Introducing Our New CRO What is a CRO I hear you ask? A CRO is a Customer Relationship Officer. Recently, Tina Doran who has worked for the bank for 18 months was promoted to the position of CRO. Her role involves building relationships with customers, account opening, maintenance on accounts, making term deposit phone calls, answering customer queries and reception duties. You will notice her in our Ferntree Gully branch sitting at the desk directly inside the door. Say g day to her as you come through the branch! Tina came to the bank with eight years banking experience and previous experience in retail and reception roles. She lives locally with her family and her interests include basketball (in the role of chauffeur and supporter of her children), reading and raising her brood. Our CRO at our Rowville branch is Tracey Samios who has been in this role for the past six years and permanently at Rowville for the past six months. She too can help you with all your banking enquiries. Successful Grants Applicants Their Story In each newsletter we plan to let you know the background of the groups and organisations that were successful during our annual grants process. In this newsletter, we will focus on two grants that were presented to two different areas of the CFA. The Basin CFA has had an ongoing program of updating their fire station. As part of that they needed new turn out racks that complied with Occupation Health and Safety regulations. They applied for and received funding for new racks that will enable them to quickly and safely get ready to go out into our community to battle fires and other emergencies and keep us all safe. The CFA Knox Group applied for a grant for a new training ladder. These ladders are used both as a training aid, and also for competition events between stations. Their old training ladder had to be dismantled due to age and vandalism. A new ladder is a significant item costing $35,000. Your bank was able to help start a fund for the ladder by contributing $5,000.

120th Anniversary Heritage Game Rowville Fire Brigade s 70th Anniversary and Open Day On the 6th October 2012 the Rowville Fire brigade will be celebrating their 70th year serving the community. They will be celebrating the event with their annual presentation dinner as well as opening the station to the public from 10am to 4pm. During the opening, the station will hold a sausage sizzle and vehicles, equipment and memorabilia will be on display. A luncheon on the 7th October will be held for ex members of the brigade. The Rowville Community Bank branch and other sponsors have contributed funds to enable these days to occur. On a brisk, overcast day in August bank directors and staff joined fans to watch the Ferntree Gully Eagles Footballers play Nunawading in their 120th Anniversary Heritage Game at the Wally Tew Reserve. The bank sponsored the match and provided specially produced jumpers in the design worn by players a century ago. For the fans there was commemorative caps and drink holders. Channel 31 had their cameras and commentary team there and televised the match twice during the week. 100 Year Anniversary Dinner Congratulations to the Ferntree Gully Football and Cricket Clubs who are celebrating 100 years of both teams playing at the Wally Tew Reserve with a function on the 6th October, 2012. Past and current players, officials, administrators and supporters are invited. For further information, check out the website www.ferntreegullycc.com.au/cms/index.php

Congratulations to The Rowville Football Club The Rowville Football Club seniors recently won the Division 2 Premiership at a close and tightly fought grand final against Montrose at Jubilee Park in Ringwood. By winning this game the club has won its way through to Division 1 in 2013. As a significant sponsor of the Club, we congratulate all involved in a terrific season and exceptional outcome. The Rowville branch was fortunate enough to be able to display the premiership flag and cup at the branch for the week following the win. A big thank you to the club for sharing your win with us. Update on Defibs Both our branches now have defibrillators for use within their local shopping precincts in the case of emergency. Also, Tina Leslie manager of our Ferntree Gully branch presented a defibrillator to the Upper Ferntree Gully Junior Football Club. The junior Football Club had great success this year with Premierships for their Under 12 s, Under 15 s and the All Abilities teams. The defibrillator was presented during their annual presentation day activities. The activities for the children included a couple of jumping castles which were funded by the bank through the annual grant process. Another defibrillator was presented by Andrew Williams, manager of our Rowville branch, with Board members Graeme McEwin and Jeff Somers to the Lysterfield Junior Football Club at their Club s presentation day in late August for use at this venue throughout the year.
