Website: www.woodstockmoose.com kids Halloween CoStume Party Calling all Pirates, Ballerinas, Super Heroes, Dracula s and Witches too! We ve got a fun-filled Halloween party just for you! Festivities are planned for Sunday, October 22nd at 2:00pm. There will be food, games, crafts and candy for all. A costume competition will commence at 2:30 for children ages 0 to 12 and will be separated into 4 age groups. We re so excited to see you all dressed up with smiling faces! All children must be accompanied by an adult and be a relative of a member in good standing. We greatly appreciate any candy donations that can be dropped off in the Social Quarters. Thank you for your support. Kristy Phelps and Amanda Aleman Burger night October 26th burger night will feature a PIZZA BURGER. A 1/3 lb. patty with pizza sauce, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese. As always regular burgers will also be available along with fresh hand-cut fries and onion rings. Also, during the football season we will be selling HOT DOGS on Sundays from 12p until after the Sunday drawings. Proceeds from the October burger and hot dog sales will be donated to TEAM RUBICON a non-profit organization made up of veterans who assisted the first responders during both Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. We start serving at 5pm. Burger committee 99tH year raffle Once again, we had a great turnout for the 99th year raffle on September 9th. Thanks to all who came in that night. Once again, the person who won the raffle was present and walked away with the 50% extra from the ticket sales. this month it was an additional $87.00. From the governor Just for a little information we would like to let our members know that we are currently looking at a new system to take credit /debit cards. We are also talking to other gaming companies to see if we can get better response time when the new games come out. Our progress will be talked about at the general meetings until we make a final choice that will benefit both our members and the lodge. Please come out to the meeting to learn more. See you there. Mike WOTM We have a busy month coming up. October is our time to donate to the Mooseheart and Moosehaven Christmas funds. These Moose Family Center No. 1329 are used for Christmas gifts and activities. Monetary donations will be accepted during our October 10th meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting but wish to donate, please leave it in an envelope at the bar marked for us. The October 2nd Monday night dinner will be Swiss Steak for $11.00. October 30th, we will be serving Corned Beef and cabbage for $12.00. This is our annual 1/2 way to St Pat s Day just a little late this year. November 6th will be our Annual Turkey dinner. This is on a Monday this year instead of Saturday, so hope all can take advantage of it. It will include soup, salad bar, turkey with all the trimmings plus dessert. All for $12.00. These dinners need helpers so we will be making calls to see who can help us out. Thanks to all who volunteer on a regular basis. If we work together we will have a stronger lodge and chapter. We have plans to install a Senior Regent and Jr. Regent at our October 24th meeting. Join us at 7pm to see who has accepted these two positions. Our Moose Legion will feature our signature omelets and breakfast buffet line. A blood drive will take place this Sunday and a free breakfast will be offered to all blood donors. ~Lightning~ EVERY SATURDAY 1:30 PM Hearts Raffle Every Friday 6:30pm - 8:00pm Join us for the Lightning Raffl e every Saturday at 1:30 PM! Volume 99, Issue 10 An All State Conferral for our Moose Legion will take place October 13th, 14th and 15th. This event is at the Belleview/Swansea Lodge in southern Illinois. Anyone who is interested in attending please contact Bill Lock our Moose Legion President. Moose Legion Chairman, Dave Jayne Silvermanes The September meeting of the Silvermanes was held on the 12th with six members. Peg Stock opened the meeting at 1:10 with the Pledge to the Flag followed by the prayer said by Chaplain Margo Guido. Six dollars was collected for the Food Pantry. A thank you was received from Helping Paws and a note was received from the parents of Maxwell, the little boy we donated to that has leukemia, that he is starting to walk now and seems to be coming along. The turkey dinner has been changed from Saturday, Nov. 4th to Monday, Nov. 6th. Our meetings will revert back to the second Wednesday beginning in October. The time will remain the same and if you want to join us for lunch, we will be eating at the club and ordering off the menu. It was voted on that $50.00 will be donated to the Food Pantry and $50.00 will go to Helping Paws. December 13th will be our Christmas Potluck. Ron had the only birthday in September. Door prizes went to Bonnie and Ron. Bonnie also won the attendance prize. Meeting was adjourned and was played. Respectfully submitted, Bonnie Kagel, Secretary Poinsetta Fundraiser & Holiday Arrangement We are pleased to offer poinsettias again for this holiday season, grown right here in Woodstock at Kolze s Corner Gardens! This year we will be offering a wide variety 55 of colors in 2 sizes. Prices will be $15 each or three for $40 for the 7 pot, or $25 each for an 8 pot. We will start taking orders on Friday nights starting October 27th thru Friday, November 17th. Pick-up will be in early December during the kid s Shop with Santa and Sunday breakfast. The exact date and time for the pick-up will be available in the November Moose Call and the flyers that will be posted in the Lodge sometime in October. We will also be offering the Holiday Arrangement activity again this year, to be held on Sunday afternoon, November 26th. We will have a sign-up sheet in the foyer. There will be a small fee to cover the cost of the fresh cut greenery & supplies. A limited number of containers will again be available for purchase, we encourage you to get creative and look for an old coal bucket or watering can! You might also be able to find a holiday container at a local thrift store. Everyone who participated last year had a great time, so we look forward to a great turnout again this year! All proceeds from these events will go towards events and activities for children at the Lodge. Everything went very smoothly with your help and quick set up. Hope it was worth your time you spent putting up your displays.
