LSU has a team average of 195.871 after defeating No. 15 Auburn, 197.050-195.475, and West Virginia, 197.050-192.750, last Friday in a tri-meet at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. LSU AMONG TOP 10 ON THREE INDIVIDUAL EVENTS The Tigers are ranked among the top-10 nationally on three of the four individual events this week.. The team tied for No. 5 on the vault (49.117) after placing No. 9 last week. The Tigers stayed at No. 6 on the floor with an average of 49.033. TIGERS MATCH 9TH BEST VAULT SCORE IN LSU HISTORY AGAINST AUBURN/WEST VIRGINIA LSU opened the meet against Auburn and West Virginia on Feb. 8 with a bang. The team came out and scored a 49.425 on the vault in their opening rotation. That score tied the 9th highest total on the vault in LSU gymnastics history. The score has been matched five times now, with the most recent score coming against Alabama on March 2, 2007. TIGERS SET TEAM SEASON HIGHS IN TRI-MEET Maybe LSU gymnastics should schedule tri-meets more often. Against No. 15 Auburn and West Virginia (2/8), the Tigers set season highs in three of the four individual events and in the overall score. Their overall score of 197.050 was their higest score since scoring a 197.175 against Penn State on March 9 of last season. The team also scored season highs on the vault (49.425), bars (49.275) and beam (49.300). KLEIN TEMPORARILY SIDELINED WITH INJURY The Tigers took a blow against Kentucky (2/1) when junior Lauren Klein injured her right ankle on the beam. Attempting a round-off double back dismount, Klein s right foot hit the beam, damaging ligaments. Originally thought to be season-ending, her injury should sideline her only through the early part of March. In the meantime, look for Kayla Rogers to take her place on the floor and vault and Nicole Lyons to take her spot on the beam. LYONS POSTS THREE CAREER-HIGH SCORES IN TRI-MEET Nicole Lyons had the best meet of her young career against Auburn and West Virginia on Feb. 8. The freshman from Mountain Top, Pa. scored career highs on the vault (9.900), bars (9.850) and beam (9.850).
