The pening charity turnament next year, 2019, will be June 1st. The league is thinking f starting tee times the Tuesday after the pening turnament. Dawna Wallace brke 90 fr the first time at Falcn. We als had sme milestne birthdays: an 80th, a 60th, and sn t be a 50th. Shut ut t Ruth fr walking the curse at 80! Tracy nted she is inspired by the wmen glfing in their 60s, 70s, and 80s. v On Cuples Night, July 20th, Jackie McIvr wn the ladies clsest t the pin prize. Shrtly after, she tk very sick and we almst lst her. A few days befre the lunchen, Jackie mentined she wuld lve t play again sn, even if it is nly 5 hles. Due t ppular demand, Jeff cnducted 2 classes (back t back) in rder t accmmdate all. Thank yu, Jeff. These classes are very ppular and very helpful. Play ready glf at the tee, n the fairway and n the green. Be ready t step up t yur ball immediately after the last player has hit their ball. Think abut what club yu might use as yu are walking up t yur ball. D ne practice swing befre hitting yur ball. All ther practice swings shuld be dne prir t yur turn. As a general rule f thumb, a typical game shuld take apprximately 4 hurs r faster.

In a perfect wrld, yur grup shuld be at least ½ way dwn a lnger fairway, sn t d their apprach sht, as the last grup leaves the green. If yur team is falling behind, the first peple t finish putting shuld head t the next tee and hit their balls while the latter team members finish ff their putts. This will speed up play tremendusly. Remember: if every player takes an extra 15 secnds (t get t their ball, hit their ball r chse a club), a whle minute is wasted per hle resulting in 18 additinal minutes added t the game delaying each grup behind yu 18+ minutes. That is hw the curse gets backed up. We ask fr yur cnsideratin. Treasurer s Reprt Christine Rss We had 30 members in 2017. We have 34 members in 2018 8 new members. There were 13 RCGA memberships. Susan Stanley explained the 2-tier membership pricing regarding RCGA member/nnmember, and the benefits f being an RCGA member (e.g.: yu are able t play in cmpetitins with an RCGA membership). There is $90, after expenses, in the kitty fr next year. Scial Cmmittee Reprt Dar Patersn; Margaret Pilchar July 2nd, 2019 - glf lunchen (mark yur calendars nw): Lcatin: Sme members have suggested that we recnsider the lcatin f ur pening and clsing lunchens. They wuld like t g back t having bth lunchens at a member s cttage. The restaurant fd was great, hwever it lacked the infrmal camaraderie that we have when we are mingling abut at smene s cttage. In the
past, the lunchens have gne t well after 4 PM, with peple chatting and enjying the afternn. At the restaurant, mst were gne by 2:30. Sme fund it hard t hear Susan frm acrss the table. *** We are lking fr smene t hst the July 2 nd, 2019 meeting. Please let ne f the executive knw if yu are willing t ffer yur cttage. Remember, the scial cmmittee supplies the lunch. Hildy Dyck has kindly ffered her cttage fr the August meeting. The ladies league will supprt the clubhuse n the remaining Tuesdays after glf, as well as at the Classic. The scial cmmittee will nw cllect $15.00/persn fr all lunchens held at cttages. There will be a cllectin bwl at each lunchen. Members are asked t leave their cash in the bwl and sign their name n the accmpanying sheet. Excess mney will be put tward the next lunchen. Fees will be adjusted as the need arises. The scial cmmittee will put aside a reserve f $80.00 in August fr start-up in July f the fllwing year. Ladies Classic: Plans are already underway fr the 2019 Ladies Classic at the Falcn Lake Glf Curse n June 1st, 2019. It will be quite a challenge t tp last year s $18,000.00 but n matter what we raise, we d raise awareness abut cancer. We ve all heard that cancer can be cured when detected early. Screening tests are the nly way t guarantee early detectin. Get ut there and get screened! Mre details regarding the Ladies Classic will be psted in spring. S, make yur plans t be back t the lake area by June 1, 2019. Like last year, it will be a great event! FYI, the classic: Is RCGA sanctined. Is put n by the pr-shp. Has always been n the 1 st weekend in June. Needs crprate spnsrship. Because f the number f last minute bkings fr glf carts this year due t the rain, and in rder t imprve pace f play, the pr shp is thinking f raising the price f the turnament t include the price f a glf cart next year. The clubhuse hlds 130 peple inside (accrding t the liqur license), but there are als tables available utside, s the pr shp is trying t determine the maximum number f participants fr next year. The Palliative Care prgram is being cnsidered as the beneficiary f the turnament prceeds next year. Falcn Lake Ladies Sewer Lid Many f ur members participated in the 42nd Annual Sewer Lid turnament held n September 13th at the Falcn Lake Glf Curse. It rained but that didn't dampen the party! The restaurant served up a delicius steak and salad dinner with an awesme dessert plate. A big shut ut t Evelyn Prceviat wh rganized the event the silent auctin was great and we all tk hme sme really great prizes.

The men ran a turnament called the Septic Tank Turnament which has nw becme defunked. The lcal ladies decided t have a turnament and call it the Sewer Lid.
