CMP affiliation #061032 RANGE STATUS PHONE 480-463-3505 Newsletter Editor: Catherine Thompson Phone: 928-951-6828 Email: cthompson249@yahoo.com GENERAL MEETING IS HELD AT THE AMERICAN LEGION POST EVERY 3RD THURSDAY AT 7:00pm, 709 E HIGHWAY 260, Payson, AZ 85541 November, 2016 NOVEMBER GENERAL MEETING: Our next meeting will be on Thursday, November 17th, (7 pm at the American Legion) WORK PARTY: HELP! HELP! HELP! With close to 1,000 members in our club, it would be nice if more than 15 workers would show up on Range Clean-Up Days. Let s all get together and help those same 15 workers at the work party on Saturday, November 12 th from 7 am to. See you there with your gloves on. Any questions? Call Ed at 602-999-3388. TURKEY SHOOT: It s Turkey Time Our annual Turkey Shoot will be held on Saturday, November 19 th from 10 am to 2 pm. This year you will again be able to win a turkey with a rifle, shotgun, handgun and/or bow and for those of you that are lucky or good at cards, we have a game for you. This event is open to the public. Bring your family, a friend, a neighbor = talk it up! Call Ed for info 602-999-3388. LADIES DAY has changed the start time to 9:30 am (November 13 th ) and there will not be a Ladies Day in December. (A self-defense class is planned for January). STEEL CHALLENGE: We have a new Match Director for Steel Challenge effective November 1, 2016. Matt Misino, with his wife Stacy, will serve as Match Directors. Matt Misino 480-586-4066. ANNUAL ELECTIONS: We need candidates for President, Secretary, Treasurer and Trustee. Please volunteer and/or give your nominations to anyone on the Election Committee Doug Newland, Mark Hines, Ed Niebch or Keith Nash, (or any Board Member). MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL: All memberships must be renewed effective January 1 st. A renewal form is included in this newsletter. HUNTER SAFETY CLASS: The next Hunter Safety Class will be held the end of November. Go to the Arizona Game & Fish website for information and/or to sign up: AZGFD.gov CLARIFICATION: Last month we reported that members could bring two guests to the range, but in fact the correct number is three. Following is the wording from our Membership Guide: Members may invite guests to the shooting range as long as the guests are present with an active member. Members may have up to 3 guests at the shooting range any single time. All guests under the age of 18 must have a parent or supervisor with them at all times. If guests are brought to the 100 yard range on Public shooting days, then each guest must pay the standard range fee of $5.00. At any other time or range the guests are not charged any fee. The Active member is responsible for the actions and safety of the invited guests at all times. I have been asked to again remind you that if you bring more guests than allowed or regularly bring the same guest, please have them become a member. The Annual Membership cost is cheap for what they get about the cost of two 20 round boxes of high power rifle ammo. NOTICE: FUTURE RANGE CLOSING. January 28, 2017 has been scheduled for the perimeter fence rehab. Obviously, for safety the entire range must be closed. Again, the more volunteers we have the faster it can be completed, so mark your calendars.
