Members are expected to help make these events a success by volunteering to help with at least one of them: Opening Day (last Sunday in April) Open House (Mid June) Dinghy Regatta (Late June) CFSA PHRF Regatta (Late Sept) Awards Night (Mid Feb) Commodore s Ball (Late Feb) CFSA functions on self-help. All members are expected to contribute time and skills. Below is a list of activities that require volunteer assistance to run. Please check as many as you can participate in and those in which you are willing to take a lead role. Those responsible for the various activities will be provided with your name and contact number, however, you are expected to be proactive. Anyone willing to assist with special skills can provide details of their capabilities below. Foreshore: Work parties are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. House and Grounds: Maintenance, gardeners, fix-up artists, usually Saturday mornings. Galley: Assist with Friday night dinners and special occasions. Race committee: Race days and various other racing events. All racers must do race committee. Communications: Website, newsletters, press releases, annual etc. Environment/Safety: Promoting general safety awareness, inspections and safety/environmental advice. Entertainment: Organizing, decorating and managing events. Training activities: classroom and afloat, children to adult trainees. Squadron Boats: Repair and maintenance of Club Boats Junior Program: Assistance with dinghy sailing, fundraising events and regattas. Disabled Sailing Association of BC: Assist with training and events. Regattas: Assist with organizing and running. Soliciting prizes for regatta or fishing derby (requires NPF course on soliciting, free course). CFSA stores: Maintaining the CFSA Distribution Account. If applying midyear you must pay within 30 Days of your application being accepted by the Wharfinger. Your moorage payment is based on the boat's length overall, including overhang, as approved by the Foreshore Chair. Prior to paying for moorage, you must submit to the Foreshore Chair a signed copy of this application (including all pages), and proof of current insurance in the member's name that shows a minimum of $1 million in liability. A copy of your PCOC card must also be submitted to the Foreshore Chair if one is not already on file. Monthly credit card payments, pre-authorized debits, or military monthly allotments can only be made to the PSP at the Colwood Pacific Activity Centre (2610 Rosebank Rd, Colwood). 2019-20 Moorage Agreement between Applicant and CFSA (PRINT NAME) I agree to save harmless and keep indemnified the, its Executive Committee, servants, representatives and officials, from and against all claims actions, costs, expenses, and demands in respect to death, injury, loss or damage to my person or property, crew members or guests while on board or in transit to and from my vessel while moored on CFSA property, however caused notwithstanding that the same may have been contributed to or caused or occasioned by the negligence of the same bodies or by any of them, or their officials, servants or representatives. I further understand and agree that this release is to be binding upon my heirs and assigns. I hereby accept the following conditions and responsibilities for the privilege of using the CFSA Esquimalt Squadron moorage facilities. I also accept, and agree to abide by, the Constitution and By-Laws of the Canadian Forces Sailing Association Esquimalt Squadron. I accept full responsibility for the maintenance and security of my berth and mooring. I agree that the Squadron Officials may change my allocated moorage at any time to provide efficient use of foreshore facilities. For non-serving members: I further understand that in the event of a Regular Serving member applying for moorage I may be asked to vacate my space. I will be provided thirty (30) days notice. For Serving members: I further understand that I am to notify CFSA should I release or retire from the CF, or if I am posted /transferred outside of the CFB Esquimalt area, or if I move my residence from the CFB Esquimalt area. I agree that, should I violate any of the Constitution or By-Laws of CFSA, I may be issued with a notice of the violation. I further agree that I shall rectify the stated violation within the specified time limit and that, should I fail to do so, my mooring privileges shall be revoked. I also understand that the vessel, which is subject to the notice, shall be removed, at my expense, to a holding area. I have read and understood the Foreshore Rules 1 and Boat Repair and Maintenance Rules 2. I shall ensure that all outside contractors also conform to these rules. Signature Date 1. CFSA Boats are expected to pay this fee, unless they have paid it elsewhere. This is an annual fee of $28.00 set by BC Sailing. Boating Membership In order to take advantage of the boating infrastructure available at CFSA such as haul out, moorage (permanent, and temporary), use of club boats, reciprocals and workshops the boating membership fee is to be paid. Membership Categories and Annual Fees Simple base membership includes access to the clubhouse and grounds and is governed by the definitions in the CFSA Constitution. Base membership is equivalent to mess dues and does not give full access to the entire boating infrastructure and is intended for crewing-members and social members to have all of the access they need. Base membership is broken down into categories which are summarised from the CFSA constitution and NPF governing documents: Regular Serving: Currently serving members of the Regular Force and their families, Reserves and their families Regular: Former members of the Canadian Armed Forces, their families, and foreign military personnel on duty with the CAF and their families Ordinary: DND Public Service, DND Pensioners, NPF staff, NPF Pensioners, members of the RCMP, Commissionaires employed by the CAF, staff of the MFRC, and the families of the preceding. Associate: Any person not specified above and approved for membership in accordance with the CFSA Constitution. Associate members must be sponsored by a regular member. Out port: For members in good standing who have moved outside the geographic area and who wish to maintain an association with CFSA. 1. Payment can be made to PSP at the Base Gym at Naden or at CPAC 620 Rosebank Rd., Colwood by Credit, Debit Card or cheque (made payable to Base Fund ). 2. Ensure payment is for Membership only. Do not include your moorage payment with your membership payment. 3. CFSA fiscal year is a twelve-month period commencing 1 April. If renewal fees are not paid before 1 April 2019 membership at CFSA will be considered to have expired.
