Coaches Meeting: Immediately following weigh-ins in Hospitality Room Wrestling Starts 11:00am on Saturday (we will wrestle straight through and utilize 3 mats all through the Finals- 3 rd /4 th on Mat 1, 1 st /2 nd on Mat 2, and 5 th /6 th on Mat 3) ** Times would be adjusted if SHS hosts a Basketball game that night. E. PRE-TOURNAMENT COACHES' MEETING Snohomish High School hospitality room (just outside of gym) Immediately following weigh-ins **Please have a representative present for the meeting. We will conduct some WSWCA business and request members there to vote. F. G. ADMISSION IS CHARGED EACH DAY (please let your athletes and families know): 1. Saturday Feb 9 th Adult $ 10.00 Student/Child/Sr. Citizen $ 7.00 Children 5 and under Free 2. Mat Classic (State Tournament) All Tournament Tickets will be available on a pre-sale basis and will be sold on Saturday afternoon. Ticket prices will be: All Tournament Adult $32.00 Student $23.00 Children 5 and under Free Single Session and All Day Tickets can be purchased at the Tacoma Dome. 3. Acceptable passes: Press Pass, WSCA Pass w/id, and WIAA Lifetime Pass ** NO OTHER PASSES WILL BE ACCEPTED** 4. Schools will forward the attached Pass List to the Tournament Director no later than Wednesday, Feb. 7 th. e-mail to mark.perry@sno.wednet.edu 5. Cheerleaders in uniform will be admitted free. Each school will be limited to a maximum of four at mat side. 6. News media and photographers - only those approved by the Tournament Manager will be allowed in the mat area. H. AWARDS 1. Awards will be given to the first FOUR place finishers in each weight class. 2. Individual awards will be presented during the championship session. Team scores will be kept but there is not a team trophy for this first round of the state tournament.
I. STATE QUALIFIERS 1. The top FOUR place finishers in each weight division will qualify for the State Wrestling Tournament to be held in the Tacoma Dome February 15th and 16th. 2. The 5th place finisher will become the alternate at the State Tournament. The alternate will be used in the event of a scratch by a higher placer. J. OFFICIALS To be determined by WIAA at a later date. K. DISPUTES 1. Any disputes occurring at the tournament will be presented to the Tournament Director and he will confer with the Tournament Committee present. Their decision will be final. 2. The WIAA expulsion rule (23.32-Conduct eligibility rules and penalties) will be followed. L. General Information 1. DRESSING ROOMS Boys Locker Room Be sure: Wrestlers deposit all debris in trash cans. P. E. Baskets are not disturbed. Bulletin boards are left untouched. Coaches should discuss proper care of locker room area. 2. Each school must furnish their own towels. 3. FLOOR RESTRICTIONS a. No one will be permitted to stand along the mats, including coaches, wrestlers, and spectators. b. The limit is two coaches per mat. Violations will be reported to the tournament director and the head coach will be notified 4. PARKING FACILITIES Parking is available north and west of the gym and on-street parking. Busses should park along the curb in the lot of 5 th Street (turn in at the Tennis Courts) 5. SIGNS No signs except official school banners allowed. 6. BANDS AND NOISEMAKERS No bands or noisemakers will be allowed. M. SPECIAL INTRODUCTION BEFORE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND This procedure will be reviewed at the coaches' meeting February 9th. The championships will be held on three mats.
N. TEAM SCORING 1. All tournament scoring will be as stated in the National Federation Rule Book (Rule 9, Section 2) TEAM PLACEMENT First Place - 16 points Fourth Place - 7 points Second Place - 12 points Fifth Place - 5 points Third Place - 9 points Sixth Place - 3 points 2. TOURNAMENT SCORING Individual placement points shall be awarded as soon as earned. Placement points already earned will be deducted in case of forfeit (other than injury) or disqualification from the tournament. Points for team scoring shall be awarded as follows: a. (2) team advancement points shall be scored for each match won in the championship bracket, except for the final first place match. If a wrestler receives a bye in the first round, he shall be awarded 2 advancement points for that round if he wins his next match. No points are awarded for the bye if the wrestler loses his next match. b. (1) team advancement point shall be scored for each match won in the consolation round, except for the final third and fifth place matches. A wrestler who has a bye in the consolations round shall receive one advancement point, provided he wins the next round match. 3. POINTS FOR DEFAULT, DISQUALIFICATION, FALL, OR FORFEIT a. Two additional points will be scored for each match won by default, disqualification, fall, or forfeit throughout the tournament. b. One and one-half points will be awarded for each match won by a technical fall. c. One point will be awarded for each match won by a major decision. d. Automatic pin points will be awarded if two teammates meet at any point in the tournament. 4. OTHER SCORING In tournament scoring six places, the winner of each championship quarterfinals shall be awarded three points, and the winner of each championship final shall be awarded for additional place points. The winner of the quarterfinal consolation match shall receive three additional place points. The winner of the third place and the winner of the fifth place shall receive two additional place points. O. WITHDRAWAL OF QUALIFIERS Any school who intends to withdraw a qualified participant should contact the tournament manager at (360) 563-4080 or at mark.perry@sno.wednet.edu as soon as possible. This will allow time to contact the alternates.

Take the first Snohomish exit to Bickford Ave. which becomes Ave. D in town. Follow Ave. D to the light at 5 th Street. Turn right on 5 th, go 1.5 blocks (before tennis courts) and turn right into the bus parking lot. Busses can park along the loop on the outer edge. From the East Side: On 405, take the Bothell Exit to 522. Take the second exit off 522 to Snohomish and Hwy 9. Turn left onto Hwy 9. Proceed approx. 10 miles. Cross the Snohomish River Bridge and take the Snohomish exit just after the bridge, turning right at the stop sign. Follow the road (2 nd St.) into town. Go to the first light at Ave. D and turn left. Proceed to the light at 5 th Street. Turn left at the 5 th Street light and go1.5 blocks (just before tennis courts) and take a right into the bus parking lot. Busses can park along the loop on the outer edge. Driving North on Highway 9: Take the exit to Snohomish just after crossing the Snohomish River Bridge and turn right at the stop sign onto 2 nd Street. Go to the first light at Ave. D and turn left. Go to the first light at Ave. D and turn left. Proceed to the light at 5 th Street. Turn left at the 5 th Street light and go1.5 blocks (just before the tennis courts) and take a right into the bus parking lot. Busses can park along the loop on the outer edge. Driving South on Highway 9: Take the first Snohomish exit, turning left off of Highway 9. You will enter into a round-about. Come out of the roundabout onto Ave D (in front of Burger King) Procced to light at 5 th Street. Turn right on 5 th, go 1.5 blocks (just before the tennis courts) and turn right into the bus parking lot. Busses can park along the loop on the outer edge.
