STC Equestrian & Sports Centre IN-HOUSE Rules & Regulations Dear Riders, Thank you for supporting the NATIONAL HORSE SHOW 2017! We are very excited that you are here with us. As you are our guest, we would like to highlight some of the more important in-house procedures in order to make your stay here at STCEC a comfortable and positive experience: 1. Helmets are MANDATORY while mounted. Please ensure your chin strap is done up. STC is a horse racing facility, therefore this is an MRA requirement, carrying a RM500 fine. 2. Kindly park your floats at the designated float parking area, not in the stable area. Our Security personnel are available to direct you to the appropriate area. 3. All riders, visitors, groom etc. with vehicles, kindly park your vehicles by the Guardhouse at Visiting Stables for entry to your stable modules in the A area (closest to Arena 2 - Warmup). All others will be directed to the Trainers Carpark B. 4. Our Stable Manager Mr S. Anthony is available to address your concerns and needs regarding stabling. 5. Track No.1. (main race track) & Track No. 2 are STRICTLY OFF LIMITS to all Equestrian Horses at all times. 6. The Heath track is open for use daily from 10.30am onwards. Closed on Sunday. 7. Arena 2 (Warmup) is open for use during the period of the competition for schooling and warmup. Kindly adhere to the stewards directions for arena designation. 8. Arena 4 (Grass Arena) is open at specific times. Beware of horses that are sharing paddock space with this arena. 9. Black plastic bags are available for purchase. Please check with our Stable Manager who will be roaming around on a motorbike. 10. The Horse Swimming Pool is open daily for use from 2pm 4pm. VISITOR FACILITIES 11. There are Hot Showers (Male/Female) available at the Pre-Race Holding Yard adjacent to the Riding School. Access from EQST Main Yard. 12. F&B The Carnival will be in session on 10 12 November. NATIONAL HORSE SHOW 2017 10 12 November 2017 To All Participating Clubs and Teams HORSE PASSPORTS / VACCINATIONS Please be informed that all horses and ponies intending to participate in this competition will be required to be immunized against the following: a. Equine Influenza (EI) b. Japanese B Encephalitis (Jap B) Horses that have already been immunized must show documentation that the vaccinations have been administered by the Official Veterinary Surgeon of a Turf Club or a Government Veterinary Surgeon. These records must be entered in the horse registration cards/passports issued by the EAM or FEI and must be produced at the time of entry. Horses and ponies attempting to enter WITHOUT up-to-date vaccination records will be denied entry into the club s premises and competition. NATIONAL HORSE SHOW 2017 General Conditions of Entry Competition : NATIONAL HORSE SHOW 2017 Organiser : Selangor Turf Club Dates : Friday, 10 th November 2017 through Sunday, 12 th November 2017 Venue : STC Equestrian & Sports Centre Jalan Kuda Emas, Off Jalan Sungei Besi 57100 Kuala Lumpur Closing Date : TUESDAY, 31 st OCTOBER 2017 Entry Forms : The Official Forms are attached at the very end of the book. Entries must be submitted on an official form, any other form of entry will not be entertained. Entries can be submitted in person, via fax or email. Phone/SMS/FACEBOOK entries WILL NOT be entertained. Kindly PRINT clearly to avoid any errors. Entry Fees : Please refer to the Competition Schedule. Kindly settle all outstanding fees in full before the commencement of the competition including stabling fees. A one-time administration fee of RM 100 per rider is applicable. Entries, admin fee and stabling are subject to 6% GST Entry Cancellation : Entries cancelled after the Closing Date must be verified with a Veterinarian Medical Certificate for a full refund of the entry fee. Late Entry : Late Entries are defined as entries made after the CLOSING DATE to the last class of the competition. These will be double the normal entry fee. Exception: Show Jumping entries will be accepted up to 24 hours before the commencement of the class at the normal entry fee. Official Competition : The Dressage competition will run under Equestrian Australia (EA) rules. In any circumstance where EA rules are not available, FEI rules will apply. The Showjumping competition will run under FEI Rules. Please refer to each specific section for details of rules. Participant Min. Age Requirement : 7 years old at 10 th November 2017 Unofficial Competition : Dressage: Preparatory. Showjumping: Ride & Cycle Horse Registration : For all classes, all horses and ponies must be registered with the EAM/FEI. Horses or ponies not registered will not be allowed to participate in the event. Horse Welfare : NO HORSE MAY ENTER MORE THAN 4 CLASSES OVERALL DURING ONE DAY OR NO MORE THAN 3 JUMPING CLASSES PER DAY. Waiver, Rules & : Please return all waiver and acknowledgement forms by the Regulations Closing Date Tuesday, 31 st October 2017 Competitors without signed forms will not be allowed to compete. 4

Competition Ground : Sand & Grass. General Conditions of Entry (Con t) Horse Arrival / Departure : Horses will be allowed into the stables from 7 th November (Tuesday) and will have to leave the premises by 12pm, 13 th November (Monday). Horse Passport / : Photos of the vaccination page in the passport needs to be sent in Vaccination Certificate with your entries. It is mandatory for horses/ponies competing to be inoculated against Equine Influenza (EI) and Japanese B Virus. The medical records must indicate proper inoculations and clearance. If these conditions are not complied with, the horses/ponies will be denied entry into the compound and competition/asked to leave. Stabling : RM 80.00 per horse per day for a non-air conditioned stall: LIMITED 80 units only. Allocation will be made on a first-come-first-served basis. RM 80.00 per horse per day for an air conditioned stall: 20 units Drug Testing : Random urine testing of horses / ponies for prohibited substances may be conducted if advised by the Official Treating Veterinarian. Horse Numbers : Horse Identification Numbers will be distributed at the Technical Briefing. Kindly ensure your horse is wearing its number for ease of Identification. Insurance : All owners and competitors are personally liable for damages to third persons caused by themselves, their employees, their agents, or their horses. They are therefore, strongly advised to take out third party insurance providing full coverage for participation in equestrian events at home and abroad, and to keep their policy up to date. Technical Briefing : A Technical Briefing will be held Thursday, 9 th November 2017 at 5:30 PM for all Club Managers, Judges and participants at the spectactors area at the main arena (Arena 1). Your presence is required at this briefing to obtain the latest information on changes or alterations to the competition programme. PROVISION FOR TESTING FOR PROHIBITIVE SUBSTANCES The organising Committee of the National Horse Show 2017 reserves the right to randomly test horses and ponies for the use of prohibitive substances during the course of the show should the need arise. THE USE OF THE STABLES AND OTHER FACILITIES 1. SERVICE AREA The Service Area is located in the centre of the cluster of stables. The service area is meant for loading and unloading of feed and other items. Horses are not allowed in this area. Vehicles using the service roads should keep the speed as low as possible. 2. HORSE-WALKS Horses walking around the stable complex or those going to the training grounds must use the horse-walks only. Horses are not allowed to walk or exercise on service roads and service areas. 3. STABLES (STALLS) Vehicles are prohibited from entering the stable module. Loading and unloading should be done outside the stable module. Washing down horses should be done at the wash-down bays only and not inside the stalls. You are reminded that you are not to burn sawdust or any other material inside the stable modules. Cooking inside the stable modules is not permitted. Please ONLY use the stable unit (box) that is assigned to you. 4. DUNG DISPOSAL All dung / manure / waste must be removed from the sawdust daily and disposed of in proper garbage bags and tied up, then placed outside the stable module for easy pickup by the club s staff. At the end of the competition, all stables must be cleaned of all dung and left over feed. The Selangor Turf Club reserves the right to bill any participating club the cost of cleaning stables. 5. PARKING Outside stable area, except for loading and unloading. 6. GENERAL RULES All riders must wear an approved safety helmet while mounted. You may use the lunging ring and roll boxes as and when required. Failure to comply with the above rules and regulations will result in participants / clubs being charged for the repairs to the stables complex and surrounding areas. 7. SECURITY All grooms over-nighting at the stables must complete a security clearance form (Please see OFFICIAL FORMS at the end of booklet) As the Club will be holding its weekly Off-Course Races on Saturdays and Sundays, you are strongly urged to follow all security procedures during your stay with us. 7

INFORMATION ABOUT CLASSES AND RULES REGARDING THE COMPETITIONS This event is organised in accordance with the following international rules (and rules found in the specific sections). Where exceptions have been made for local conditions, the rule is stated in the relevant sections of each discipline. 1. FEI Statutes, 23 rd Edition, effective 29 th April 2014 2. FEI The Rules for Jumping Events and its Annexes, 25 th edition, effective 1 st January 2014 7. All subsequent published revisions, the provisions of which will take precedence. Height Definition PONY HORSE Up to and including 14.2HH Over 14.2 HH Age Definition MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT 7 years old at 10 th November 2017 JUNIOR RIDER 7-16 years old at 10 th November 2017 SENIOR RIDER 17 years & above at 10 th November 2017 MRA REGISTERED EX RACEHORSE BONUS PRIZE Sponsored by Selangor Trainers Association For all MRA registered Ex Racehorses that must have raced in Malaysia and Singapore, there is a bonus prize of RM 100 if your ex racehorse is placed in the top 5 of each class. Eg. Novice Dressage 1 st Imported Warmblood 2 nd Ex racehorse but only raced in Australia 3 rd MRA registered ex race horse = winner of RM 100 bonus prize 4 th Imported Warmblood 5 th MRA registered ex race horse When you send in your entries, please state your horse s racing name or MRA racing brand. 1. UNOFFICIAL CLASSES EA PREPARATORY TESTS All sections of these classes will be judged in the same arena with the same judges. Competition will be divided into Junior and Senior sections for awarding prizes. Open to horse and rider combination that have not been placed in Preliminary Level classes & above in Official Competitions. All Coaches entering this class for the purpose of schooling an inexperienced horse will be designated as Hor Concours (HC). A maximum of two persons on any one horse in any one class is allowed. RIDE AND CYCLE This event is run as a pairs class. The rider jumps a short course of fences. On completion of jumping, the rider returns to the holding box. The cyclist then takes over and races through the set course (cones with tennis balls on top). Judged on table C and fastest time wins. 8

INFORMATION ABOUT CLASSES AND RULES REGARDING THE COMPETITIONS 2. DRESSAGE RULES & INFORMATION Preparatory Preliminary Novice & above : Divided into Junior & Senior as per definition above. : Divided into Junior & Senior as per definition above. : Judged together. *The onus is on the rider to enter the correct group. Failure to enter the correct group may incur AUTOMATIC ELIMINATION at the SOLE discretion of the OC and the Ground Jury. Ponies and horses will be judged together. Sharing of horses is NOT ALLOWED. The ultimate decision lies with the President of Ground Jury. Tests will be judged in sections if numbers demand (25 or above). Ponies and horses will be judged together. Specific Conditions of Dressage: Horses may only be entered in two (2) consecutive levels only. Eg: Preparatory & Preliminary Preliminary & Novice Novice & Elementary Elementary & Medium Medium & Advanced 3. SHOWJUMPING EQUITATION What Every Equitation Competitor Should Know How to Compete GEAR, DRESS & PRESENTATION Clean, neat and appropriate tack. Helmets must have a safety harness. Matching mini chaps and boots may be worn instead of long boots. The presentation mark for riders is judged as they enter the arena and await the bell. Neatness is the first requirement. The mark is for overall impression of a well-groomed rider on a well-turned-out horse with correctly fitted and clean gear. Whips and spurs are optional. Gloves and plaiting are NOT compulsory but will count towards presentation mark. CHECK COURSE PLAN AND/OR TEST Be aware of judging requirements and mandatory lines. WALK COURSE This is encouraged, but not compulsory. ENTER in working trot or a 2-point / 3-point canter. PROCEED to the Judge Halt and salute. 9

PREPARE with a 2-point or 3-point canter circle and wait for the bell. FINISH with a circle at the end of the round and a smooth downward transition from a 2-point or 3-point canter position and trot out. COLLECT score sheet after official results are published. SEMINARS Dressage Judges Seminar conducted by Suzanne Cunningham (EA L2 Dressage Specialist). Sue is responsible for the development of judge education for Dressage in both Malaysia and Singapore.
