Dear Fellow Lot Owners/Friends: There really is something very special about this place we call Carefree. Many of us comment about how happy we feel as we drive through the front gate. It s so wonderful to see owners returning, setting up for the season and getting re-acquainted with their neighbors. I love how the Resort is so clean, the grass is trimmed and the flowers starting to bloom. I believe the two main components that produce a thriving community are pride of ownership and people who care enough to get involved. Pride of ownership is quite evident and, looking at our 2017 social calendar, it is obvious that we have many caring Carefree people who are getting involved to organize a wide variety of activities for our families and guests. Check out the social calendar and newsletters on our new website. In addition to the Friday night bingo, Saturday family/adult dances and Sunday Church, please make a point of attending our Annual General Meeting on Saturday at 10:00 am (registration starting at 9:00 am) in the clubhouse. This is a great opportunity to hear about the changes made in the Resort over the past year, elect board members, express your opinions, and to meet the amazing Carefree Team that takes pride in keeping our Resort looking and running so great. A couple of my favorite Minion quotes: When you re stressed, you eat ice cream, cake, chocolate and sweets. Why? Because stressed spelled backwards is desserts. Rabbits jump and live for 8 years; dogs run and live for 15 years; turtles do nothing and live for 150 years. Lesson learned. Have a wonderful Carefree weekend. REMINDER GOLF CART INSURANCE As you know, we require proof of insurance for all golf carts as per policy, and have been enforcing this for a few years. Please bring in your current proof of liability insurance to the Office in order to receive your required 17 sticker. We will be looking for your name, expiry date and specification that the golf cart is in fact liability covered. If the insurance you submitted last year is still viable, come into the office and we will give you your sticker. Golf carts found driving around the resort without a 17 sticker will be escorted back to their respective lots, and should remain parked until the sticker has been issued. If a golf cart is caught without the appropriate sticker more than once, a fine of $25.00 will be issued to the lot owner. Repeat offenders can expect increasing penalties including having their golf cart removed from the resort. Hello to all the Carefree owners and families. This week marks the end of my six years on the Carefree Board of Directors. I have loved my time on the Board. I learned a lot and met many wonderful people. I wanted to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who helped me out during these six years, especially during the four years that I organized the Social activities. I also want to thank my fellow Board members for making this experience enjoyable and fulfilling. See you at the lake?
