2 Sirocco Golf Club provides junior golfers (ages 4-18) the chance to enjoy and learn the game of golf through an affordable and accessible junior program. By partnering with Future Links, we are able to provide juniors with a fun-filled learning environment. Learn to Play is a developmental program that tracks improvement and is intended for a range of junior golfers, from beginner to advanced. Each stage teaches important golf techniques as well as sportsmanship, etiquette and leadership. The Sirocco Golf Club offers both Chartered and Sponsored Junior Memberships. Chartered Juniors are the children and grandchildren of our Charter members. Sponsored Junior membership are available to the general public. Juniors are encouraged to utilize the practice facility and golf course as much as possible - Unlimited golf with 7 day advance booking. Anytime Monday through Thursday and any time after 3pm on Fridays, Weekends and holidays. - Chartered Juniors can play anytime but must be accompanied by their member parent in the restricted times. - Unlimited range and practice facility access - Included Golf Canada Membership - Sunday Night Junior Clinics - Discounted Private Lesson Rates - Priority access to Junior Camps - Participation in Sirocco Junior Club Championships - Participation in Foothills Junior Interclub Tour Events - Optional Charge Accounts available - Club storage and locker available for added fee. 3 2019 Junior Dates The 2019 Season officially kicks off with the Junior Orientation scheduled for Sunday, April 28th staring at 4:30 pm. We will be introducing our Professional Team, outlining the program for the year and answering any questions you may have. Our professional staff will ensure all junior members are set up and comfortable with the golf club. All parents and juniors are encouraged to join us. We will be providing pizza and refreshments for all those in attendance. The following Sunday our Junior Nights begin. Each scheduled event will consist of a one hour learning session available to all Sirocco Junior Members with our certified PGA of Canada Professionals and qualified volunteers. Please note that once a month, we will be setting aside tee times beginning at 5 pm so that our juniors can take the lessons learned at the practice facility out onto the course. You must register for the sessions you are looking to attend so that our professional team can prepare accordingly. The sessions are weather dependent and subject to cancellation. Signup is available starting on the orientation night. 5 2019 Foothills Junior Interclub Tour Sirocco Golf Club is a participant and a host of the Foothills Junior Interclub Tour. A team of 4 Sirocco Junior members will have the opportunity to represent Sirocco throughout scheduled tour events (schedule TBD by FJIT). InterClub Objective Increase participation in Junior Golf and provide an enjoyable introduction and training for competitive golf events. Sirocco Code of Conduct Junior Program 6 1. Our junior members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful Manner at all times while at the facility. Our juniors are also expected to behave this way while representing the club at other golf courses whether playing for team Sirocco at Interclub events, other tournaments or just a casual round of golf. Sirocco Golf Club will not tolerate inappropriate behavior including: Interfering with the learning environment of other players Harassment of any kind including abuse, fighting, threats and other inappropriate behavior There will be ZERO Tolerance towards any forms of bullying Any behavioral issues will be brought to the attention of the parent immediately. If behavioral issues persist, Sirocco reserves the right to remove the Junior from membership with written notice. A dues refund will not be issued. 2. Juniors must adhere to basic golf course etiquette including; a) Pace of Play - Juniors are required to understand time pars and follow them. b) Course care - It is critical that all members replace divots, rake bunkers and repair ball marks. c) Playing with fellow members. If Juniors are joined with another group or are playing on their own they are to act respectfully and with accordance to the Sirocco Code of Conduct. 3. Juniors 12 and over can play unaccompanied on the golf course and practice facility. Juniors between the ages of 10 and 12, must pass a knowledge and etiquette test. Juniors under 10 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. 4. Power Carts Power carts may only be operated by members with a valid Alberta Drivers License. 5. Please show up 15 minutes prior to your tee time and check in with the pro shop 6. Dress Code - Sirocco Junior members are to adhere to the dress enforced at the club: Proper golf shoes (soft spikes) or runners are required.
