Members, October has been a very dry month, the course only had 1.2 inches of rain. We have not recorded any rain fall since the 3rd. On top of the dry conditions it has also been very windy, with low humidity. This has led to some dry areas on a few fairways. We have started to use the fertigation system to put out wetting agent and fertilizer to help these areas. We are also putting out our fall weed pre-emergent application and a full course granular fertilizer application. The Pre-emergent application will be completed on the 27th and the granular will go out on the 31st. These applications will get the course ready for the winter months. A few weeks ago we put down sod on several greens to repair some thin areas. The sod is taking root and we will continue to topdress and roll the spots until they are uniform with the rest of the putting surfaces. Sod was also put out in 6, 7, 8 and 14 fairways in the landing areas to fill in some bare areas. This sod will also be topdressed next week, after it has rooted in. We thank you for your membership and continued support as we strive to provide you with optimal playing conditions. If you have any questions, don t hesitate to ask on your next trip to the club. Good things, Rob Cleer
