INDIANA SWIMMING AND DIVING >Dear Hoosier Swimming Friends, The 1651 club was organized in recent years to give the Men s Swimming team a means to augment its operating budget in the specific areas of recruiting and travel. As represented by the name, we are asking all those connected with the men s swimming team past and present to go the extra yard to help us field a future Big Ten and NCAA championship. The coaching staff will work hard to improve every aspect of the team. The time it takes to rebuild the program to a championship level depends largely on the contributions you make to the 1651 club. Each donor will receive an acknowledgement that can be used for tax purposes. If you would like additional information on the 1651 club or if you would like to make a donation, please contact me at one of the contacts below. We look forward to seeing many of you at next season s dual meets and functions. Sincerely, Ray Looze Head Swimming Coach Indiana University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Swimming and Diving Assembly Hall 1001 East 17th Street Bloomington, IN 47408-1590 rlooze@indiana.edu >Dear Hoosier Diving Friends, The Indiana University diving program began and flourished under the direction of former head coach Hobie Billingsley. The program has continued to be a force on the national and international levels. In 2004, the program won its 11th straight combined (men s and women s) team U.S. National Championship and sent three former and current Hoosier alumni to the Olympic Games in Athens. In 2005, two IU divers competed in the World Championships in Montreal and three IU divers participated in the World University Games in Izmir, Turkey. In 2007 we sent a diver to both the World Championships in Melbourne, Australia and the World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand. In 2008 we sent one diver to the Olympic Games in Beijing and captured our 12th combined team U.S. National Championship. The diving program needs the help of those connected to IU to help keep Indiana Diving at the elite level. The coaching staff will continue to work hard and keep the program at the top of the national and international level. The time it takes to keep the diving program at the highest level depends in large part to the contributions made by donors and former alumni. Contributions allow for the program to keep facilities and equipment ahead of the curve and keep IU on the cutting edge. If you would like additional information on asking contributions or if you would like to make a donation to the diving program, contact me at one of the contacts below. We look forward to seeing and hearing from many of you throughout the next year.
