Welcome to our Club The Castlecliff Club was incorporated on 1 October 1962 and the original Clubrooms on the present site were opened on 22 May 1965. Throughout its history the Club has progressively expanded and updated the buildings and the range of facilities available to members. Today, through the Adjuncts and other services, the Club offers members many different avenues of activity. Use the Facilities Enjoy your Membership
New Members Orientation Meeting The purpose of this evening is to ensure you are familiar with the Club s facilities and membership benefits. This Club has a host responsibility policy in place and we are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our members, while on Club premises, or participating in Club activities. Our dress standards are publicised on the notice board alongside the Manager s Office. Please be aware of our standards. If in doubt, dress to impress. Your Club operates a courtesy coach on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 4pm till closing and on Sundays as required. A gold coin donation per person would be appreciated, and is only available to members and their guests intending to use the Club facilities.
It is important that you carry your member-ship card with you at all times while on Club premises, or using Club facilities. Subscriptions are set annually and progressively reduce as the year passes. Membership is valid from the 1st April to the 31st March. The current annual subscription is $55.00 for a couple, or $35.00 for an individual, but these prices are discounted to $40 for a couple, $25 for an individual and $12.50 if you are over sixty and pay your subscription prior to the 28th February each year. don't drink & drive! our courtesy coach will get you home safely REFLECTIONS BAR And VEANDERCROSS LOUNGE This is the Club s main bar and lounge area and provides both table and chair as well as leaner furniture. A modern accessible bar serves a wide range of draught and bottled ales, as well as a great selection of wines, spirits, liqueurs and various beverages. Club Dress Rules The standard of dress MUST be clean and tidy at all times. Casual clothing such as t-shirts with sleeves and football jerseys are acceptable for males, while casual, neat and tidy clothing for women is acceptable this includes fashion apparel. Greasy or excessively dirty clothing is NOT an acceptable standard of dress in our Club. Footwear MUST be worn at all times. Gumboots, hobnail boots and dirty footwear is NOT acceptable. No hats are to be worn, except for medical reasons. An off sales service is available to members. It is in all members interest to treat Club facilities and amenities with due respect. Things To Do In Your Club Our Restaurant It is our intention to create a warm and friendly environment within the Castlecliff Club and provide a wide range of social and leisure activities for you to enjoy. Membership Draws Thursday Draw, enter your $2 between 5.30 and 6.30pm, drawn at 6.30pm. Saturday Draw, enter your $2 between 6 and 7pm, drawn between 7.30 and 8.00pm. Both draws jackpot each night if not struck. $25 paid out to the closest number drawn, when the draw is not struck. See notice board for details Private functions welcome Housie This is played every Tuesday night from 7.30pm. Tickets are on sale from 6pm. Housie is a good asset to our Club, and we have completed a number of Club improvements from Housie proceeds:- renovated toilets, renewed lounge and main bar furniture. Snooker Played on Thursday nights starting at 7pm. Snooker holds a number of tournaments in the Club and also hosts a number of visiting clubs. Seniors Every Thursday afternoon the seniors have a roll up on the bowls mat. The seniors have a very social time with visits to out of town clubs along with hosting visiting clubs. A varied program throughout the year with something for everyone to join in. Texas Poker Friday evening with games starting at 7.00pm. Tournaments are held throughout the year. Interclub visits, Or register for Champions Poker League, Sundays from 2pm. Within the Club you will find a number of notice boards. Please take the time to browse around and find out what is going on in YOUR CLUB. Entertainment The Club provides its members with a mixture of live bands, sporting events, and fun nights. Quiz and Race nights are very popular. Throughout the year we host a variety of show bands. We also hold a popular Formal Ball each year. For further details watch notice boards and local papers. You are welcome to bring guests into the Club, however, you should make them aware of Club standards, and at all times you will be responsible for them. T A B An Ezybet machine is available for your convenience, operating 7 days a week. Gaming Machines The club provides gaming machines for your enjoyment, but please be aware - the odds are you will lose. We support the principles of responsible gaming and care about our members and their families. If you do find you have a gambling problem we have procedures in place for selfexclusion.
Adjuncts The Castlecliff Club is governed by a President, Vice-President and eight committee. Please approach any of the above, or the Manager, if you have any new ideas that will make our club more enjoyable for all. We welcome you as a new member and trust you will enjoy the facilities and the fellowship that the Castlecliff Club has to offer. Our policy is to serve members, their guests and affiliated members in a friendly, responsible and professional manner. Tea and Coffee A range of non and low alcohol drinks. Free iced water Courtesy Van Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 4pm Cards Thursday evenings with games starting at 7.30pm also once a month on a Sunday afternoon. Cards have an annual tournament at Queens Birthday Weekend and also a pairs tournament later in the year. Fishing Many competitions throughout the year boat fishing, surfcasting and trout fishing. Also a popular Kids Fishing Competition Darts Thursday evenings from 5.30pm onwards. Darts also compete in Charter 4 s and hosts other clubs. Cue Sports Thursday evenings starting at 7pm. A number of competitions are held throughout the year. Golf Played throughout the year, also has a Sunday Haggle and trips away. Indoor Bowls Played on Monday nights starting at 7.30pm. Bowls have a number of competitions, local and at other clubs.
