The importance of Medical Research to Health Teaching hospitals have a culture of evidence based medicine based on research outcomes A top class research environment attracts the best doctors and establishes the best clinical units Provides a gateway for advances in clinical care and introduction of drug treatments Worldwide healthcare is a business in which Western Sydney should participate e.g. biotechnology industries are established around outstanding medical research/teaching hospitals/university complexes, Stanford, Harvard this is happening in Australia especially Melbourne, Brisbane and Macquarie, it will happen in Western Sydney
