All relay events will be A- B-C combined. Facility: Timing System: Meet Time Schedule: Eight (8) lanes, 25-yard pool with non-turbulent lane markers, backstroke flags, and 30 blocks. Pool depth is 3.5 ft. at its shallow end and 9 ft. at starting block end. The 2 nd and the 4 th leg of the 100 yard relays will be required to start in the water. Ample parking available in the high school parking lot and seating in the pool area. The Competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2(C). Colorado System 5 electronic timing system with strobe/horn start touch pads and manual backup timing buttons except for 25 yard events which will be hand timed with electronic stopwatches; each lane will have 2 timers with electronic stopwatches. All events will be timed finals. Each lane will have two timers with electronic stop watches. AM Session: Warm ups 7:30-8:30 AM Meet Begins: 8:40 AM PM Session: Warm-ups for PM session will last 60 minutes Warm-ups for the P.M. session will not begin before 11:00 AM Afternoon session will begin 65 minutes after the morning session but not before 12:05 PM. Warm Ups: The first half hour of each warm up session will be circle swim only in all lanes. The last half hour, lanes 1,2, and 3 will be for one way sprints, diving from the block permitted. Feet first three-point entries from the starting end of the pool during general warm-ups will be enforced for all sanctioned/approved competition. All swimmers must also have a current 2009-2010 USA Swimming registration. Swimmers age as of February 14, 2010 shall determine age group eligibility. All out of state swimmers must register with the Meet Director prior to entering the water: a valid USA Swimming membership card must be presented. Coaches acting in a coaching capacity must have passed the required certification tests and must display the current membership card. Official 2010 Short Course USA Swimming Rules shall prevail for this meet. Swimmers must be registered WISCONSIN USA Swimming swimmers. Swimmers age is as of February14, 2010. No Recall Starts. Only entries from teams invited to the meet will be accepted. Swimmers may compete in four (4) individual events per day plus two (2) relays. Entries will be accepted up to a maximum of 1200 entries for the meet. This meet will be run using Hy-Tek meet manager. All teams are encouraged to submit entries on a disk or via e mail in the Hy-Tek commlink format. A hard copy of entries must accompany a disk. All swimmers are expected to be at the blocks, ready to swim, when their events and heats are announced. Deck entries will be permitted in unfilled heats only, and at the discretion of the Meet Director. Deck seeding will close at 8:00 AM for the morning session and 11:30 AM for the afternoon session. "Please indicate on the entries form any special needs for those athletes requiring assistance. Also, please inform the head official of those needs prior to the start of the meet." Send completed waiver, entry forms, and entry fees to the Meet Director no later than January 31, 2010. Late entries will not be accepted after Tuesday before the meet except for deck seeding the day of the meet. The meet will be run using Hy-Tek Meet Manager. Meet entries on disc or e-mail using Hy-tek Meet Manager is highly encouraged. Scoring will be computerized. Entry fees are $4.00 for individual events ($5.00 for deck seed), $12.00 for relays ($15.00 for deck seed), and a $3.00 splash fee per swimmer. Entry fees must accompany entry forms. Make checks payable to: Waterloo Swim Club. Fees are non-refundable. Admission is $3.00 for adults. There is no admission fee for students. Heat sheets are $5.00. Coach s packets will be available at the computer table. Coaches and club officials desiring to be on deck will be required to display proof of current USA Swimming membership at all times. Team Grouping/Scoring: The teams will be placed into one of two groups that will be based on Conference team entries. For example, if DFAC enters 500 swims, OCSC enters 350 swims, WRAT enters 325 swims FAST enters 300 swims, WAT enters 150 swims, LOO enters 175 swims, CWWM enters 100 swims, and STAR enters 100 swims: DFAC, OCSC, WRAT, and FAST will be Group 1 (the larger teams) WAT, LOO, CWWM, and STAR will be Group 2 (the smaller teams) Points will be awarded based on 16 places, 20, 19, 18, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 9, 8, 7, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Relays count as double points and only the top relay from each team will score points. The swimmers from both groups will compete together but the teams will be competing against only the teams in their division. The races will be scored as is and will not be separated out for the different groups. For example, say Susie swimmer from OCSC came in 1st in the 50 free and Sally Swimmer came in 2nd from WAT, Susie would receive 20 points and Sally would receive 18 points despite what division they are competing in. All events will be scored as is and for that age group. For example, an 11 year old can choose to swim a Senior/Open event but they will NOT be scored with the 11-12 age group, they will be scored as an Senior/Open swimmer. Awards: A team trophy will be awarded for 1st-3rd places for both group 1 teams and group 2 teams. Medals will be awarded to 1-3 for each event and ribbons will be awarded 4-16 for each event. Relays will be awarded 1-3rd place ribbons. Racing Eligibility: A Senior in High School or below will be allowed to score in the Conference meet. A swimmer of older status can participate on the relays or individual races but the points will not score. The swimmer must have a current USA certification in order to participate. Concessions: Meet Results: Conduct: Food and beverages will be available at reasonable prices in the high school cafeteria and must be consumed in the cafeteria. Each team will be mailed one copy of the meet results. Additional copies will be available for $5.00 per copy and may be purchased by contacting the Meet Director. It is expected that each club will be responsible for the conduct of their swimmers in all areas of the high school. A rest area will be provided in the high school cafeteria for the swimmers. If in the opinion of the meet marshals and/or Meet Director, a swimmer s conduct is harmful to others or property, they will be asked to leave the meet. In accordance with the Federal Video Voyeurism Prevention Act of 2004 the use of camera phones or video recording devices in the locker rooms is prohibited.
