ROCKIES: The Braves and Rockies begin a three-game series tonight, the clubs first meeting this season...the Rockies have won eight of the last nine meetings between the clubs, but the Braves are 16-5 against Colorado at Turner Field since 2010. Overall, the Braves are 45-22 (.672) against Colorado at Turner Field. The Rockies took two of three in Atlanta last season, their first series win at Turner Field since they also won two of three, September 26-28, 2005. ROSTER MOVE: The Braves selected the contract of catcher Anthony Recker from Triple-A Gwinnett today and placed catcher Tyler Flowers on the 15-day disabled list with a left hand fracture, retroactive to July 10...Recker will wear No. 20. Recker split this season between Gwinnett and Triple-A Columbus, hitting.244 (48-for-197) with eight home runs and 28 RBI in 59 combined games. He began the season with the Clippers before Atlanta acquired him from Cleveland for cash considerations on May 9...He hit.243 (33-for-136) with six home runs in 40 games for the G-Braves. ALL-STAR: RHP Julio Teheran made his All-Star debut on Tuesday, and threw 12 pitches, nine strikes, during a perfect fifth inning...teheran made his second All-Star team this season; he did not play in the 2014 game after being named on the player ballot. LAST 25: The Braves are 13-12 in their last 25 games dating to June 15...They have hit 28 home runs over this stretch after hitting 27 over their first 64 games of the season. HOME RUNS: The Braves hit eight home runs in their three-game series against Chicago (AL) that led into the All-Star break, the club s most homers in a threegame set since also hitting eight against Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park to open the 2009 season. The Braves also hit two home runs on July 7 at Wrigley Field and have multiple homers in four consecutive games, the club s longest such streak since April 14-18, 2015, when they also had another four-game streak. The last time the team hit multiple homers in five straight games was April 10-14, 2014. BRIAN SNITKER: In his 40th season in the Braves organization, Brian Snitker was named Atlanta s interim manager on May 17...He earned his first win on May 18 (at PIT) and his first home win on May 27 vs. MIA... The Braves are 22-30 under Snitker. In his 40th season in the organization, Snitker (60) became the first manager to get his first Major League win at age 60 or older since Bobby Mattick did so for the Blue Jays in 1980 at the age of 64. STAY HOT: 1B Freddie Freeman hit.400 (4-for-10) with three walks, two home runs and two RBI in the three-game set against Chicago (AL)...Since June 1, Freeman is tied for the MLB lead with 25 extra-base hits, while he is tied for ninth with 47 hits (47-for-141,.333), ranks 11th with a.418 on-base percentage and seventh with a.652 slugging percentage...his 1.071 OPS is eighth best, while he is one of 12 players with a mark of at least 1.000 in that category. DOMINANT: RHP Mike Foltynewicz fanned 10 in a 2-0 win at Chicago (AL) in the Braves last game before the All-Star break, the right-hander s first career doubledigit strikeout game...foltynewicz did not issue a baseon-balls and became just the 10th pitcher this season to strike out at least 10 with no walks in a scoreless outing. The last Braves pitcher to acomplishe the feat was LHP Alex Wood on August 31, 2014. PETERSON PRODUCES: Since being recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on June 10, INF Jace Peterson has hit.320 (33-for-103) with a.388 on-base percentage, four home runs and 15 runs scored in 27 games...his.320 average over this span ranks 14th best in the National League...Peterson has raised his season average from.182 to.279. Peterson has hit leadoff his last 17 starts, batting.310 over this stretch.
