be informed. Would that suspension carry over to TMHA? There is nothing in our policy, it depends on the circumstance. Ice Operations: Dave Dawson- Regrets Equipment Manager: Adam Uhrina- Regrets Tournament Director: Shelly Ellingson - Shelly is having trouble booking rooms for the Prince-Berscheid Tournament. - There are currently only two teams registered for the Bantam Tournament - There are currently no buses to send rosters out on. Suggested to see if they can be scanned and emailed. Munn Cup: Jenny Cameron- Regrets Pre-Novice: Jacques Abgrall- Regrets Novice: Dennis Rathgeber - There are 4 teams in novice. 90-95% of the kids have been coming out. Denis would like more ice time. The tournament in Flin Flon is on November 30 and these teams need time to play as a team. - Denis will get the invitations from Flon Flon to Erin so she can pay the registration fees and get the rosters from Luke. He will send Jessica the team names for the travel permits. - Denis will let Donnie know as soon as he knows when his first novice games will be. Atom: Devin Richcoon- Regrets Pee-wee: Rob Bassett Nothing to report.
Bantam: Dave Johnstone Midget: Lindsay Anderson- Regrets Midget house league needs a safety person. Lindsay would like someone to take over as Midget Director, she doesn t know if she has the time to commit. Female: Vacant Fundraising Coordinator: Jessica Smith Jessica received an email from Ron Laroque informing her that no travel permits will be approved for January until provincial play downs are planned. Jessica sent all travel permits out on Friday with the exception of the peewee AA. New Business: - Ice Times Denis wants more ice time for novice house league. Rep teams have bee getting ice times he s had for novice for years. He worked with ice operations to get some ice times with no cleaning in between. According to long term player development novice players should get two hours of ice per week. Currently novice has four ice times and four teams which would allow each team to have two hours per week. All four teams should be able to go on the ice at once if practices are run in a station style as suggested by LTPD. The city is currently short ice plant operators which is affecting the ice times available. Directors that would like more ice time for their league are to put on paper how many kids are in their division, how many ice times they would like and when, how may teams are in their division, and we can see what can be worked out. 8:00pm Jessica Smith left the room. - Old jerseys Adam has cleaned up the equipment room and found that there are a lot of jerseys that are not being used. Matt is looking into options. One option is to box them up and send them to a community in need. - Trophy cabinet The city of Thompson is donating $15 000 towards a trophy cabinet. It will be in the TRCC lobby, there is a design in place. Greg has spoken to RDPC, the kids will build the cabinet. - Bantam tournament/medals There are currently only 2 teams showing interest in attending the Don Maclean Bantam Tournament. Shelly is holding off on ordering the medals waiting to hear from more teams, but has to order them at least two weeks before the tournament.
Old Business: - Rink dividers A letter has been made up to give to businesses interested in purchasing ads on the boards to cover the costs of purchase. (see attached) The boards will not be purchased until we have enough ads purchased; if we do not get enough to cover the cost any money will be returned to the businesses. The letter needs to have the TMHA letterhead added to it. o Motion to send the donation letter regarding the rink dividers after adding the TMHA letterhead.
