6 FUNDRAISING As you might know, the Griffith Sport Toohey Trail Run will donate a portion of your registration fee to our Official Charity Partner, Diabetes Queensland. FUNDRAISING PLATFORM But, did you know that you can also fundraise too? By creating an Everyday Hero Account (getinvolved.diabetesqld.org.au/event/tooheytrailrun2018) you too can raise much needed funds online for our Charity Partner. Invite friends, family, your boss and even strangers to support your walk, run, shuffle or crawl on the day. Visit diabetesqld.org.au for more fundraising tips and inspiration. DID WE MENTION THERE IS A PRIZE FOR THE HIGHEST FUNDRAISER? INCLEMENT CONDITIONS Could the event be cancelled? Highly unlikely. If weather deems the event unsafe, the event will be cancelled or postponed. If the event is cancelled before event day, every effort will be made to notify all participants by email, a notice will be placed on the website and the Griffith Sport Toohey Trail Run Facebook page. PLEASE NOTE: The decision to cancel an event is not made lightly; safety is our main priority when making this decision. Unfortunately the entry fee is non-refundable.
7 FAST FACTS This is an all-terrain course, a mixture of bitumen, grass, trail and dirt Off Road / Racing Prams are permitted at no extra charge anyone racing with a pram needs to start to the side or the back of the pack The cut off time for all competitors is 10:00 am (3 hrs 30 mins for 21.1 km, 3 hrs 15 mins for 10 km and 3 hrs 5 mins for 5 km). The event is described as a bitumen to bush course that traverses a selection of road, trail, bituminised trail, rough trail & cross country terrain. You will find short and long steep hills, sharp turns and long cantered sections all combining to constantly disrupt your rhythm much more so than a race on an even flat surface. The course maps provide markings to guide you through the different terrain and create a plan for your run. The event is a keep right course due to the direction of the course (to eliminate packs & overtaking on narrow sections of the trail), you will need to keep right at all times (instead of your natural instincts to keep left). As the tracks are narrower than a road race it is more important that if you choose to run with headphones, please keep one out so you can hear calls from behind you for behind, overtaking, watch out etc.

9 PRESENTATION CEREMONIES AFTER THE RACE Upon completing your race, please make your way past the Recovery Station where you can rehydrate and enjoy some fruit before heading into the Event Precinct. There will be coffee and food vendors onsite, sponsor stalls with special offers, free giant games, and free stage entertainment. Crash on a beanbag, and enjoy your cool down. We are aiming to commence the Presentation Ceremony for the overall winners at 8:00 am for the 5 km and 10 km, and 8:30 am for the 21.1 km Half Marathon. The category winners and novelty awards will be presented closer to 10:00 am (or a little after). Please Note: We understand that these presentations will be held while there are still runners competing on the course, but it allows our elite competitors to receive their awards and have the largest possible audience to congratulate them.
