GENERAL CONDITIONS AND REGULATIONS 1. These conditions and regulations apply to all breeds 2. The age of Stud beef cattle shall be the age up to and inclusive on the 12th March 2016 3. All cattle to be tested for Pesti Virus 4. In any protest relative to age, the judge reserves the right to mouth any exhibit and make the final decision 5. All exhibits must be made available for inspection to persons nominated by the Society at any time, for any reason whatsoever 6. All stock must be registered, or eligible for registration with their respective breed societies if under 6 months old 7. Overnight accommodation is available on day prior to judging. Early arrival by special arrangement 8. All cattle must be on the show ground by 8:00am and remain until after the Grand Parade on Saturday 9. If any exhibitor/exhibit is not ready to parade when the class is called, then that class will go ahead without that exhibitor/exhibit 10. (a) Female beef cattle must be halted and led with an approved nose grip fitted (b) All Bulls over 12 months must have nose rings fitted (c) No Bulls to be led by any person under 18 years. 11. A heifer is considered a female that has not had a calf and is not over three years of age 12. A calf under 9 months of age may parade with its mother in the cow classes 13. Neck straps or chains must be used on all cattle stalled (overnight) in beef cattle sheds at all times 14. Led steers shall have no permanent teeth, are not eligible to compete in the prime cattle section, are to be weighed prior to judging and allocated to respective classes 16. No straw or hay products to be used for bedding. There will be sawdust supplied for this purpose. JUNIOR BEEF CATTLE Exhibitors should be primarily responsible for the rearing and preparation of their exhibit. Exhibits do not have to be registered or pure bred. Any beef breed cross acceptable in beef section. Presentation preparation and herdmanship will be noted in all classes by the judge. All exhibits to be led. It is the HANDLER, not the animal, that is being judged so that the quality of the animal is not of great importance It need not be a stud animal. The animal should be within the handling capacity of the competitor. We hope that young people not normally involved in Shows will take this opportunity to participate. Competitors will be expected to parade an animal in the judging ring and stand it up for presentation to the judges. Competitors are encouraged to train their own animal, however, suitable animals may be borrowed at the show. The DAIRY Section is open to paraders with animals of a breed or cross normally used for dairying. Test not to be below average butter fat of 3.2. 1 st Prize - $20 and Sash. 2 nd Prize - $15. Class 2: Cow producing greatest quantity of butter fat in 300 days. To be completed between March 1 preceding Show and February 28 of the year of the Show. 1 st Prize Trophy donated by Ridley Agricultural Products. Milk not to be below average butter fat of 3.2. Points to be allotted on the following basis: 100 points for type; 50 points for Production Certificate; 1 point for every 10kg butter fat in excess of Standard, with a maximum of 15 Bonus Production points. 2017 7 Livestock Schedule

Class 4: For the highest butterfat and protein producing group of three Registered cows under Official or Group test, 300 days, to be completed between March 1 preceding the Show and February 28 of the year of the Show. Last three monthly records to be done on exhibitor s property. 1 st Prize - $35, and Sash, 2 nd Prize - $15. Class 5: For the highest milk producing group of three Registered cows under Official or Group test, 300 days to be completed between March 1 preceding the Show and February 28 of the year of the Show. Last three monthly records to be done on exhibitor s property. 1 st Prize donated by Gloucester Rural Supplies. Where the Show is held in a leap year, February 28 th reverts to February 29 th Production Certificate must accompany entry, or if not issued, a signed statement by District Dairy Officer (in whose area cow was last recorded) giving Production Record, will be accepted. Certificate will be returned on checking by Secretary. The total points to be allotted for Production and Type to decide this competition. Class to be judged by independent judge. Conditions and regulations as per Stud Beef Cattle Champion Led Steer - Gunning Family Trophy 8 Paraders competition The purpose of this class is to encourage interest in beef cattle and the development of handling skills among those people who are involved in the showing of beef cattle at our show irrespective of age or experience Winner to receive the Little Manning Devon Stud Trophy No Bulls to be paraded. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL EXHIBITORS Any exhibitor intending to bring electrical equipment to the Showground will be required to ensure that such equipment is fitted with earth leakage circuit breakers and that all electrical leads, tools and appliances have been inspected and tagged by a licensed electrical contractor. This is essential for the safety of yourself, your fellow exhibitor and the general public and is a requirement of the occupational Health and Safety Act 1983. The Act imposes very severe penalties in the event of non compliance with its provisions. Any exhibitors who DO NOT comply will not be allowed to exhibit at the Showground. Gloucester A.H.& P.
