A Note from Chapter "E" Directors Spring forward! March is here and soon Chapter E will be back on the road again, exploring both new and old Trails together. Our team is working to coordinate your ideas into a calendar year filled with fun events and amazing rides. As we go forward together as a chapter please remember that we are looking for new ride ideas, but even more importantly we are looking for new member s/ Lets invite everyone we meet to come to the maverick and have dinner with us or come to a coffee break or just go on a ride with us. No bike, no problem they can still join GWRRA even if they don t own a bike. People can become members just for the friendship and fun. Speaking of fun, some of us recently attended Chapter E (Iowa) Sweetheart Weekend in Nauvoo Feb 18th, we had a ball. Congratulations to Bill & Callie for bringing home the first place trophy in the horse race and to Jack & Gloria 1st place Horse Traders. Jack won our Chapter 50/50 and Connie and I won a $100 Wal-Mart gift card & Connie also won a gift card for Dollar General. Probably the most fun of all is when Roger & Linda found a skeleton resting in peace as Roger opened a dresser drawer in their hotel room. Do you believe in GHOSTS? FrEedom also went along on the trip after all FrEedom is a bald eagle and Nauvoo is on the banks of the mighty Mississippi. We spotted several more eagles while driving, next year our hope is that more Chapter E members will join us. Chapter E Iowa really knows how to have fun, everyone in attendance won a door prize just for coming. On Feb 23rd Chapter E had our Dress up night at Castelli s in Alton, IL we had 6 couples in attendance, food was great and everyone had a good time, Connie won our Chapter 50/50. Everyone that participates in GWRRA is a winner. The prizes and money that we sometimes win are always nice, but what really matters is the people. Being able to get out and ride, reconnecting with friends and making new friends along the way. We cherish our memories and look forward to our next opportunity for fun. We have plenty of opportunity s coming up during the year, are you ready for some fun? Spring Forward Virgil & Connie Chapter E Directors 217-801-8814, 217-416-6633 sgtvb82abn@yahoo.com csbpanda@yahoo.com
A note from the Chapter MEC February has gone and this snow is still here. We just have to be done with this snow so that we can get the bike out and start riding. Who agrees with me? In February we had two fun activities. The first one was going to Iowa Chapter E (Our sister chapter) "Sweetheart weekend." It was a great time. Bill and I meet more new Goldwing members. Our second year of a fun time, good food and great company. We did get money thrown at us. I tried to catch one and it bounced right out of my hand. I got it. It was a dollar and a candy kiss. Saturday night, everyone walks away with a gift. Saturday afternoon, Bill and I played the horse race game and won first place. That would be a great game to share with other chapters (Maybe summer rally or southern Illinois ride-in). The second activity was our chapter "Dress up night" We had 6 couples. Great food, service and great company. Hopefully, on March 24 there will be nice weather for the blessing of the bikes. Bill is still looking for more ideas for places to ride. More rides are being planned for the coming up months. Stay tune lol. Happy St. Patrick's Day, and remember to wear some green on March 17 th. We are looking forward to spring. It's time to dust off your bike, if you put it away for the winter.
