Conditions: L A N D R O V E R H O R S E O F T H E Y E A R 1 2 t h 1 7 t h M A R C H 2 0 1 9 The Land Rover Horse of the Year Showing Committee has the right to combine classes (depending on sponsorship and Trophies), if there are insufficient numbers entered. Workouts will be available online as from 20 February 2019 www.hoy.kiwi or www.ras.org.nz., and from the horse stewards office at the showing section. There will be no alteration to the starting order as a result of not obtaining a workout. A Best Presented Sash will be awarded in each Title class, except P&M classes, throughout the show including Lead Rein & First Ridden. Rings 1 & 2 will be open from 7am 8am each morning subject to ground conditions. During this time the chief ring steward will monitor horses/ponies and riders times may be limited depending on traffic. No ring familiarization will be given at any other time of the day. Rising Star Horse or Pony: A Rising Star Exhibit is a horse/pony that was a Novice as at August 1st 2018, excluding a Lead Rein Pony or a First Ridden Pony. See further Conditions. Classes will not be held up for competitors. Competitors will be given one call to enter the competition ring failure to present after the first call will result in elimination. No second call will be given. Note: Only Working Hunter & Title Classes ( # ) will have set Workouts. ( * ) Denotes Title classes where the competitors will be asked to present their horse/pony In Hand, stripped of all saddlery, after the workouts are completed. Please note this will be subject to time and daylight conditions. If necessary, the stripping component of the conformation judging will not take place.

Ponies may be nominated for registration with the society prior to this event, and the NZRP will do its very best to arrange classification (full registration) of these ponies prior to the event. Judging Criteria Entrants in this class may be of show pony type or show/saddle hunter pony type. The emphasis when judging these entrants is first and foremost quality of conformation (as pertaining to the Show Pony type or the Show/Saddle Hunter-type Riding Pony) and soundness (80%). Quality movement (in relation to type) combined with manners befitting an animal bred to be a child s mount complete the criteria of a winning entrant (20%). Working entrants on the circle along with the opportunity to view the straightness of each entrant s action is adequate. No workout is required. Entrants may be stripped of their saddles.
